Overall a decent spot for beef noodle soup. Cantonese Beef Delight took over the Stand Up Cafe space and make some minor tweaks to the space... but somehow made it feel more cramped. Think they kept some of the old decor tho.
They specialized in beef offal either in a hot pot version or over noodle soup. Offal is a mixed of tripe, lungs, and innards... and they also specialized in beef tendon balls or beef balls. When we went for lunch, quite a few customers ordered frozen bags of their beef tendon balls for takeaway.
So, we came for lunch bc our friends told us it's a good spot to check out. We didn't want hot pot, so we ordered noodle soups - one beef brisket with lai fun (which I think is a better option simply bc I found it to be cleaner and a meatier option) - $10. My husband tried their beef offal with the thicker noodle - $10. I was not impressed with this one, there were too many innards and not enough tripe pieces. And sadly, it didn't taste clean. On the side, we ordered the beef tendon balls in soup - as it was highly recommended to us by the staff... and it was OK. Not something I would pay $10 for again... 6 beef tendon balls in a seaweed soup. Total with tax & tip - $36.
Staff were nice, service was fine - they serve you hot tea. Food comes out quick. A solid 3. Wouldn't go out of my way for this spot tho. read more
