Solid breakfast/brunch spot. Good selection of options. I had one of the skillets--would've preferred the hash browns to be a bit more crisp, but still quite tasty overall. I sat at the counter and can say the large, fluffy omelets I saw coming out are enough to lure me back, and the other dishes likewise looked good. My chief gripes: orange juice appeared to be store bought (it's in Florida, surely I can get fresh??), and the water is horrible (I know it's not the only place with this issue, and maybe those who are used to it don't mind, but plenty of other places add filtering or something to eliminate a very easy-to-fix issue that brings down the experience). Address those two things, it's probably up a star. It's not a huge space, so you may well have a wait, even to sit at the counter (especially on a weekend). Service was fine. I came in for brunch because another local favorite was overly packed and this came up as a highly rated option. I'm so glad to have ended up here. We waited about 10-15 mins to be seated. Thankfully they had a method to waiting and not just a line outside the door. Our waitress, Anastasia was very attentive and sweet. My mom and I shared the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito- the chorizo in this is SO flavorful. We also split the sweet potato pancake. I've never had anything like it. It didn't need any syrup. The candied pecans on top are to die for. I would order this every time I visit if I could. 10/10 recommend. My niece had the Mickey Mouse pancakes. It didn't exactly look like MM lol but still a super fun option for the kiddos. Overall we had a lovely dining experience. Local Review: Food and the way this place is managed is AWFUL. Once we were seated we waited for 20min before I asked for a waitress/waiter. They have plenty of employees but most were talking to each other and standing around. Three of the 7 employees we noticed were actively tending to customers, the host, older lady and a taller guy with an accent. A vibe of complacency made this place stink (figuratively). No acknowledgement or apology of our wait time and lack of service. It was very odd and off putting. Sloooow to serve but quick to take your money. Location is convenient on the way back to the airport. Service was great, as sever had that sweet Southern mannerism. Ordered the skillet with hash, veggies n scrambled eggs. I was able to substitute the toast with one pancake!!! Loved the perfectly textured pancake; slightly crisped and golden but fluffy on the inside! Well, let's start off with this -- They have Gluten-free Pancakes!! I don't know, that may be all I need to say. But it won't BE all I say. Hubby was kind enough to order those GF pancakes and share them with me. This allowed me to get another favorite -- Corned Beef with fried eggs and toast. See what I mean?!? Located in an upscale part of Rosemary beach right where 30A begins. We were seated right away but I bet on normally weekends it would be packed. It has been really cold and rainy weekend in December. We ordered the biscuits which were delicious. My husband ordered the regular breakfast with eggs, meat, hashbrowns. He liked it all but the hash browns were a smidge overcooked. Nothing terrible. He still ate them. I got the breakfast tacos with bacon vs the chorizo. These were AMAZING! I wish I had taken a photo of the food here, but it was so amazing. We sat outside since it was the first area to open up, and the service was not terrible but not great. Our server was very busy, and the restaurant is relatively new. I'm sure they are still getting things under control. As for the cleanliness, I give it a solid 10/10. Clean restrooms, clean silverware, dishes, cups (scary to need to clarify, but necessary). I got The Douglas Skillet with no tomatoes. It was very well seasoned and yummy, but I want to try something different next time. Their menu is huuuge, so the options are endless. I will be going back the next time I'm local. read more

We tried this place for breakfast for the first time on weekend. We were seated right away and service was great. It's a nice looking place from the inside, very neat and clean. Everything looks new. We started with orange juice and their Tex mex burrito. Both were good. We also tried their build your own skillet, which was pretty good and healthy. I went with all veggies, grilled chicken, hash browns and their 9 grain wheat toast. The skillet was tasty and service was fast. We also ordered their pancake to share, which was quite delicious. HOLY SMACKS this place is AWESOME!!! My wife, sister, and I were actually headed to another breakfast place but it was covered over so we Yelped for a substitute and landed at Canopy Road Cafe! Serendipity is the word that comes to mind! This place has limited seating indoors but they do have bar seating as well as a good number of outside tables on a covered patio. There was a 20min wait for booth/table seating but we might have waited 10? We arrived about 9:30a for reference. I ordered the breakfast burrito, my wife had a wrap with egg whites, my sis ordered a breakfast sandwich, and we got a single pancake for the table. I wish I'd taken a picture of my burrito because it was aesthetically pleasing in addition to being one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had! Both my sister and wife stated their sandwiches were super tasty and the pancake was delish!!! As always I'll finish my review with service quality statements. Just like their food the service was top shelf. Prompt. Friendly. Attentive but not annoyingly so. The coffee was perfect as well. Okay, so this place is pretty awesome. Canopy Road Café was my favorite dining experience on a recent trip to the area. My friends of 5 and I dined here on a Friday morning and the place was busy but not too crowded. We were seated at a table in the far back corner with no wait. The server was quick to greet our table and delivered top-notch service the whole meal - my coffee mug never went below the halfway point and he constantly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. He also cleared up small annoying debris from our table, like empty sugar packets and creamers. The restaurant offers a pretty great selection of breakfast - so much so that I had trouble choosing the perfect breakfast dish for me. I ended up ordering an omelet, the SURFER GIRL: Fresh spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, cream cheese and onion, topped with fresh avocado, pico de gallo and sour cream. The omelet is served with your choice of home fries, hash browns, or grits and your choice of toast. I asked for hash browns, extra crispy and they came out perfectly. As for the bread selection, be sure you ask for their entire variety of options before selecting! For a slight upcharge, you can get a goodie such as an everything bagel with cream cheese - who does that as a bread side?! Awesome. Y'all - my omelet was delicious. So fresh and executed so well. I loved everything in it and the cream cheese just brought the whole thing to another level. I would definitely come back here and order the exact same thing again. From the looks of it, Canopy Road Café is pretty new but people are already aware of what a gem this place is - don't sleep on it! My wife and I went to Rosemary Beach for our baby moon and I was shocked to see Canopy Road close to our rental. I knew them from Tallahassee over 10 years ago when they had 2 locations and can't believe the expansion they've had in that time. The food was great. The food is good and I guess that's where we forgot how bad the water is when we visited a second time and then it came flooding back into memory as soon as we asked for waters. They need some sort of filtering system...it even smells bad. I'm not sure if the staff is just used to the odor or what. Even the ice tea and sodas you can still taste and smell the bad water. Let me start off by saying my 3 star review is in no way related to the quality of the food - the Benedict was so good! Perfectly cooked eggs and the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. One star taken off for service - our waiter wasn't super attentive. We had to flag him down if we wanted anything (coffee refill, water refill, etc.) They were super busy so I get that things might go slower, but the organization of waiter/waitresses to tables didn't make sense (they had patrons at the bar, inside, and outside). I felt bad they didn't give them areas that were easier to manage. I didn't see a manager or anyone who seemed to be in charge walking around which I feel you usually see when a place is busy. Another star taken off for attention to detail - our waiter brought us an open juice. Since he was kind of absent as already mentioned, we had to ask another waiter for one. The other waiter (which I unfortunately didn't catch his name) was so attentive and kind. He was running around the place and doing an excellent job. It would be nice if the juice came in a cup or something, instead of just a plastic Tropicana bottle placed on the table. Meh. Nothing special about this place. It was okay. Not very flavorful. Definitely not worth the prices. The portion sizes are okay, but I have never seen a restaurant skimp so much on the french fries like this one does. For the price at least make the salad sized plate look full and not sparse. I really don't understand the additional 2% entertainment tax since there is no entertainment. I won't be back and prefer other restaurants in the area over this one. People are nice. But the water they use smells and tastes like well water or toilet water. It's horrible.
