We really liked the work they did installing a solid patio cover at the neighbors house and we were in the market for a patio cover ourselves so we decided to use Perfect Home Bakersfield. Their salesman, Alex, came out and quoted us for the patio cover and we placed the order. After the initial quote I called to make a few changes. I called multiple times asking to get an updated quote on the price and I was never given one. At one point, the receptionist knew I needed to talk with the manager, Manuel, about my question and she tried to transfer me to him three times, but he refused to speak with me. On the day of install the two-man crew showed up on time and completed the install in one day. Phew! In the hot Bakersfield summer we were so happy to have shade and the patio looks great! But they left a mess. They blew small bits of trash, nails, screws, and aluminum shavings into our lawn and flowerbeds. We have small children whom they met that morning. My kids like to go barefoot in the backyard and they couldn't! They also forgot to finish the install of the ceiling fans; the decorative cover that sits flush with the ceiling was left hanging on the fan motor. When I called to pay and finally find out the changes made to my estimate the numbers seemed off. After further discussion, I was told that the cost of the rain gutters had been left off the original estimate. I called the salesman and the front office at least 3 times each asking for more information on my quote and I was given the runaround every time I called. They all just passed the buck to the manager who refused to speak with me. It wasn't until my patio was installed that they finally spoke with me about the price again and raised it by $600! They were the lowest price in town for a patio cover, but I was quite disappointed in their service. Buyer beware.

(We weren't able to find any reviews about him at the time, so I'm hoping this will be helpful to someone). I would NOT recommend him or use him ever again! He was very unprofessional, hard to communicate with, pushy & more focused on himself than us as the customer. He pressured us to sign the completion paperwork 3 days before the job was even done! And kept telling us how much money he had out in materials & how long it would take for him to get paid, (our job was financed though the HERO program). He even argued & tried to make us feel bad for not signing. Also, during construction, his builder left a huge 8 inch gap between the pieces that were supposed to overlap to create a covered patio. When we saw this & realized they intended to leave it that way we were very upset & they just continued working saying they built it the way it was designed. Jack eventually said they would fix it but we really had to push him to make it right. Also, the job took longer than he said & then took even longer because they ordered the wrong piece & had to wait for the correct one. And, once the job was completed, they left all the electrical coverings off for the electrical inspection & said they would come back on the same day the electrical inspection was done to button everything back up. But they never came until 2 weeks after the inspection! They also put the rain gutter in the dead center if our patio & instead of the water draining onto the grass, it dumps out onto our concrete & pools up creating a huge mess. Also, Jack said he would provide the Alumawood patio hooks for us & then never did. We contacted him about it for over one month & never got them. Jack Duncan is a liar. We are happy to have a completed patio cover for the summer, but wish we would have used someone more professional & honest who wouldn't have been so stressful to deal with. Beware!
