Ability Construction and Dynamic Kitchen, Bath and Flooring merged March 2024. I hired them for…read moreflooring replacement and renovation of a bathroom. Overall they are very disorganized. Contract never signed because of their errors. From picking the floor grout, shower grout, faucet in the bathroom and pulls on the vanity, they never remembered what was chosen and they had to call multiple times for the information before ordering. Frequently they would say they were returning on a specific day and then never came back for days on end. Prior to walk through they pressured for most of the money promising they were almost done. On day of walk-through the baseboards are not completed including no caulking on 338 feet of the 350 feet of baseboards installed. Also, baseboards are messy with multiple nails holes in many in them, uneven with large gaps between and the tile and baseboard, and some look used. Also, in multiple areas the grout in the flooring has holes in it and uneven tiles. They said they removed and leveled the tiles, but they were never repaired. The grout in the shower floor is uneven with tile edges exposed, hard to walk on. On questioning the foreman about the shower floor grout, which was supposed to be higher quality and easy to clean, he said he was going to check to make sure they used the correct grout, yet he never responded. He also never responded to our claim of the poor grout job overall in shower floor. The grout appears dirty and is hard to clean. On the bathroom floor much of the grout is stained white and it should be tan as ordered. On day of walk through, 83 days into the project, no one arrived. Since that day no further work has been done.

We ended up taking out an fha 203k loan when we purchased to get a jump start on the biggest projects. We had contacted 4 businesses in town for bids. 1 said they couldn't touch a kitchen for less than $50,000. 1 never showed up to the appointment for estimates. 1 was 3 hours late and then bid us very general figures and wouldnt get specific. DA construction was the only company that broke things down line by line, had reasonable pricing, and a personable project manager. We ended up going through this process to get the loan and needed lots of signatures and stuff from the company. Our project manager was always really polite and never complained even when our lending agent dropped the ball and created delays, extra paperwork, etc that effected our project. We ended up deciding on a kitchen remodel, a closet remodel, a new sliding door to the master, and a few other very minor tweaks (adding a few outlets, etc). I had a vision that was pretty good, but we worked together to brainstorm a few of the design solutions that I'm absolutely loving! We were working with a fairly tight budget and I'm also really hands on when it comes to DIY (I like to do some of my own house stuff! It's part of the fun) so we installed the floors, painted the walls, bound the appliances we wanted, and did most of the baseboard ourselves. DA did everything else and I love the way it turned out. There were a few delays and minor bumps along the way, but our project manager ALWAYS made sure we were happy with the end result. Overall it was a good experience! They come back and made things worse did more damage than there originally was they were only doing the floors and damage base boards , door frames, walls. They agreed on making things right came out a third time finally did a decent job , but needed to be out of our house at our own expense weren't wiling to work with us, unplugged cameras we had ( even our baby's camera we use to watch while he's sleeping) , very rude and rain up our electricity bill. We had agreed on the cost and the floor material to be used. After a day or so, it was very evident this company had not done much floor replacement. The scuff marks on the new floor near the refrigerator and washing machine is deep enough in to floor material that even with an electric scrubber, the scuffs could not be removed. The transition point from the walkway to the kitchen has been loose and the screws on the metal plate to the back door is protruding at least 1/3 inches which is dangerous specially if one is not wearing slippers or shoes. I made contact early on there were issues that needed to be fixed but the mistake I made was paying him in full as I have gained his trust based on the previous work done in remodeling the kitchen. In addition to the flooring issue, I had him repair the master bathroom shower where the grout needed to be scraped and regrouted. After the work was done, again I paid him in full. However, a few days later, using the shower, the newly installed grout was coming off and somehow a water spot on the drywall started to appear. I have called him, texted him several times. There were call backs or email responded. It was for sure frustrating. I have learned my lesson. In the future I should make the final payment when I am absolutely sure the work has been done properly. This is my updated review, from a 5* review 2 years ago to a current 2* review. Be aware of this company.

So I called San Joaquin Roofing to come do a repair and agreed to pay $135/man hour "port to port"…read moreplus materials. Two men were here for one hour, smeared some black gunk on the roof, couldn't tell me how much it would be, and then they sent me a $930 bill. I had to about turn into a Karen for an itemized list of costs, because I couldn't figure out how 1 hour of labor from 2 people came out to that. They are charging me for 5.88 "man hours." .88 hours for an operations manager to stop by and check on his guys, and who I do not believe stopped by because I checked my cameras. 1.32 hours for "preparing to come" and "clean up" after leaving. They were sure prepared, showing up without a flash light or step stool that I had to provide. 1.32 hours for driving to and from my house, 15 minutes from their location. So in total, about 4 "man hours" that occurred off site from my house. I've been explaining that they did not explain many of the fees nor include them in the pricing agreement, and they told me they'll send it to collections then. They don't care at all. They seem to think they can just add whatever whoever they want to their "hours" without any notice or explanation.

Their website says they are faith based and we can see the difference in the quality and professionalism in their work. They also contracted a swamp cooler installer and they both coincided their schedules and executed this project very efficiently. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have their roof replaced and or construction project. We are satisfied with their work.
