Robert showed up on time and completed task of reinforcing my cracked fence post with steel supports. They were placed on inside of my backyard, nothing visible from the street. Meanwhile my neighbor is paying for a brick wall ( all three sides) 17k . I'll take my savings and take a Vegas trip instead, my old wood fence is "fine" And my neighbor can spend and spend. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. After a wind storm in Bakersfield, we called Fence Menders for an estimate. We knew from the start this was not good because he started yelling at one of his employees as we were on the phone. We will never do business with this fence company. They went out to do an estimate and only gave us a partial bid on the section of fence that blew down. The other 4 estimates (fence company's) gave us a total with measurements so we could split costs with neighbors. After the half bid, if we wanted to go with Menders , he said he was backed up for months and didn't know when he can do the job,.. no worries... he had the worst attitude and incomplete bid anyway. We went with another fence company that did a fantastic job and way cheaper. Couldn't be more happy we didn't go with Fence Menders. Move ahead 2 months... we get a phone call from Fence Menders.... Stating they will be out next week for an estimate and start the job. We were like WAIT, WHAT??? We already got it fixed. The man via text degraded my wife stating thanks for letting us know, you hire us and don't call us back... again I'm like WHAT??? We never hired this guy, we never committed, we never signed, we never even got a complete bid, and we never got communication on the incomplete bid. This company's customer service and communication is the worst. Talks to their employees like garbage and speaks to customers the same. Do yourself a favor... go with another fence company. UPDATE: no lies, we never committed to you and never got a bid for the full job. All we got was an incomplete bid, and we never committed to using you. Sorry the truth hurts. FYI in the future you shouldn't disrespect people via text messages. We last talked to you over two months ago with zero communication. Asked to have a gate replaced, was told they don't do jobs for less than 400.00 but if I wanted to do the whole fence they would be interested in the job. It is a simple gate replacement. I guess since they have tv commercials at all times a day they can no longer afford to do the little jobs anymore. read more

I had a terrible time trying to get anyone over here for an estimate. Not just an estimate but after we got all the measurements and finally discussed what we wanted plan and layout wise...the guy just disappeared for 6 months. Dodging all my calls, texting and leaving messages with his assistant. I had never dealt with someone as crappy of customer service than this guy. If i recall correctly his name was Chris. Well at the end of the day we got our fence up. Had a bit of a delay of payment towards the company because we had to wait 6 months, why not wait a few weeks for us to pay them. They then gave us a preliminary notice 2 weeks after we paid this company. All and all terrible customer service. Boss should over see the work more often and not put his trust into someone else. read more

Had our fence hanging on by a thread from the past storm, we got a few quotes but fence menders let us know they had an opening last minute and fixed our fence within 2 hours. The fence itself was still in good condition but they added 7 metal poles in cement..so it won't be going anywhere anytime soon! Great owner, and crew very kind and reasonably priced! I would absolutely never recommend this company. Got a quote and decided to hire Fence Menders to repair a falling fence I share with a neighbor. Scheduled appointment for 8:00am and made arrangements with my neighbor so we could both get the day off work. The day before the job I contacted Fence Menders since there was rain forecasted for the day, just in case we needed to reschedule and the neighbor could go to work. His response was, "I doubt it will rain much but if it does I'll still be there trying to work on stuff." 8:00am came the next day and no one had arrived to our scheduled appointment. Messaged them around 9:30am to see if we were still on for the day. Got a reply an hour later saying, "Supposed to be the rain stops by 11 or 12." I ended up just canceling the appointment. And his response was, "Power tools and rain don't mix." This company is unprofessional and unreliable! All they did was waste my time as well as my neighbor's. read more

It is NOT ok to : Forget you've already given an estimate. (We had to send a copy to him) Contact customer at 4:00 am to schedule job. Call again at 6:00 am to check if job is scheduled. Claim I'm lying about details in a conversation that were never discussed, and are not on the estimate. (Apparently there are memory issues) Include a loud argumentative, disrespectful person on the crew. Charge for work that was not required so was not done. And it is NEVER ok for the same low class, disrespectful crew person to urinate on my wall in view of the street and myself! I'm giving one star for the fence and one star for Rick's son who was polite and professional considering the crew he was left with. read more

I contacted Rick a while ago and I had to postpone my repair more than once He was accommodating. We finally set a date and they came early and was done in 3.5 hours. Based off of previous Yelp reviews I decided to call Rick. I'm happy I did because that same day he came out and gave me a reasonable estimate on redwood and steel posts. Rick and his crew came out two days after and replaced the fence (as you can see in the picture) because my neighbor's dogs kept coming into our backyard, broke pickets, etc. Rick's crew worked diligently and completed the task within an hour, if that. Rick has done two fences (different sides of the yard) for us. He showed up on time and gave us reasonable quotes. The fences he builds are better quality than most of what you see around town. The quality of the wood is better and there's a bottom part below the planks that goes into the ground which creates a better barrier if you have a small dog or want to keep small animals out. The fence repair was good BUT I took my car out the following day for the first time. The next morning I had a non repairable flat tire with a nail in it. Had to buy a set of 2 new tires. Came home and found 2 fence screws and one nail in my driveway. I called them and was told they always clean up. Don't think so. Use only if you are going to clean up after them.
