The muffin was super oily, where it seep through the wrapper and bag, which is shocking because the muffin was actually dry and crumbly...not sure how that works. The muffin also lacked any filling, so it was dry and plain, other than the topping, which was way too sweet. The cookie wasn't that bad, I wished that they used dark chocolate because it was really sweet, and a bit hard. The best cookies for me are the ones that are crispy on the outside but soft in the inside, which this one is hard throughout. I personally don't like sweet things so if you have a sweet tooth, definitely check it out - but I was surprised about the muffin as I never seen such an oily muffin before but that's also dry.

The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. The blackforest cake is also lacking in the kirsch taste. I can barely taste it. Maybe I had a such a great tasting blackforest cake before that many places do not match up to it. Bottom line: just get the shortbread cookie. Get the cakes only if you're really craving it and this is the only place nearby for it.

A cut into inside reviews yet another generous clusters of mango. There has to be at least 3 mango in this small cake! Value right there. 2. Unless other "fruit" cakes made of drained canned fruit, this mango cake is 100% mango with a few blueberries on top. Never had I have a more satisfying fruit cake. My husband doesn't like sweet and today he ate over half the cake. 3. This cake has so much mango that the cake feels like it takes only 30-40% of the cake's weight. This little cake weights heavier than most 8" cakes. Mango is a lot more expensive than flour and air. You can get a taste before committing by buying the single piece format.
