Ate here based on all the good reviews. I must say that the food was indeed very delicious. The soups were outstanding. Tastier than those of Olive Garden. My wife loved her Baked Pesto and my Alfredo Supreme (Chicken Alfredo) was also delicious. We also ordered a pesto pizza and I was surprised by how good it was me not being a big fan of pesto. The crime brûlée was okay. There was seating readily available and the staff was attentive. Only real gripe I had about the visit and what was not okay, was 3 of 3 dishes we received to put our pizza on were still dirty. They need a more attentive dishwasher. My family and I literally have Cannataros once a week, no lie. We either order to go or we DoorDash. I feel like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything we've ordered was good. We love their Calzone and pizza. The spicy marinara adds so much flavor. The size/portions are pretty generous. The lasagna and baked ziti was also delicious. So let me start off by saying the food is always good! The prices are pretty good, considering the portions are generous. So really, 5 stars on the food. I'm giving only 3 stars because of the service... or lack there of. On this particular evening my friend and I were celebrating our birthdays. We didn't let our server know and I'm soooo glad didn't. The service was not great. He never, not once, came to check on us, or ask us how everything was. We ordered appetizers, the pasta carbonara (EXCELLENT choice by the way), 2 glasses of wine, dessert, and coffee. We were there for about an 1 1/2 or so, and as soon as we finished our coffee we were asked, by our server, to leave to make room for another party. To be fair there was ONE party waiting, and we were getting ready to leave anyway... but to be ASKED to leave? We weren't loud or disruptive, or bringing any attention to ourselves. Maybe it's the fact that we prayed over our meal before we ate? I can understand if they were busy and had several parties waiting in the lobby, or if we had been there for more than two hours. This request did not sit well with either one of us, but we left, because like I said, we were getting ready to leave anyway. I come here with my family, pretty frequently, and my friend and I come to celebrate our birthdays because we love the food. In the future, I will probably just order to go, so we won't have to be. "asked" to leave the restaurant. Too bad because the restaurant is really cozy and welcoming; that's why we enjoy being there so much. Oh, well. Can't have everything. read more

Was very disappointed. We placed an order online and when we got to the restaurant, they informed us that one of the dishes we ordered could not be made because they were out of an ingredient(it happens I understand that) we asked for a refund for that item and were informed they couldnt do that. instead they gave us extra cheese bread and a creme brulee. When we got home and opened the bags the creme brulee was a melted mess it looked like they put butter in a pan and melted it then burnt it. The cheese bread was placed on top of each other with foil between layers and the cheese came off when trying to separate the layers. On top of that their ordering system online automatically adds a 20% tip to your order. so, buyer beware you pay for service that you didn't even receive. Would not recommend this. service continues to decline at each visit. read more

So sad! we hadn't visited the restaurant for some time. We went on Father's Day and it wasn't even busy. We waited for 45 minutes for our soup and salad. When we asked our server about it she said they were heating the soup! When she came back with our salads she said she thought someone else had brought them out to us. We never did get the soup!!! Our entrees followed within one minute. She told us to be careful because the plates were hot. Our veal Parmesan and chicken parm were burned and tough and worst of all, COLD! First time here...do they all hate their jobs? No one smiles. We walked in, no one greeted us. We sat down on the bench, none of the waiter bothered asking if we needed a table. We ordered 1 starter (garlic knots) with 2 entrees (sun dried tomato penne primavera & mushroom ravioli in creamy garlic sauce) for 3 adults. The garlic knots were not the best I have had and I would recommend skipping them as the garlic bread they give for free is actually more flavorful. We also ordered a peach italian creme soda but it was not super flavorful and tasted more like creme and soda water with a faint peach taste. The entrees come with salad or soup. As it was a hot summer day we ordered salad to go with both dishes and 2 salads were enough for 3 people. The entrees were both really flavorful and did not disappoint. As mentioned, the portion sizes and quantity is well worth the price, making this place a great value find. Our server was attentive and friendly. Dinner: This is where it starts to goes downhill and I don't think it's because we were slightly full lol the chicken Alfredo which was what I ordered was not good at all I couldn't even eat it... The chicken had a weird smell as if it was old and it was a watery based chicken (hope you guys know what I mean) the Alfredo sauce was watery no thickness at all just plain watery consistency. My bf in the other hand liked the Alfredo but he agreed the Alfredo sauce could of been thicker. Then my bf ordered the lasagna and he hated it because the pasta was overly cooked. Since this is based on MY review i will rate off my review ...I love overly cooked pasta to me the lasagna was amazing had so much cheese and it was soft and melted in my mouth. Dessert : I got the cheese cake slice and let me tell you I AM A CHEESECAKE FANATIC ! Diane and I arrived for an evening dinner and opened with good light classic Calamari Fritti accompanied by good but not very spicy Marinara Sauce. I then spooned a very good cup of Italian Wedding Soup that contained both small meatballs and pieces of chicken. It was cold inside the restaurant, but the soup was hot. Complimentary Garlic Bread was both very tasty and addictive. I pretty much downed a whole loaf by myself by mid-meal. My side Caesar Salad with cut up Romaine and Creamy Caesar Dressing was fairly ordinary, and my somewhat chewy entree of Veal Picatta was not quite fork tender but came with an intriguing lemony White Wine Sauce and capers. Meanwhile, Diane ate half of her satisfactory classic Penne Alfredo. Entree portions were large. Service by our server Suzy was very good, and the seating was comfortable in a casual setting. The presentation of the meal itself was well attuned to that of a fine ristorante, but serving Iced Tea in a plastic container marked "Pepsi" struck a somewhat discordant note. I went to Cannataro's for a family celebration dinner. This was the first time I had ever been to this eating establishment. It was in the evening and I believe it was getting close to closing time. I ordered Capellini Pomodoro. This is usually the go-to dish when I eat at Italian restaurants due to me not eating beef or pork. Everyone received their meals and seemed satisfied with the presentation of their dishes. However, when I received my plate, it looked as if they topped off my pasta with a ladle full of bruschetta mix that you would find on some type of bread. Unfortunately, that is exactly what it tasted like. Not to mention, it was also room temp. It wasn't even warm. I ate maybe a third of the meal and couldn't eat anymore. I was over it. Now the fun part. I started to feel sick no more than an hour and a half after eating the "bruschetta pasta." Very bloated, nauseous, along with abdominal pain. This was the beginning of a very long night of food poisoning. I was pretty much on the toilet every 10-30 minutes throughout the first night. I was ill approximately 2 days. I vouched to NEVER eat at Cannataro's EVER again. I just happened to talk to a friend about my experience when they told me they used to work there. They said it was more than likely the bruschetta because the restaurant makes a big batch of it early in the day to use throughout the day. Because we were there towards closing basically means I got "the bottom of the barrel" and they would store it in a big can. They also confirmed that the restaurant does in fact use the bruschetta mixture for the Capellini Pomodoro dish; not the actual cooked sauce. The picture posted is straight from their online menu. The top of the pasta is definitely a bruschetta mix that does not look cooked. I highly recommend staying away from this place unless you are wanting to prep for a colonoscopy. If you choose to dine there, then my suggestion would be to steer clear of the Cappelini Pomodoro. read more

First time I tried calling to place an order for pick up the number went straight to a message asking to call a different number so I did and the owner answered and said she was on her way to the restaurant and she would call back.. she never did. Second (different day) time after 2 times calling we finally got through and were asked to hold before ordering.. we waited 12 minutes and decided to hang up. Third time, we had to call a total of 8 times for them to answer the phone because it kept going to voicemail and at this point we just think it's ridiculous that this restaurant doesn't want to make business. I've never had this much problem trying to order food. Plus they also charge for extra bread when you order take out. read more

I'll be honest, when I first saw all the 5 stars, I figured the restaurant was either asking patrons to write reviews for free desserts or friends were writing them. After having dined here for dinner, I understand the hype. It's a small mom and pop restaurant and the food is pretty good! We went on a Saturday for early dinner and our party of 4 adults and 2 kids were seated right away. We definitely beat the rush because we saw that there was a big wait by the time we were done with our meal. The complementary garlic bread is buttery and hot. The wedding soup is delicious, as everyone claims. Their pastas and pizzas checked out as more than okay by our party. The only thing to consider is that the food does take time to prepare so don't go when you're hangry because then you'll pretty much end up filling up on their yummy bread. Also, I ordered buttered pasta for my little one and when it came out it had cheese on it. I didn't know that it came with cheese since I didn't specify, but our little one doesn't like anything on her pasta... not even cheese. I would have asked them to change it but our food had already taken awhile so I didn't want to wait any longer. I just washed off the penne in a cup of water and fed her a proper meal when we got home. Overall, good food, nice ambiance, and it looks as though the people there are all regulars, which speaks volumes for their service. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

I've dined here twice with my wife. Really good food and servers. The dough knots are ridiculously good. So is the caprese. The calzone is a classic. I have been to this place a few times and had a great experience, I went there in 12/14/24 in the evening to celebrate my daughter's 2nd bday and was a horrible experience. We were a party of 6 smashed into a booth could not get a highchair for my baby, asked for a coffee and got iced tea. Server seemed pissed off because we asked for the correct drink, gave us the wrong soup. Just horrible horrible experience. Will not go back.
