This Cane Rosso wins my heart way over the one by Deep Ellum, not because of the pizza necessarily, but because of the amount of space, seating, and of course free parking! It was a bit confusing trying to find this place along this weird hill, but once you see the giant CANE ROSSO wall where you park, it's smooth sailing, my friends! Ambience: Digging the hipster vibe of this place and if you like Austin-y type places then you'll know what I mean, but the outside patio area is perfect for parties of 4-6 (maybe even 8) when the weather's nice and the inside has more tables than the Deep Ellum one, or maybe just seems like it, so even if there was a wait, it would be worthwhile! Pizza (Onto the good stuff): For a party of around 5 I would definitely recommend ordering 3 different pizzas to share for variety sake as well as maybe a salad to start with to pique your appetite a bit before your Neapolitan pie is served. Your thin crusted pizza is baked in a legit brick oven in under a couple minutes, so you can expect Cane Rosso to deliver (Hah, deliver! Okay. Just me? Cool!) A few of the ones I've tried are the: Zoli which would be one of my favorites for sure with a good balance of pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella and basil, the Ella, and then the Che Cazzo (which is fun to say), which is good for people who love mushrooms and are the spicy loving type! it's not that spicy though! Hands down, best pizza in town! I love Cane Rosso and am so happy that they opened up a second location out near White Rock! It's a little bit confusing, but if you end up wandering around at the bottom level of the shopping center (like me), just go up the hill and delicious pizza awaits you as a reward. I came on a Friday night and to my delight, was able to bring my pup Lyra and sit out on the deck. We were joined by some more furry four-legged friends and we had a blast watching the puppy pawty. The deck has a really cool ambiance, which I can only describe as desert shabby chic deco - you'll get it once you see it. There's also a large water feature, gravel flooring, and awesome succulents all around. All in all, the restaurant has a great patio for a casual night out with friends. I love their gooey neopolitan pizza. It's simple, but oh so good. The mozzarella is as fresh as it gets and I'm usually not a crust fan, but I love Cane Rosso crust. My party got the Special K pizza, a Margherita pizza, and the Lasagna (which is only available on Fridays and Saturdays). All was scrumptious, but when comparing the Special K to the Margherita, I give a slight nod to the Special K. They are both very similar, but the Special K has no sauce but is topped with balsamic roasted grape tomatoes - YUM. In contrast, the Margherita pizza has tomato sauce (along with the standard mozzarella and basil) - you can see the Margherita pizza in my pictures. The only gripe I have about the place is the service was a bit off. I got my lasagna almost immediately, 3 minutes tops after I ordered, but the rest of my party had to receive their pizzas. Now I sat there salivating with a beautiful piece of lasagna in front of me, with a thick of slice of Parmesan just staring at me....daring me to eat it. But I had willpower and manners, and waited patiently for about 10 minutes for the rest of my party to receive their food. For those who don't know, Neapolitan pizza has certain standards that must be met in order to be considered true Neapolitan. If you've never had one, think of it as a gourmet Margherita pizza. While the menu is extensive, most pizzas will include house made mozzarella and crushed San Marzanos tomatoes. Since they utilize a very hot oven, powered by woodfire, the pizzas are cooked in a mere 70 seconds. The restaurant has an open kitchen design, so feel free to entertain yourself with watching the kitchen work, and see/smell all of the delicious pizzas pulled out of the oven. The service is friendy, prompt, and attentive. We ordered the Zoli pizza, which I highly recommend, but honeslty, you can't go wrong with any of the choices. We LOVE Cane Rosso pizza! The service it another story. Management lacks and is rude. I understand Covid has its challenges, but we're officially one year in, and it seems as if they still haven't figured out how to handle their to go orders. There have been times I've stood there waiting for pizza already sitting in a pizza bag on the counter. It doesn't appear they communicate much, as I watched my pizza be placed on the shelf and no one said a peep. Luckily, about 15 minutes later, someone came back through and checked on waiting pizzas. Perhaps they should adopt the style of calling out to go orders similar to Starbucks. I unknowingly ordered on their $10 pizza day. That was a disaster. Aside from the to be expected 20 min online wait time, I waited an additional hour in a line that snaked outside the building. Since they can't handle daily to go orders, this was a terrible promotion from a customer standpoint. Last night (3/6/21), we had friends in town and really wanted them to try our favorite pizza. We arrived asking for a table for 9. We got the standard inside/outside question. Inside was an hour wait, so I asked about outside to which I was first ignored then rudely told an hour. We still opted to wait. Less than FIVE minutes later, we were seated outside at 2 different booths. It's kind of weird to have your back towards your dinner companions, especially when there's a long bench and two tables side by side that would've easily accommodated us. One of our visitors asked the manager to be moved to that table. We got another long table instead, and we were satisfied. However, when she delivered our pizzas, she commented that we changed tables three times. Super witchy and unprofessional. It was as if they didn't want customers. What a great pizza place! In an area I used to think that wasn't the greatest in Dallas this spot has come in and helped lifted the spirits of the area. Coupled with great service and a nice, yet casual atmosphere, Cane Rosso brings thin and flavorful pizza at a price that won't break the bank. Great place to take a date - or the family. We tackled the ceasar salad first. It was fresh, crisp and wasn't swimming with dressing. The dressing was light and complimented the lettuce well. Really enjoyed it. They proved even simple can be done just right. If you are looking for Chicago style deep dish, or crappy Pizza Hut pizza, this isn't the place for you. Yum. Get here early, this place gets crowded quickly on the weekends. Large space that seats a ton of people. We sat outside- they probably have 10 or 12 tables out there, some of them being large picnic style tables that can cater to large parties. Dogs are welcome as well, beware of them trying to steal a slice. Tried a variety of pizza, salad, and a giant sandwich. A sandwhich could easily be split between two people. Everything tasted good. Fresh ingredients and the pizza came out pretty quickly. On a nice day, sitting out on the patio is definitely the way to go. Is it better than Olivella's? Not sure. FYI "Cane" is pronounced "kah-nay" and not "kain" lol I visit Dallas now and then, and Cane Rosso has always been on my to-try list due to rave reviews from friends. I came into town from Houston on the later side one night and decided to hit up the White Rock location since I didn't want to bother with Deep Ellum parking. A big parking lot and spacious interior of the restaurant made my dining experience so much better, especially after the hellacious 4-hour drive from Houston (I hate you, 45). I plopped down at the bar, and the bartender was really attentive and explained everything about the place since it was my first time. I'll have to admit - this was my first time eating Neapolitan pizza, and it isn't my favorite. The dough is, personally, just a bit too thin and chewy. It's not the fault of the restaurant, though, because that's the way it's supposed to be served! I think. Anyway, I ordered the Honey Bastard, which is one of their "secret menu" items, taking the pepperoni pizza and topping it with a spicy honey sauce and bacon marmalade (the Honey Badger is the same minus the bacon). STELLAR combination, and the dough actually made for a really nice canvas to highlight the different flavors. The Honey Bastard tastes super familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. It somehow reminds me of Asian food, but like I said - I don't know why it does! If anyone could clue me in on that, it'd be much appreciated. Since I came by myself, one pizza was more than enough for my lonesome, but it might not be enough for 2. Next time I'm back (and there will be a next time!), I would elect to indulge in the dessert pizzas so long as I have someone with me :) Then 1 savory pizza would be enough! The 00 flour is really high in quality and you can taste the difference when you compare it to pizza anywhere else. The Delia pizza is a must have if you like a little savory and bacon sweetness. The Delia is a little soggy but that's due to the fresh house made mozzarella and hand crushed tomatoes releasing liquid in the brick oven when baked on the pizza I think. The location is confusing as it is not on Gaston but behind the strip center... not a big deal. The wait was 30 minutes for indoor dining and 45-60 minutes for patio. .. choose the patio. The noise level in the restaurant is way too loud and makes it impossible to carry on a conversation without over talking and adding to the problem. This is what kept me from enjoying this place. It wasn't a good experience... at all. Food - I ordered the meatballs for an appetizer and it was really good. Flavor was great and the marinara added to the flavor. There is a secret menu for Cane Rosso which I don't know why it is a secret menu because everybody needs to know how good their secret menu item, the honey bastard, is. I'm really impressed by this pizza place! Some friends in Dallas recommended we come for dinner and being pro Yelp users, I completely trust their judgement. Since it was a nice day we sat outside. The outdoor seating is huge and very dog friendly. We had the focaccia bread, Larry salad and antipasti as starters. Everything was delicious. The salad was huge and easily fed all 5 of us. The focaccia is warm and soft with an awesome flavor. The antipasti mix was also very good, with a large range of items. We got 2 pizzas, the capricciosa and luana. Although both were good, I preferred the luana. It had a little more bite. I found the capricciosa a bit bland and the moist ingredients made the center soggier than I liked. They said these pizzas would be soggy so I expected that. The crust was soft and tasty though. We didn't stay for dessert but I definitely want to try it next time I come back. read more

Place was nice and clean. Atmosphere was great. Read so many reviews so I was ready to try a slice. Started with a salad and an order of brussel sprouts, they were good. I tried the "pie of the month" which was the Sol y Luna it was pretty tasty. One half was moon shaped and consisted of a colzone and the other side was the sun and was all pepperoni. I also tried the Frankie which was ok. The dessert Nutella pie was the best one in my opinion and I am not so big on Nutella. Over all.. I am not sure if I would go back tho... honestly felt like it was hyped up. Was not really a fan of the crust or the fact that most of the food was a little burnt. Best pizza in Dallas! No if's, and's or but's about it!! Been here three times so far, and every time was just as good as the first. That's hard to do usually. First two times had the zoli pizza. It was so amazing the first time I had to get it again. So when I went back the third time... I had to try something else. This time I got the Che cazzo. Which doesn't tell you what was on it, but the bartender told me. It was def spicy like it says it is, but just as good as the zoli. I have to say, the hot suppresata is just amazing. We tried one of the pastas and it was very tasty. Definitely fresh pasta and that was noticeable! The third time happened to be on a Friday night and I'm so glad it was, because this time I tried the lasagna. Which they only make on Friday and Saturday dinners. This was probably the best lasagna I've ever had at any restaurant. It was amazing. Every bite was just delicious. As far as appetizers, I've tried the meatballs and they were very good. I've also had the fries dough(forget the name damn it) and it was good, but will fill you up very fast. Good for a group of people. I'm not a huge pizza fan but I love cane Rosso! The space at this location is roomy but romantic, with a very heart in the city kind of vibe. The staff is super friendly. As for the food, everything is delicious. I really like their salads, which are bright, flavorful, interesting and large portions. My favorite one is the Capra with dried cherries, nuts and goat cheese. Now the pizzas: they are all lovely. They are somewhere between a normal pie size and single portion but that being said if you get another dish they are totally shareable but even without a shared side, finishing one would be pretty hard--so really depends on how hungry you are. The flavors are pretty yummy, including the margarita, Cassie and the Gus. But compared to my favorite pizzas , those flavors are nothing! The absolute show stoppers here are hands down the honey badger and the honey bastard ( the later has soppressata which is the only difference)! Highly recommend as this is one of my favorite pizzas ever. And if you have room, the desserts aren't bad --- I'm particular to the Edgar. One of my favorite artisanal pizza spots! Another Diners Drive ins and dives joint for me but instead of the Deep Ellum location I went to Jackson to see another Dallas Neighborhood. This gives you a better parking situation and you don't loose the food or atmosphere. It's a cool place but the chatter is loud inside. No worries, growing up I'm a larger Italian family this is normal. The menu is terrific but there are few past choices and the Lasagna is only available on the weekends. It's a Pizza joint anyway so lets get to it. Fantastic selection and terrific ingredients creative combinations this place is a gem. The sauce is delicious the cheese is perfect and the dough is excellent. They flash cook your pie in their domed wood fire oven so it comes out chewy and a bit gooey. I should have asked for a little crispyness. If you want some crunch ask for a few extra seconds on the deck. I had the OMB which was a pizza created for Prostrate cancer awareness and stand for Ouch My Balls. To inch an cheek because the pie had meatballs sausage and other great toppings. I had them add the Bacon Marmalade to it and it was really good but a bit sweet. Wish I has some red pepper flakes to add heat to the sweet but I ate it the way they made it and I liked it! Prices were fair much better all around than Louie's from a few night ago. This is a great place to brim the family or a date or even for a Lonely business traveler who is a total foodie! Deep Ellum may cater more to a single/childless couples/working professional/hipster/trendy crowd, but this location caters to singles and couples, but most especially to families getting together. They have a lot more room to seat larger groups. The patio looks romantic with chandeliers hanging from trees. Next time that is where I want to sit. The larger dining room is nice, but I wanted more romantic lighting away from the fluorescent lights of the bar and kitchen and the family noise. I love the Deep Ellum location for the posh style, but I also applaud this location for expanding to a different audience. The pizza... OMG... try the Quatro Formaggi... hope I spelled that correctly. Excellent. Our salad, the Mista, was awesome. We got a large for 2 and it seemed daunting, but we ate it and had room for pizza. I was looking up pizza places near me and Cane Rosso came up, I'm so glad it did! This pizza is flavorful with a nice thin crust, I have tried johnny Utah, CBF, zoli, PBR, roni one, honey bastard, jabroni, and the cane rosso! I was going once or twice a week, plus it's close to home. My favorites at the moment is honey bastard and roni one and I add the luscher sausage to it. Omg so good and you will not be disappointed! The flavor of the pizza sauce is great and I love the bacon marmalade. This pizza is so much better than the other pizza chains out there. I ate here this weekend for a friend's birthday dinner. The outdoor patio has a fun, open atmosphere for groups, pets allowed! We ordered foccacia, an Italian bread topped with herbs, which was very tasty. A friend of ours recommended the brussel sprouts, topped with straciatella and shaved almonds; they were absolutely phenomenal! The pizza was pretty good as well. We ended the night with zeppole, for dessert which I was also very impressed by. These are sweet Italian donut balls coated in powdered sugar, served with a hot chocolate sauce. Yum! This was actually my second visit to Cane Rosso. There is much better parking here than at the Deep Ellum location. Food (5/5) I used to only ever get one thing: the Honey Bastard. It's an off-menu pizza that is served with soppressata (Italian dry salami), bacon marmalade, and then drizzled with jalapeno honey for the ultimate spicy and sweet kick. Cane Rosso is king at Neapolitan-style pizza, so it's a thinner crust and cooks in a stone oven for no more than 90 seconds. With the Honey Bastard, the jalapeno honey makes the pizza a little flimsy / soggy to hold, but it's SO GOOD that I just eat it in record time so that it doesn't matter. On my last visit though, I got introduced to the second thing I will always order: the Lady Bird. Cane Rosso, please make this a permanent thing!! It's a dessert pizza topped with mascarpone, Nutella, and Trader Joe's cookie butter, and it's just as amazing as it sounds!!! I've posted photos of both my Honey Bastard and Lady Bird, but damnit... my pictures and Cane Rosso's dim lighting don't do these pizzas justice. Service (4/5) We were quoted a 1.5 hour wait, but you can track your spot in the queue through your smartphone via the NoWait app. Ultimately, our wait was only 45 min - 1 hr. I really enjoyed the transparency Cane Rosso had in utilizing this app since I could see in real-time how many parties were in front of us as well as the estimated amount of time remaining until our table was ready. Conveniently, the waiting area is composed of a high-top table / counter and is right next to the bar so you can grab a drink while you wait. Once seated, the waiter was very friendly and was thorough in describing all the pizzas to first-timers in our group. Atmosphere (5/5) The White Rock Lake location is my FAVORITE. I know Deep Ellum is the original, but you can't beat (1) free and ample parking and (2) a really sweet outdoor patio perfect for warm weather. This is a perfect place to take a large group of friends to hang out. Overall, it's a long wait for a table, but the pizza comes out quickly after you've ordered. After hearing so much hype about this place, I finally got around to trying this pizza joint. To make the most out of my trip here, my group and I decided to get one savory and one sweet pizza. The savory pizza we got was the honey badger and it was good. I wouldn't say it's the best pizza I've ever had, but that's mainly because I like a few more toppings on my pizzas. I did still like the combination of the honey with the meat (which had a spicy kick to it). Although I'm the person that never needs to get dessert or always advises against it to get more savory dishes, the dessert pizza we got was AMAZING. It was called The Ladybird and wow, the combination of cookie butter, nutella, and a few other heavenly flavors made this pizza so good. Sure, it felt like I was probably going to get diabetes from the pizza, but it was well worth it. Absolutely one of the best, if not the best, pizza place in town. I am thankful that they opened up this location closer to home. My only note worthy observation was that the servers were wondering around with food in their hand, not knowing which table it belong to. We were approached twice with other people's food. Jamie and I ate here this weekend, and it is essentially a family/neighborhood version of the Deep Ellum location, and thoroughly enjoyed it: Vibe: Tons of lily white families and kids, the outdoor patio is lovely on a pleasant day, and the inside is hip, with lots of hard surfaces and noise. Food: Fantastic, just like the original location in Deep Ellum. We had the best fried artichokes we've ever had, and loved a pizza, local brewski (Mosaic IPA, mmm) and glass o red. To give context for this review: I am far from a generous judge of pizza. Since I came back to the States from a stint in Bologna, Italy, I've been disappointed time and again with sad preservative-laden Americanized "Italian" food, but Cane Rosso was such a pleasant surprise! First off (and unrelated to Italian authenticity, but still oh-so-important to note), the mimosas are strong, yummy, and, best of all, only $1! Get your meal started the right way! We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer. They were cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside - and topped with a tasty balsamic reduction. Delicious and nutritious! On to the highlight of the meal: the pizzas! We got 2: the vegetale, which was topped with mozzarella and seasonal veggies - caramelized onions, green beans, seasoned mushrooms, eggplant, and heirloom tomatoes - and the che cazzo (which, btw, in Italian means, "wtf"), a spicy sausage, pepper flakes, pepperoni, red pepper, artichoke, and mozzarella delight. The crust was thin, but still solid enough to pick up the slices, nicely baked, and delicious! The mozzarella was super fresh and just salty enough. The caramelized onions made each bite just a little sweeter. There literally was no part of the meal we didn't love! Pizzas range from $12-$16, which is reasonable for their quality and size; the freshness of the ingredients; and the prime location (we came here after a pleasant morning walk through the Dallas Arboretum). This pizza was absolutely delicious! We had Cane Rosso classic pizza with peppers onions and sausage and lotsof cheese! It was cooked in a brick oven just right. For dessert we had tiramisu which was so gigantic we only ate part of it even though we shared. It's close to the Dallas arboretum if you are up for pizza. read more

Best pizza in the metroplex - hands down! I prefer this location over the one in deep ellum, because it's much quieter and way less busy. The honey bastard is definitely the way to go for dinner and the lady bird for dessert! read more
