I have no idea why this place doesn't have stellar ratings. I placed an order for a large margarita pie with pepperoni for pickup. When I arrived 15 minutes later, the pie was done and piping hot. I've lived in Brooklyn for years prior to moving to Texas and I've been to the original Grimaldi's. Maybe this one was a tad worse but it was definitely incredible. I think it's the best pizza in the DFW area, and it's not even close. I can't wait to come back. read more

This is true fresh brick oven pizza with a thin perfect crust. The crust has a light crunch fresh sauces. I also had the bruschetta not pictured but the absolute best appetizer nice serving sizes. The customer service was excellent the host knew the menu items and menu shares best wine with what pizza. The ambiance is very Italian New York feel ambiance with great music of New York. Friendly greeter at the door, attentive waiter although for some odd reason three staff people were always hanging around the bar, pizza could have been much better if they didn't skimp on the sauce, whole areas were barren and that just means way too much hurrying through the process. Typically the coal fired brick oven pizzas have a little more flavor. The toppings appeared to have been pre-prepared making it more factory like than it should be. But seriously? Great pizza, even better service. Donna, the general manager, made us feel like family. One of our pizzas came out smaller than expected, and without even asking they provided another pizza free of charge. And the quality? Incredible. The crust is spectacular; the coal oven really gives it an authentic taste. The cheese and sauce are great as well. And the service? Top notch. The pizza tasted great! The stars given are for the following: The A/C was broken and we were told it had been broken a couple of weeks. They propped open the doors once we asked them too. It was hot and uncomfortable and many in our party were sweating the whole time. We had a birthday at our party and the rewards code was good for a 16 inch, unknowingly at the time, the birthday person ordered a 12 inch. With that said, we paid for the birthday pizza, when I'm sure it could have been accommodated for. The white sangria tasted extremely watered down, according to two of our guests. read more

Grimaldi's = If I could give them 20 stars it would be here - wow oh wow the food. We ordered from here because we stayed at the Canopy (which has no restaurant). We had a large pizza (no we did not eat all of it) fresh mozzarella yum - Italian Sausage, Garlic, Onions. We also ordered Cannoli's for my husband - my husband enjoyed it so much - he said it was mouth watering I had a hand crafted Calzone- huge as all get out - could never eat the entire thing - Fresh Mozzarella, Garlic, Onions and Jalapeños. My favorite place in town for pizza! Despite it being a chain, it tastes like a good classic new york style slice right here in Dallas. I always forget to take a picture since I eat it so fast! Classic pizza is the only way too go for me, the sauce and cheese is too good. I've yet to try a pizza with toppings from here. Prices are definitely on the high side compared to other chain pizza places, but the prices are somewhat justified in my opinion. They do run specials here and there like carry out specials, wine specials and appetizers specials on the Grimaldi's App. They have a patio where you can enjoy food outside along with your pup! Always see a variety of dogs and families on the patio when it's nice out. Food here is definitely meant to be shared, so come with a group! read more

Love love love Grimaldi's. I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always delicious and service is great. I love going on the nights when they have 1/2 off wine. I think it's Tuesday or maybe Wednesday? They have outdoor seating where you can bring your dog, which is great since they are so close to Mutts. I have a gluten allergy (not celiac). Although you are certainly at risk for cross contamination at a place like this, I personally have never gotten sick after eating here. They outsource their gluten free crust like most places. It's hard to find a good gluten free crust and this one is one of my favorites. It's thin and crunchy. I always build my own pizza with regular sauce and for toppings I do chicken, ricotta, artichoke and pesto. read more

We came here last Sunday with a large group from our Sunday School class and they put us in a nice room with a long table. Steve was our server and I will say that he did a fantastic job of explaining everything to us making sure that everyone's order was correct and provided a little humor along the way. We have been fans of Grimaldi's Pizzeria since we lived in NYC and used to go to the original one under the Brooklyn Bridge. We are happy they came to Texas! Since there is no Grimaldi's where we live, we always make an effort to go eat in the different restaurants in cities we visit. We love the salads, especially the Kale one. The pizzas are fenomenal but know that the least toppings the better. We love their pepperoni pizza with fresh basil and always go home with a large pie or two for latter. Grimaldi's pizza is wonderful. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, especially the ricotta and olives. As was stated by another person DO NOT ORDER FROM UBER EATS! Somehow they absolutely failed at picking up one pizza and getting it to our house 10 minutes away. We called Grimaldi's and not one, not two, but three Uber eats drivers had showed up to get our order. They had given it to the first person and we never saw it. Uber Eats customer service was useless in explaining where our pizza went or helping us. Grimaldi's on the other hand went above and beyond. My partner grew up in Brooklyn and Grimaldi's is about the only pizza in Dallas she won't scoff at. I have to admit I really like the pizza as well. However this is the second time we have encountered a serious issue. This Sunday we drove to this location from west of the DNT. Arrived just before 3pm. Upon arrive we were told there would be no pizza as the "ovens were being stoked". This is the second time. Once after we had actually ordered and this time on arrival. You have two ovens. Can you not stoke one while cooking in the other then switch once the first comes up to temp? I have worked a lot of service jobs and most managers will do ANYTHING to keep the till ringing. If I was running the place I would definitely NEVER be dead in the water like that. Your business lists open and your doors are open, be open. Been going to Coal Vines for over a decade and never experienced anything like this. If you are going to unable to do business at least have a way that customers can know before making the drive. Three stars because Tracey at Grimaldi's was awesome. However I ordered through Uber Eats and all I can tell you is DON'T!!! Uber Eats is awful. They were 1/2 hour late and charged me an extra $13.72 to get my food to me on time. I called customer support in the Philippines and ended up speaking to 4 useless Filipinos. I have dear friends who are Filipino but the ones I talked to were useless and did NOTHING. The delivery driver was a dud and was very poor with customer service. For a $35 pizza, not worth it at all. The pIzza was watery from all the toppings and it wouldn't stick on the dough. When you grab a slice all the toppings would just slide off the dough. We went in today for the first time. Service was very pleasant and casual. There is an outdoor area and we would love to go back to sit outside on a nice day. We ordered The Don and the waiter accommodated our differing tastes by putting jalapeños only on half the pizza. When the waiter brought out the pizza, he informed us that they think it's "soggy" so they gave us a second pizza replacement. We ended up taking the second pizza home bc the first one was still delicious! They offered a free dessert for us because it was our first time in to the restaurant. Hello, I dined at this Cityplace Grimauldi's on Black Friday 2019 and I found the service and the employees quite delightful. They were polite and accommodating. We were a large party so it took maybe 45 ish minutes to sit, however, given the holiday/friday night buzz, I believe this time was completely acceptable. I was sorry to see some customers (an annoying man in a stupid salmon-colored sweater and a receding hairline) giving some staff grief. All the ladies (and gentlemen) were super polite and lovely and they should get a high five for putting up with the Black Friday Crazies.
