I really wanted to like this place. I really did. It's right down the street and I try to support small businesses. I am not able to get manicures or pedicures very often, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. So when I treat myself to a mani/pedi, obviously I am looking for the best experience. Honestly, I had a feeling that this would not be my best experience judging by their joke of a parking lot and the fact that no one has reviewed this place since 2018. Nonetheless, I gave it a shot! Back to the parking lot. There is maybe 3 parking spaces in the front. They are at an angle, so it is difficult to park unless you are approaching from a certain direction. There is much better parking in the back, but that is all employee vehicles. The woman at the door was very friendly. There was one other friendly employee, and that was about it. Unfortunately, I was not either of their customer. Now, for the pedicure portion of our program. My pedicure was almost a joke. The leg/foot scrub portion of a pedicure is my VERY. FAVORITE. PART. That part of my pedicure was practically non-existent. The woman put the scrub on my leg, then used her hands to move it to my foot in one motion.....and then washed it off. There was no scrubbing. None. Then, comes the part when that dead skin is removed from the soles of my feet, right? HAHA! Just kidding! NOPE. I mean, there was a little motion there. But, I left with rough feet. At least my toe nails look great! Our final category is the manicure. My mani was alright. Nothing special. It was an okay mani. I did think it was odd that the person doing my manicure cut my fingernails with the cuticle trimmer. But, whatever works! She did a pretty good job on my manicure. I got a little more of a "massage" with lotion on my arms and hands. That's an improvement from my pedi. My fingernails also look great! "That's all I have to say about that." - Forrest Gump I was originally going to give this place 2 stars. But, since no one was rude and the polish on both my fingers and my toes looks great, I added a star. I get regular polish, not shellac or dip or anything. So, for it to look good, and last, makes a difference. read more

Great, small nail salon right across from Episcopal High. I was in the neighborhood so I just walked in. Alexander gave me a pedicure and he worked his but off until my feet were as soft as a baby's bottom. They don't have a massive polish selection, but I still managed to find an on trend purplish grey in the vast array of pinks and reds. This place isn't too far from my apartment I guess... may have to make this my new go-to place. read more

I'm new to town, but this place blew me away. I echo the earlier review that they take their time with you and practice excellent customer service. The spa pedicure is $35, includes exfoliant, paraffin, and foot/leg massage, and was easily the longest and most thorough spa pedicure I've ever had. Lahn (sp?) took her time and did an amazing job. This place is under new ownership for the last two months, and they are making a real effort to win over new clients. DONE. They have nails, wax, facials, and three chairs for haircuts. read more

I have been searching for a place I can go during lunch, that is clean, friendly and quick, while doing a good job. I believe that I have found it. It was also quiet and they had the doors and windows open which gave it an open and relaxing feel. I will be back for sure! read more

Should give 1 star but the manicurist did try. Had shellac polish and she refused to use the timer on the machine. I kept telling her it's not safe to keep a hand under the UV light so long that your fingers are hot. I kept taking them out and she kept telling me to put them back in. Someone needs to tell the Asian manicurists that pulling on and popping the customers' fingers IS NOT a massage !!! Also, I have never ever left a manicure with gritty hands. I came here today because of the reviews that I read online. Really liked the place and staff. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome. My nails look great and my eyebrow wax looks good too. The price is reasonable to other locations but the attention received her is unlike other places. You don't feel rushed or herded around. I will be coming back and I recommend this place. read more

First time here today and I was impressed. I had my pedicure and manicure done at the same time, a 10 minute arm and leg massage to go with my basic pedicure, and both the women working on my nails were so friendly (but also not too talkative). Plus, they didn't scoff when I realized I forgot to bring cash for a tip and nicely told me I could incorporate it into my credit card receipt. Overall, $50 for a shellac manicure and basic pedicure is very reasonable. 1 star deducted only for the lack of parking - 5 spots total which is also where employees park so you have to park on the adjacent street. read more

This is my favorite place in Houston for a mani-pedi. Kimberly and Tom handled my last one and they were terrific! I made the mistake of going to another place a few weeks ago, one of those places that herds you in and out like cattle. There was nothing relaxing about it. Too crowded for them to pay any attention to me. But Candy's is small and quaint and they take pride in their work! They are small enough they get to know you and take great care of you. I've been going to Candy's since I moved to the Bellaire area a little over a year ago. I love it! The staff is super friendly, super attentive, and takes their time to ensure the quality of their work. It is also very clean and well kept. I like that even when it is busy in here, it still feels like a place you can relax and unwind while enjoying your services. I hate it when nail shops/spas are super duper busy and the whole experience just seems rushed rather than relaxed. I'm always pleased with my service, the staff, and my nails. read more

The place is very conveniently located and inviting. It's clean and relaxing; it doesn't share the unfortunate sweat-shop atmosphere of other nail-salons where workers look overworked and stressed. So why the one star? Because Candice has unfortunately won the prize for worst-ever nail job and worst-ever haircut in my book. I had been there once before just for color and liked it, but the second time I didn't appreciate that the manager? (a female manicurist) literally pushed aside the manicurist that came to greet me, in order to get my business. I always tip well in nail salons, regardless of experience, because I have a sense of the kind of working conditions at these places, so she must have recognized me. I didn't find the manager particularly friendly, though I have to concede she did take her time with my nails. As she worked she kept insisting on me trying "shellac." I knew gel was bad, though she was unable to explain the difference to me while still being somewhat pushy. I was already uncomfortable that she had charged me $5 extra for the supposedly "special" white tip I asked for, when I get it at other salons in the area without ever having to pay extra. After my nails were done, I was very surprised to see that the white tips were not well done at the corners, when she had taken so long (too long), but I had to go. The best came just two days after, because the base of my nails was so thick that the growth had started showing. I'm used to going a whole week with perfect-looking nails, but after only one week my daughter was urging me to go get my nails done because "they looked so bad"... By then the dark had started to show at the bottom of the white tip too, as the nails grew, and two days later my first nail broke, only ten days after having paid more than I ever have for nails! My nails looked absolutely awful when I finally had time to go get them done elsewhere. The same day I had my nails done, I also had a haircut with the guy, who was very nice btw (regardless of lack of skills to cut women's hair). I desperately needed a trim, and I thought I could risk it because my hair is so easy to cut but... Well, I went home and pulled up my hair into the funniest-looking ponytail ever: I could see two long handfuls of hair at each side of the ponytail, like one of those Chinese beards... two side 'tails' a good inch and a half longer than the rest of the ponytail. So off they went with the scissors. The next day I had to go elsewhere to have it trimmed correctly, because now with my hair down you could see an uneven layer closer to my face, and I haven't even mentioned what he did with my bangs... short and square.
