I visited the store to buy some gardening stuff. The person working in the garden section was watering plants, she did speak to me as she kept walking. She almost tripped me twice and I told her I just got out of the hospital and was hoping not to have to go back , she still kept spraying water on me , anyways I had picked some plants and a couple of other things probably a hundred dollars... the clerk at check out seemed nice but needed another check out person. She was doing her best but the wait was too much for me so I just left my cart. Walked in the store to buy materials for a repair. Was accused of stealing from them recently and that they still recognize me even without the cowboy hat. First of all, haven't been in this store for 6 months or more. Don't own a cowboy hat. Was told I could go make my purchase but they would call the police. I offered to wait and talk to the police. The cashier seemed confused. I walked out. Will NEVER purchase here again for my home or my business. Will make sure all my customers are aware. It is worth the drive to other stores not to be accused by a cashier of something I had nothing to do with. read more

So, when you walk up to the store there are several signs saying "must wear a mask in store". They don't enforce this rule because we saw several people NOT wearing masks. But the worst part was, the first person we see when we walk in is an employee with no mask on standing by the customer service desk. We do our shopping and in the time we were in there, we saw 2 employees with their masks hanging from their ear, 2 with the masks under their noses and 1 with it under their chin. We get to the checkout and the cashier has a mask on and when we walk up to the counter, she takes it off. If you don't want to enforce the mask rule, that's entirely up to you, but take the signs down so we know what we are getting into before we go in, and will NEVER shop there again!! read more

I strongly do not recommend supporting this business specifically because of the owner, Dago Candelario. Dago doesn't even deserve one star. He harasses his employee's and has no idea what the California employment/ HIPPA laws are. He has no business owning Ace- let alone trying to run it. He is in it for himself and only himself. He is selfish and invades employers privacy, and brings up inappropriate/ unprofessional conversations that are none of his business. A family member of mine works there and experienced a close loss in the family about a month ago, and needed extra time off to grieve besides the 3 days "accommodated" by Dago. Instead of being understanding at first, he said "we are counting on you to train an employee". Again, goes to show he is only in it for himself. Recently, he threatened to write up this employee for calling in when they had sick time, and then, proceeded to question them as to why they were calling in. (You are not allowed to ask your employees the reasoning of calling in sick). Today, this employee was called into the office to discuss what was going on, she was visibly upset and he closed the door with himself and another male superior inside while talking to a female employee- this is a huge liability. Another female should of been present. This shows Dago's lack of knowledge about running a business and employees safety. Dago, you should really know how to run a safe and healthy business before owning one. Ace may be your whole life, but your employees also have REAL lives outside of your business. *This is just a couple examples of the multiple situations that have occurred with him.* read more

The assistance that I received from Keith in "customer service " and keys/locks saved me money before I had gotten all of the way into the store!! I spent some time window shopping around the store and eventually began looking for the rest of my shopping list. I went in looking for hose connectors to fit portable washing machine to my sink. Someone offered to help me almost immediately. I'm sure I looked a bit overwhelmed. Took a bit but we found a work around to get the pipe threads to fit with the hose threads. Who knew there are so many kinds of threads. I would definitely recommend. read more

I am so disappointed in this Ace Hardward and will be cancelling our account with Candelario Ace Hardware, after 5 generations of support. This decision is 100% due to the owner's ongoing unprofessional behavior!! I am disappointed that I had to give 1 star, as he has earned 0 stars. The family purchased a new lawn mower, that did not work and the owner would not even have a face to face conversation to tell us, professionally, that the company does not back any product they sell other than Ace. Also, anyone going in the store to make a purchase should know that the price on the shelf is not always correct. Twice I have been charged more at the register, so I want to alert you to pay attention at the register!!!! Finally, the owner has told me on two different occasions that he doesn't make enough money to honor sale prices with company's like Trager and Yeti, so unprofessional... At first I thought the prices were too high on the standard stuff I needed around the house, 2x4's, outlets, outlet covers for the rear yard, gutter extensions, wire mesh, belt sander, etc. And then I price matched the items at the Yuba Home Depot (HD) to find that they were not that far off. Most items are just about a quarter more and some were a bit less than HD. So I'm happy to shop here and they always great you upon arrival with a smile and a hello!
