I usually cut my son's hair but we had grown a mullet and I didn't want to mess it up, especially since my son has really dark, stubborn Asian hair - it'd be easy to find the imperfections. The lady who cut his hair was fast (took probably 20 min total). She knew exactly what kind of cut I wanted (2 block hair cut). And because his hair was so long in the back, she double checked before cutting that I wanted to cut it off (much appreciated!). My son's hair was short on the top so she didn't cit length but did blend it (see pics). The place itself was clean and spacious. The cut itself was $45 without a wash, which is a couple dollars cheaper than other places I was looking up. I'd come here again.

Before the haircut, I clearly explained that I had just gotten my hair cut at another salon two…read moredays earlier and that I wasn't looking for a completely new haircut--I only wanted some adjustments to achieve the style shown in the photos of me before. I specifically asked if the stylist understood the issue and knew what needed to be done, and I was assured that they did. Unfortunately, once the haircut started, there was no communication about how much hair would be removed. The very first cut on the sides was much shorter than I expected, and at that point there was no way to undo it. If the stylist had explained their approach or confirmed the length with me first, I would have had the opportunity to say that it wasn't what I wanted. What disappointed me most wasn't just the final result--it was the lack of communication. When a customer brings reference photos and asks questions beforehand, I expect the stylist to explain the plan and make sure we're aligned before making irreversible changes. I left feeling that my concerns and the reference photos were not really taken into account. I hope the salon can improve communication with customers in the future so others don't have the same experience.

I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. At one point my hair was overly damaged from another salon (think bleach, damaged hair and lots of broken strands) and he was honest about how long it would take to trim and grow it back to my waist again. It took several years, but it's back to where it was. All thanks to patience and Pang listening to what I wanted in the end. He's always on-time. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes if he's wrapping up another client, etc. First part of the appt is going over what I want to achieve. Then hair wash. Cut. Blow dry and style. He's straight to the point and there's no chit chatting. I'm usually out of there within an hour or so. There's no bathroom available, so make sure you get your business done before your appt. If you need to go, there's Starbucks across the street. As for parking, there's plenty of metered parking. But if you're not sure how long you'll be there, there's 2 hour free parking across the street from El Camino. The salon itself is hidden and on the 2nd floor.
