I stopped at another place in Southampton and left right away because I could tell it was just beyond what we could afford. All custom everything. On a whim decided to stop at Hamptons Carpet One and it was one of the best decisions I made regarding the ADU! Eugenia greeted us and gave us an honest, up front assessment of our needs and what would work. We never felt pressured. We walked away so much informed and decided to go with engineered flooring instead of the LVT. We let our builder know about our visit. He was just as excited about the product we found. The next thing we know, we're ordering 36 boxes of engineered wood flooring that looks BEAUTIFUL. Excellent quality at an affordable price with great service. These peope know their stuff, and even when I called, and spoke to other staff, it was like talking to family. So helpful. I can't recommend them enough! I'm grateful we have a resource like them on the East End. They serve all sorts of clientele. Again, are very knowledgeable and although we didn't need them to install, they offered a great package if they did. You have to stop in at least once in your journey for the right flooring. I am a woman alone with children. I simply did not want my car damaged. I'm not sure what this guys problem was but I know I'd never want him in my house doing an installation. I was shaken. My husband on speakerphone could hear the man screaming at me. People were staring. This employee clearly has a massive anger issue. I called the business and the woman said "I'm sorry that happened, that's the world now." No, that's your employee and their behavior was completely unacceptable.

I was pleased with Sybelle Carpet's service during the selection process and they did a great job…read moreof installing too, but I don't believe their pricing is transparent or fair. They decided not to install the new padding because the one that was under the existing carpet was quite new. This saved them all of the labor that would've been involved to remove the existing padding and to install the new padding... a significant part of the overall job in my estimation. I was refunded the cost of the new padding (even though I have to take their word for it because there wasn't a line item for the cost on the estimate), but they still charged me the full cost of labor. I called them to discuss this and was told they don't refund on labor. I don't think it's fair to make me pay for work that ended up not being done. I don't feel like I was treated fairly and my complaint wasn't taken seriously.

We were blown away by the breadth of selection for not only carpets and rugs, but all types of flooring, window treatments and textiles. This is one of the rare remaining non-chain places that clearly takes pride in both wide selection and customer service. We were greeted upon arriving by Paula, who was deftly handling a couple of other shoppers, and were thrilled she took the time to devote her attention to us so quickly. We came with room layouts with dimensions and a range for each room's rug type possibilities we'd already felt could work. Paula helped us zoom right in to both new roll and remnant possibilities quickly. We chose and sat down to work through the edge finishing options within minutes. The owner was circulating, answering questions, and we came to know that everyone around us had worked for him for a decade or more. Between the care taken by Paula and her teammates and the ease of the transaction, we confirmed how both the new roll and remnants would be cut and finished, and were connected with an excellent delivery service to bring our finished goods to the city. Not for a minute did we feel rushed or not completely looked after. Not only will the Carpetman see us again for both our East End and City-based needs, we've already urged others to go there who are in the market for rugs, flooring, window treatments and the like.
