If you are lucky enough to have landed on Grout Pros' NYC Google listing, please do yourself an immediate favor: stop stressing, end the analysis paralysis, step out of the panic loop and contact Elizabeth and Daniel ASAP. The universe is positively intervening in a way you cannot even fathom right now. I say this because I was YOU less than 48 hours ago. My nightmare started when I hired a "contractor" through TaskRabbit with 600+ five-star reviews to fix and paint a peeling bathroom window along with some regrout touch-ups. Straightforward, right? Well, on Day 2 at 6pm on a Thursday, less than 72 hours before my guest's early Sunday arrival, he scurried away mid-job and left the window's wood and metal frame in worse condition than when he started. He used a chemical paint remover that compromised the surface, then left when things got complicated. No referral. Just a "sorry" and out the door. Now I had less time, a worse problem, and no clear path forward. Enter NYC Grout Pros. Elizabeth initially told me they were booked until Monday, which I understood, but once she heard my timeline, she led with empathy and assured me she and Daniel would make Friday work. It felt like a miracle! I went to sleep knowing I wasn't alone. Friday, Daniel arrives around 2:30pm, and what struck me immediately was how supported he was by his team. One of his colleagues--on THEIR day off--came by just to deliver tools and materials he'd need. That level of coordination and sacrifice, especially under pressure, is rare. What Daniel walked into was no longer simple. The wood had been compromised, sanding was difficult, and the timeline ruled out conventional approaches. He assessed everything calmly and made a critical call--the current path wouldn't get this done in time. At 5pm on a Friday, without hesitation, he drove nearly two hours through West Village traffic to his shop in Westchester to custom cut wood for my window and source the right materials to actually solve the problem--not just patch it. He then drove back into Manhattan, arriving around 8:30pm, and worked until 11:30pm. And, true to his word--came back by 10am the next morning, on a Saturday--HIS day off--and a day where he had meaningful personal commitments, and still worked until everything was completed to the highest standard. The Result: the window was fully repaired, the grout issues were smoothed out, and the bathroom was spotless/usable. I was able to keep my promises to my guest because of Daniel. But what impressed me most is who Daniel is as a person. He is not only exceptional in his craft--he is an even more exceptional human being. I was under pressure. I had already lost time and money. I was dealing with someone else's poor judgment. And Daniel kept reassuring me: he was on my side, he wouldn't abandon the project, and he would get it done. Although I was a complete stranger--one of millions of people in NYC--he treated me like a longtime friend he was willing to move mountains for. And boy did he. He never made me feel like a burden or like he'd been stuck with a bad job. There was also a generosity of spirit that permeated his work. My partner had ?'s about installing new flushmounts, and Daniel took the time to coach him through an example so we'd feel confident doing it ourselves. One micro-moment spoke volumes. After hours of driving and working late, he still cleaned thoroughly--bathroom spotless, tools neatly placed. As we walked out, he noticed dust from his boots in the hallway and instinctively dropped down to clean it, saying he didn't want to leave the building that way. That level of care--at the very end of a long day--is not something you can fake. I also appreciated how highly he spoke of his team, especially Elizabeth. It's clear they are a close, experienced group that genuinely support one another--and it shows. What they did for me went far beyond fixing a window. Hearing "I got you" felt like 1000 pounds lifted off my shoulders--I've found my dream creative partners and I know I can trust them with any project moving forward! And so should you! read more

They always do a great job for us. Have used them multiple times and never had a problem.

Grout Pros NYC just completed regrouting the lining around my bathtub, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Daniel did an amazing job restoring the grout, and the difference is incredible. He and dispatcher Elizabeth were both professional, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Grout Pros NYC, for the outstanding service. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality grout restoration! read more

Grout Pros NYC exceeded my expectations. Results were excellent. GREAT job, everyone was very professional. Happy I chose them!

If you are considering them, USE THEM! Do not even consider anyone else. I needed my bathroom regrouted. I got half a dozen quotes. Several were handymen they could do the job for in 2 - 4 hours for a crazy low price. Then there was the other end; contractors quoted 30% higher. I went with Grout Pros because of their excellent reviews on Yelp, and well, they BEYOND delivered. The quality of work and their customer service is rare in the contracting / home improvement world. First, coordinating with Elizabeth was easy in terms of the process when it came to quotes/contracts. Their communication was responsive and clear. The morning of the job, Gio came to my apartment ON-TIME. I don't think I've ever experienced that before with any contractor. Gio is personable and friendly. About an hour or two into the work, Gio quickly realized that there was damage behind the tiles from water damage and smartly advised I to get a plumber before continuing the work to confirm there was no active leak, which I did. But unfortunately, that meant I had to reschedule the rest of the job. Elizabeth and her team made it happen 3 days later, as I had a hard deadline since I was moving. Gio came back (AGAIN ON TIME) and finished the job. Beyond the regrouting, he rebuilt the areas of the backboard that had been damaged. And Gio spent more than a full day working on the bathroom. No handyman would have been able to do the job in 2 - 4 hours. And the results (see photos) speak for themselves. The grouting is picture-perfect. He was so easy to communicate with and work with. Not only would I recommend them, but when I do a more extensive bathroom remodel, I will highly consider Grout Pros. read more

Carlos was very nice and did a great jo on our shower refresh! the communication between the office was prompt, professional and clear. when it came to the estimate there were no surprises. I'm 100% satisfied with the Grout Pros. read more

I'm prefacing this with I don't oftentimes write reviews. The wife and I purchased a new development property and it turns out the builders cut major corners in our apartment. That being said all of our tiles were falling off of our walls. We decided to replace all the tiles of three of the walls in the bathroom. Daniel and crew were upmost professional and paid extreme attention on every single detail of our bathroom. They demo'd, hauled away, replaced all the backerboard, installed a niche, installed all new tiles in our bathroom, painted our ceiling and even aligned the tiles on opposite sides of the bathroom. I'm confident that this bathroom is here to last. Best of all they fixed up a few things the original builders messed up on. They fixed the framing, added extra backerboard where needed, tightened loose pipes etc. I couldn't ask for a better experience for the first major renovation I've ever had. The quality was excellent and the price was good for the work done. Honestly the name grout pros doesn't do then justice. They're so much more than grouters. read more

Grout Pros NYC - Finished tiling work. - Painters Near Me

Seemed very personable at first, but the estimate for a bathroom remodel did not include a licensed plumber, which is standard for shower renovation, causing the price to be escalated. Was then told job could not be performed on time as planned, due to a personnel issue. All in all, I was very disappointed with the way I was treated by this company. read more

I hired Grout Pros NYC to repair/replace a tiled shower pan installed by a different contractor when I did a full bathroom renovation. The water pooled in different areas of the pan so you were standing in water and had to squeegee it down the drain after showering. The process with this company was very efficient. I heard back from Elizabeth very quickly after reaching out. I sent some pictures and measurements and received an estimate of fair price and timeline the next day and they were able to schedule the work within my window of availability. The work was estimated to take 5 days but was completed in 4 days. Daniel and Carlos arrived on Tuesday morning and completed Friday afternoon and these guys never stopped working while they were here. Daniel is fantastic. He walked me through what they were going to do and exactly how they were going to do it and what materials would be used. Daniel and Carlos were courteous and professional. They did a great job putting protection down and covering areas end there was very little dust. They left my place spotless every day. The work came out great. Thrilled with the result (the water actually goes down the drain now) and can't recommend this company enough. A night and day experience compared to what I went through with my previous contractor. Thank you, Grout Pros NYC!!! read more

I had a great experience with Grout Pros. I hired them to do grout work in two bathrooms and some floor board work. They were fast to respond, available on short notice, and their work is amazing. The cost was fair, and they really went above and beyond what I could have expected with all three tasks I hired them to do. They worked quickly, and everything looks brand new! I was so pleased that before they left, I asked them to come look at another project I need help with so that they can do that one, too. A great company to work with, I very highly recommend them. read more

This review (and any I ever write) is written based on the belief that the only time a 5 star review should be given is if the job was absolutely flawless. Call me crazy. Pros: the team was very friendly, communication was good, they showed up on time, I could tell they were making their best effort (they were on the job for 12+ hours!). Cons: attention to detail and consistency, clean up and protection could be greatly improved. I had my less than 1 yr old shower fully regrouted after a nightmarish experience with my GC where the grout never cured so going into this I was already very stressed out about the whole thing. The grout cured after being done by Grout Pros, so that's good, but: a *lot* of tiles were chipped along the edges in the process, like a lot lot, which was definitely a bummer. They are tiny chips but there's a lot of them and it's not ideal, especially since the grout being removed was very soft and shouldn't have been that difficult to remove. Some of the chips could have been covered up if more grout was put into the joints but the grout wasn't filled in up to the surface of the tile (which is just what I prefer, a more full joint, so might not be an issue for others). There is also some inconsistency in the texture of the grout (not smooth in some places), and some minor pinholes in some areas, a couple areas of discoloration, and a couple places where the grout is too low. Also, there was no protection put down, which I think is surprising. At the very least, there should be a blanket put down in the tub and the floor should be covered (they did a quick cleanup at the end but we still had to spend 2+ hours doing major scrubbing and cleaning as there was grout residue literally everywhere). I had to remove some scratches from my wall, tub, and floor, and there is some grout on the ceiling. There is grout in my shower door hardware, which should have been taped off. Putting down some protection and taping off hardware etc is a small thing that would make a big difference. They were really nice, I wish the job was perfect, but it wasn't -- it also could have been a lot worse (I'd hate to see what kind of job any other company with worse reviews would have done). Thus the 3 stars which I think is fair. read more

Grout Pros rebuilt my shower after black mold was discovered behind the tiles. They did a phenomenal job. In the midst of dealing with a "new" construction condo plumbing nightmare, I was definitely lucky to find this company. Elizabeth coordinated the estimates and was very accommodating in setting up scheduling. Daniel and his team were excellent- kept in touch for almost a year while I was trying to find a reliable plumber [went through 3 who unfortunately could not complete the job!]. Once I did find a plumber, he was excellent in coordinating with them to ensure the job would be done right and in a timely manner. Can't say enough of how professional and mindful Daniel is, he really put ease into the whole process and delivered nothing short of excellent work. If you're considering any tile work, don't hesitate to work with these guys, they are definitely worth every cent! read more

I had this company redo the grouting and caulk in my two showers and even the floor in the bathroom. First, I will say that the guys that came over were really nice and attentive, especially Daniel. One other guy had a bad shoulder and the third barely spoke English and was apparently learning the work. But Daniel sounded really knowledgeable and patiently explained everything that needed to be done and future maintenance. Part of the floor in one bathroom had tiles starting to crack, and this was after almost 20 years when it was originally done. They ended up completely redoing that section of the floor with new subsurface and tiles. A month later, the grout already came out and they had to come back and redo it. The floor section is not even as level as before, as part of the tiles stick up at an angle. The ceiling of another shower had all the grout redone. The problem was that the guy doing it had a bad shoulder and the grout ended up with different color shading, apparently because his shoulder issue didn't allow him to do it correctly. I didn't watch, so maybe he even skipped some sections, I don't know. Some parts of the shower also had the grouting in uneven shades. It's not very obvious, but considering the original grout job from 20 years ago stayed nearly perfect until a few years ago, this was not a good sign. In the end, the work was ok, which is not what I paid for considering they charge a premium price, which we were willing to pay to get an excellent result. In my opinion, an experienced handyman could have given us the same result. Grout Pros should have given us something better and something we were happy with, not just content. read more

Daniel and Lenny were 5 stars from beginning to end. Since I purchased my condo 10 years ago I've had some issues with cracking grout and caulk -- and had multiple handymen come by to fix, but they never did a quality or lasting job. Everyone was a dream to work with, from Lucille's quick and informative responses on the business side to Daniel coming by to review my space to give a proper assessment and estimate to Daniel and Lenny doing a fantastic job on work day. They could not have been nicer, wore masks the entire time, cleaned up their space during and after work, and most importantly, my bathroom has never looked nicer. The grout is gorgeous and the fresh caulk makes my bathtub feel brand new. The major cracking grout issue between my floor tile and door frame finally looks fresh after years of damage. Daniel even tightened the screws in my bathroom door before leaving. Truly above and beyond. Can't thank you enough for the beautiful work! I appreciate all of your guidance! If you are looking for grout professionals, look no further. read more

I highly recommend Grout Pros! The previous tenant didn't take care of the place at all and it really showed. But with a limited renovation budget, I couldn't plan much for my bathroom given everything else that needed to change. My bathroom is 100% prewar with subway wall tiles and octagon diamond floor tiles - all with white grout that couldn't be scrubbed clean no matter what I threw at it. After two days of Daniel and Gio regrouting the walls and floor, it looks like a brand new bathroom. The difference really is night and day! They were so nice and friendly, and kept me looped in on all their decisions. Elizabeth was endlessly patient with me with all my questions and requests right up to the very end. I've been peeling the seals from the side of my bathtub. I needed to re-caulk my bathtub. They responded quickly, explain the typically process and was able to get Daniel in. Daniel arrived on time, and completed the work. He was attentive and noticed some water in the glass frame door and used a dryer to get the water out. I asked a few questions on how I can stop getting mold and black spots around the side and edge of the tub. He recommended sponge instead of a brush. Brush creates pocket holes for water to seep in. He also mentioned a color sealant for the tile wall but wasn't trying to upsell. The work was pretty straight forward, he completed it in 1.5 hours. They accepted personal check or cash. Provided an electronic receipt once the job was completed. Happy with the job and would definitely recommend. read more

Daniel and Lenin were fantastic! Very professional, and respectful of house rules as well as our building's COVID protocols. We just purchased and moved into our first home, in a co-op building, and had found an issue with the tile in the master bathroom in the final walkthrough (upon examination, a loose tile came off completely and the wall behind looked like it had mold, which my husband is allergic to). Daniel came to do the estimate (mask on, shoes off) and noted that it didn't look like the tile had been properly installed when the previous owner redid the bathroom - there wasn't full coverage on the tile that came off, no vapor barrier behind the tile to protect from moisture, no caulk at the seams, etc. Given the pandemic, it wasn't realistic for us to undertake a full remodel but he was able to recommend a fix that would at least waterproof the shower for now, and ballparked that cost on the spot. Grout Pros followed up promptly with an estimate and COI. Daniel and Lenin regrouted and caulked the master bath, caulked the shower in the second bath, and caulked around the kitchen counter - they were careful and took their time, worked around my toddler's naptime, and still got it all done in one day. When they got behind the loose tiles and found just sheetrock (should be greenboard and/or vapor barrier, apparently), they made sure to let me know for future reference, and even noted that the little nook in the wall didn't seem to be sloped properly so we could make sure to dry it off regularly to avoid more damage. Our bathroom looks like new and we feel prepared to maintain it ahead of a proper fix in the future. We've already passed along their info to two of our neighbors who want to get some work done, and would recommend them to anyone who wants high-quality work from trustworthy techs. read more

This was our second time using grout pros. They are very professional and great communicators. We contacted grout pros on Yelp and they quickly responded and let us know they are available to do the job. We had an unfortunate incident in our Airbnb where one of our slide glass shower doors shattered. Daniel promptly went to take measurements and let us know a few routes we could go to fix. After getting quotes for us we were able to get a custom piece of glass made and installed in little over a week. Payment was easy as well using zelle. I highly recommend this company and we will continue to use them and trust them with our projects. Overall being on the west coast and getting a job done on the east coast can be stressful and grout pros made the whole process smooth. Grout pros will also be top on my list to recommend as well read more

Daniel and his team were absolutely amazing to work with, and they did the most beautiful and detailed job on our kitchen renovation. I had a somewhat unusual job for the Grout Pros- I wanted the tile in my 1937 bathroom restored to its original appearance. This meant replacing patched tiles on the wall and the floor with salvaged tile I'd collected from other units in my building. What made things even more difficult was that the first tile contractor I'd hired proved not only unable to do the work, but caused a good amount of damage to the walls with his fumbling. Elizabeth was very responsive to my messages and Daniel and his team came over within a couple of days to survey the damage. They did a truly excellent job in restoring the tile, and worked with very limited materials since the previous contractor had damaged many of the original tiles I'd collected. I couldn't be happier with the work and the team was at all times courteous and neat. I know this wasn't an easy job but I really felt like they gave it their all and wanted me to be very happy with the finished product. read more

If I could give Grout Pros 10 stars, I would. I agree with previous reviewers - don't even consider anyone else! My daughter bought her first apartment, and her shower had old, painted-over tiles and dirty, cracked grout. I found Grout Pros on Yelp, saw all their stellar 5-star reviews, and immediately reached out for a quote. Elizabeth responded right away, I sent her photos, and after a few back-and-forth emails where she answered all my questions, booked them to do the job. I had gotten a few other quotes, but her great communication skills, plus all those 5-star reviews, clinched the deal for me. Gio did the work and was excellent. The work took 2 days. He was always right on time, worked really hard, left everything immaculate afterwards, and was just an all-around nice guy; friendly, polite and efficient. Best part: the shower looks like new! I had such a great experience with Grout Pros, starting from my initial email with Elizabeth about the project to Daniel and Giovanni leaving me with a shiny new bathroom! Elizabeth quickly arranged for Daniel to come on site for an estimate, he reviewed the project and then explained what needed to be done so that I had a complete understanding of the scope of work, after talking with him I got a solid feeling that he was the man for the job. The job involved replacing loose tiles, re-grouting/caulking the tub, replacing two sections of water damaged walls, did some tiling on one side and painted the other and then installed a safety rail in the tub, it was all done in a day! My shower was poorly grouted when it was first installed a few years ago - it was leaking into the downstairs at a steady stream. Lucille and Elizabeth were very responsive to all of my emails and we were able to get the team in the day after I returned to regrout my shower. Daniel and his junior were great at removing all of the old grout and did a great job resealing the tiles and used extra caulk to ensure that all the gaps were sealed. They were also just nice people that were good at explaining what was happening and what they needed to do. Would recommend them to anyone looking for grouting services. read more
