But, we found out our old laminate flooring was buckling due to a slow dishwasher leak, had to be repaired badly. The floor led to other problems and those problems led to a gut job. Let's talk about tiles. Sam's is small but has a lot of merchandise to choose from. Carmine (owner?) was all ears when we selected brand new Subway tiles for our new job plus he gave us some aesthetic advice (thank you Carmine, but we have a style already). One of the things hubs and I appreciated the most was that even when we questioned him about whether or not we should get an extra box of floor tiles to add to our existing 7 boxes we'd purchased back in April '21, for that "just in case" moment, Carmine wasn't hard-selling us into buying another case of tiles. Nothing but nice things to write about. And may I mention, Carmine was awesome.

I have nothing but love for Bill and Carmine at Sams Ceramic in White Plains. I walked into the…read moreshowroom completely out of the blue one afternoon for advice on a poorly installed kitchen floor. I wasn't even planning to purchase tiles. Bill listened to my concerns and immediately began to educate me on how to determine if the floor was installed the right way and how I would be able to correct what had been done. Bill was genuinely interested in making sure I had the right information about tiles, the installation process and different techniques to get the best results. In the end, I had to remove everything down to the subfloor but I am so happy that I did because I will now avoid years of continuously having to repair a bad floor. Bill worked with me to pick the best floor tile for the design and price I wanted. He also met with my new contractor to make sure the floor would be installed correctly. It was such a good experience as a customer that I went back to get my counter and backsplash tiles. Bill was able to get all the products to me lightening fast and the quality was even better than I expected. Bill's expertise, compassion and great sense of humor helped me get through what started out as a nightmare. I now have a kitchen that I absolutely love! He and Carmine earned both my trust and my loyalty. I cant imagine working with anyone else in the future.

The prices are also good at Express Tile, and they will try to work with you on quantities so you don't have a lot of extra or unneeded product left over. Note that parking can be a bit of a hassle, as the lot is small and exiting can be painful because of the store's proximity to a crazy intersection. Be very careful if you choose to purchase tiles here, especially in cash. The store is beautiful…read moreand the salesmen are friendly but they are very disorganized and dishonest. We purchased floor tiles and backsplash tiles. When the time came to pick up the floor tiles at the warehouse we were given the wrong tiles. We noticed once we got home and opened the boxes. When we called, they said the warehouse was closing in 30 mins, that we had to wait until Monday and we were alright with that. We just asked that they confirm the correct ones were in stock and they reassured us. Come Monday when we got to the warehouse and took the sample we had with us, they said it was an old tile and that they no longer had it. They gave us a sample of a different tile to take home. We chose to go with that tile and when we went to the warehouse the third time - we were once again given the wrong one. The same wrong ones we were given the first time. They didn't have the tiles of the 2nd sample they had given us either. In the end we decided to just stay with that one. We then decided to return the backsplash tiles and were told there was a 25% restocking fee - when prior to purchasing everything we were always told we could return anything we didn't use without any mention of a fee. When we came to the store and tried to explain all the difficulties we experienced the manager/owner, Anthony, came out, cut us off, and said the fee was non-negotiable, take it or leave it. In the end the salesman who worked with us from the start, Manny, took care of us. But it was overall a very unpleasant experience. Just think twice maybe thrice before purchasing anything here. It seems like they make up prices for items that they don't even have labeled nor are they aware of what is or isn't in stock in their warehouse. The service is very poor and Anthony is uncompromising and very disrespectful. I honestly felt as women they treated us differently, but I haven't personally seen how they treat men.

"XYZ" Company, promised the stars and the moon back then- but a week+ job turned into almost a month. And when my husband expressed discontent, he'd assured us around that time, he would fix his mistakes- yada yada yada. He wanted full payment and considering his lack of bathroom remodeling skills, hubby cut him loose way before he finished. Thought about taking legal action, but it actually cost more than the bathroom itself. And considering what we went through, a DIY wasn't in the plans- either. So here we are dishing $$$$$$$$$.] ********************************************** All this to say what? We turned a new page and are presently working with an excellent, all-inclusive bathroom contractor who takes care of everything that has to do with renovating our bathroom. Our new contractor had to rip and gut out all of the original contractor's work. Mind you, he and his men are indeed professionals, they pinpointed all the disaster done by that a**hole. Our new contractor provided my husband with a written contract, detailing step by step work to be done and prices to match for our bath. Not to mention, our contractor works closely with Quality Tile. Hubby and I, have been eyeing an on-trend bathroom design from the get-go. So when I came to Quality Tile, it was a matter of selecting shower tiles and floor preferences also. And by the way- quality and prices are great. Both my visits with one of their employees- Peter, was fantastic. He took his time and most of all- was patient as I tried to wrap my head around tile size and style. While on the subject, if you want the best results, stop by. I like doing my sh*t face to face and avoid phone calls as much as possible. But I do understand it may not be easy for folks to come here, but you'll obviously get a better glimpse of tiles up close when you're ready to purchase! So why am I posting all this info here? Because that a**hole doesn't have a Yelp page- nor will I create one for him and primarily alert other homeowners to keep all eyes if you're sensing something's way off with your contractor. Maybe I'm being a bit too eager without our bathroom being finished yet- but our new guys are keeping us in the loop every single step of the way. Hubby and I are really into these guys and their professionalism! And they're bringing it twice-fold!! Listen- for the sake of my safety and my home- I thought about mentioning "XYZ's" name and company's name here and just bring him down. But you know what...I won't. Because karma is gonna get his ass real good! These guys at Quality Tile, have a nice selection of Shower and Bathroom floor Tiles- including backsplashes. In the meantime... got any tile work to be done? Quality Tile is it!

Not only did they have a huge variety of options they were very good at keeping within price ranges and showing alternatives to more expensive options. They also helped us look at things we normally would have glossed right over (our kitchen back-splash in particular). We ended up with exactly what we were after despite having no idea what we really wanted going in. The service HUGELY outweighed any Hope Depot/Lowes and the prices were around the same if not cheaper. Not to mention Hope Depot said it would be 2-3 weeks for anything that had to be ordered (which would have been everything as they don't keep much in stock these days) and Village Tile is getting everything to me in less than 2 days... I strongly recommend going here over the big box stores. You will get far better service and support your local business owners!!

Hubs and I knew we wanted an on-trend white quartz look with minimal grey veins to tie the look with Midnight Blue Kraftmaid cabinets we got. We also wanted to kill two birds with the same stone and noticed these folks carry oval and rectangular deep sinks and got the last for our new kitchen. Installation from their part, worked fine. The workers did a horrible job applying the caulk. They had to return twice to complete the job. The first time the worker who did measurements was annoyed. The second time, I was told to just buy some caulk and a sponge and apply it. I laughed and said why would I do that...? If that's what I paid for, I said you did not even apply in some spots. They missed areas and when I showed one of the workers they were frustrated. He did not believe me, we went over to the area and with a flash light I had to show him. One of my outlets was bent. I was a little understanding with that but that was carless. In another area the back splash was not cut in line with the outlet box. I showed another area under the cabinets and before I could even show the worker he said we don't do that... Then I said really... I showed him where they did under most of them and for some reason left two areas without caulk. Then another crew member was on the phone with someone arguing. Very unprofessional. On the way out one of the crew members dumped the water from their bucket over my hedges and into my front yard. Also, very unprofessional. I also had to go to the office and have a finishing piece cut. At that time I was asked how did the guys do... I said it was still incomplete. I had an exact piece they needed to duplicate. I picked up the piece and it was off. Over all the office staff was fine but unfortunately the crew was not. I am sure they do good work but they did not for me.
