I sent pics of what I wanted; the guys came in & made 2 swatches on my floor. It was easy to pick the swatch, and my new floors look amazing. My kitchen is a different wood -- red oak -- and the guys treated it differently to make the 2 look more similar in the end. Thiago, the owner, is super kind & available to respond to questions. Office staff is polite, punctual and very helpful. Overall, I recommend them enthusiastically.

Other than Tom, who came out for the quote, and the installation crew (on time and cleaned up after themselves), the management, professionalism and communication from this company was extremely disappointing. 10 months after the installation, the floor separated in the same place as previous (the entire reason they had to pull up the flooring "correct the issue" and reinstall). Our project manager and co owner, Paul, was horrible. Too much to type regarding him and our issues. He never returned calls, texts or emails regarding this or other issues. We had a little back and forth initially from Josh, the owner, but then radio silence. No one has come back to our home to see the issue and no talks of fixing it have taken place.

He gave me what I considered to be a fair price per square foot (based on my research of average pricing for wood floor refinishing) over the phone and was able to meet me that same day to get exact measurements. He was very accommodating to my schedule understanding that I wasn't currently living in the apartment and needed some extra travel time. The meeting was efficient and painless. He asked all the right questions and did not waste my time. He took down my email address and told me that he would email me the estimate. I needed this job to be done asap and he assured me that he could start the work on Monday and be done in 2 days. Sure enough later that evening he sent me the estimate via email. The ONLY reason why I went with another service provider is because I happened to get a referral from a very close friend the next day otherwise I would of DEFINITELY gone with NY Floorman. June 2013 Richard,…read moreMiguel, Mauricio and their crew were great. I contacted 5 companies, narrowed it to 3 to interview on site, and New York Floorman LLC was the clear choice. Richard was the only person to send me estimated costs in advance, provide me with images to consider finishes before hand. He was on time to the initial site meeting to take measurements and provide a detailed estimate. He was approachable, replied to emails quickly and gave me a sense of confidence that won him the job. I eliminated one company for missing the initial meeting (he called to say he'd be 2 hours late - this is unacceptable to me). I had them remove a partial wall, patch what was left over, and sand and refinish the floors. The guys on the site were great, punctual and reliable. They provided on site samples of the finishes for me to make a selection. (I would ask for this in advance if you want to see multiple colors/tones). The job took 4 days from start to finish, and was completed on time, as promised. Richard's price was competitive and the work was well done. They were respectful and listened to my concerns, described the work in detail and let me know what they would work on each day. I feel confident in recommending them to anyone. I will consult them again when I am ready to do more work. They are great.
