I go to the store in Abbotsford,B.C. uite often. I search products on the web site and like the fact it tells not oly if it is in stock and if it is tells me the isle it is on. Great web site. Yesterday I went to buy a replacement gas cap for my car, the automotive rep looked it up and gave me the stock item and the isle it was on. I couldn't find it among many different types, so I went back to the automotive counter ad told the same sales rep I couldn't find the item. He toke me back to the isle and area with the caps and found the correct item. THAT IS GREAT SERVICE. Special thank you to that man. read more

I arrived to pick up online order for a snow sled for our Grandchild. I was rudely told we already picked it up. I stated we did not and was told again to ask my wife or daughter if they picked it up in which I stated no one in my family picked it up period. I requested to speak to manager and the staff said I am the manager. I ask to speak to another manager and the very young 2nd manager was more obnoxious stating they checked cameras and a women requested curb side pick up in a Grey honda civic. I ask why wasn't I.D requested and why wasn't order updated as picked up and sent to me in which now both young managers with attitudes said the staff did not update the purchase. I stated why not and by now they called security in which he showed up ready to be the hero not knowing anything but more so is part of the team. I was told for the 5th time basically I was lying. I stated the only way this could of happened is there's a staff as a thief. Then all 3 were saying how dare I call them a thief ironically it is ok to tell a customer though he is one. I requested to see the security video and was told not without a court order. I requested to know the staff who handed over the item without following protocols and was told same thing. By then they discussed me beyond belief. I've shopped at this location for 10 years weekly spending roughly $2000-3000 annually. I will never enter this location again nor will my large family. We got ripped off and too young of management could not figure out with common sense how to treat a customer . It's not about the sled worth $35 it's about being called out wrongly with other customers witnessing the episode and the true crime was staff protecting another staff . Not sure why this place has negative comments. Every time I've been here everyone has always been super helpful and friendly. I had an appointment Saturday at 9:30am to get my winters installed, that I ordered brand new online the day before. The service department was very helpful, friendly, and informative. And the next day when I arrived to have my tires re-torqued, the employees were all different from the day prior, and they were friendly also! While my car was being worked on, I went into the store to shop and again; every employee I interacted with was helpful and friendly. Check out was quick. This gotta be the most primitive and consumer unfriendly location in Canada. Was trying to buy Driveway sealer and then was told by staff they "wouldn't shake it" as paint shaker too old. Can you believe this? Even they were stoic about it blaming the owner. Huge store and they won't update the shaker? Why not close down the whole paint department and save people the trip? Canadian Tire is by far the worst place to do business. They do not guarantee anything. I have reported before that I had purchased a set of what was supposed to be their premium tires. About a year later one of the tires had failed and I went to Canadian Tire and was advised the problem was a defect in the tire structure but they would not give my any guarantee and even charged for the replacement tire despite the fact that I had barely had 10,000 kms. on the tire. The sole interest in Canadian Tire -- might I say CRAPPY TIRE -- is profit and definitely NOT customer service. read more

Said they had 27 items in stock so went there instead of home depot as want to shop canadian. Nothing on shelf and manager said looks like an error. Found something identical but different packaging so more money but refused a $4 price adjustment to make it the same price as she said they paid more for it so they could not reduce the price and too bad I drove over there. I had a choice pay $4 more or pay $4 in gas to go to home depot. Guess I will do home depot in the future as they seem to have what I need. Too bad as I am sure the app and live inventory was expensive to prepare but with not instore support it is useless read more

Quite honestly, I don't think I could have been much happier with the service we received when we brought our car in to get looked at before returning home across the mountains. They were very good about showing us precisely what was going on and what needed to be done for our safety in driving home. I'm glad that they caught the issue. I liked the attitude and straightforward conversation style of the staff members in the automobile service area of the store. The store itself was full of the regular selection of stock for this time of year, and the public restrooms were appropriately clean. read more

Oh Canadian Tire (sung to the first 4 bars of "Oh Canada" ) My definition of a true tragedy is the deplorable service that has been given by Canadian Tire for the past 4 decades, thus keeps me wondering how this "excuse for a retailer" has managed to stay in business. OK. OK, I know...the selection of "stuff" is great! Especially their automotive consumables, but is this the only reason to shop at a retail chain? I avoid CT as much as possible because their customer service lies somewhere at the bottom of the food chain. When was the last time you stood in a 15+ person line up and the manager called to a couple of "associates" to manages the registers?? Nadda! Two is there limit...especially at their Abbotsford location. They even went as far as removing their self check out (probably because the shop lifting rate went up...CT doesn't trust ANYONE...hence the Fort Knox like security gates they have when entering and leaving the store). As a resident of Abbotsford for over twenty years, it's safe to say that Canadian Tire Abbotsford has been sucking in the service department for two plus decades for sure! Ok, this review is mainly based on the customer service so that's why it's only 1 star. The store itself gets 5 stars just for having everything for my needs from home to auto. I had to get some spark plugs for my car so I headed to the nearest Canadian Tire out near Aldergrove (I always choose the Abby location) The spark plug size was 13/16 and I required a socket to extract it from my car. Like ll Canadian Tire locations all of the sockets, socket sets, and wrenches are behind a locked glass case so no one can pinch these items. Rang the customer service button to get someone to help me and I got one girl who had no clue what I was talking about. Jay: "do you have any spark plug sockets?" Girl: "I think there are some in the case" *uninterested look* Jay: "I need a socket that's 13/16 or 21 mm do you have any of these sizes?" Girl: radios someone else to help me but other dude was busy *girl looks annoyed* Was on my knees looking at the bottom of the display case and didn't find anything at all and the worst thing was that the girl working there didn't help me at all and made me look for the socket in two separate display cases. read more

Here is another typical example of customer avoidance and berating people. The store manager and the auto service department have avoided 3 times in getting back to me on an overcharge in a hitch installation. I watched as a mechanic drove my vehicle into their service bay at 4:00pm and installed a hitch on my car that took less than 1 hour from the time it went onto the hoist to the time he drove it out onto the parking stall. They did not bring the invoice into the cashier until almost 5:30 pm and then justified my bill by charging me an 1.5 hours of work when in fact it was less than 1 hour. After trying numerous attempts to resolve this I finally came to the store today and it wasn't until that I told them I needed an answer or I wasn't going to budge, that they were able to get ahold of the store manager . The girl that took my information down told me that I needed the original receipt before I could get my refund and so I said to her that if I get me receipt there will not be any more run around in this matter and she assured me there would not be. After returning to the store with the ORIGINAL receipt, I told her after all this time that I have been trying to resolve this matter not one of the employees had offered an apology on behalf of the store. I explained that I didn't mind paying for services rendered, but I don't like when people overcharge and cannot justify it. This has been a great inconvenience to me and I was upset. She then told me that I was raising my voice and I was told to stop it. I told her if she wanted to hear me raise my voice that I could certainly oblige her. She then cancelled the transaction, which she promised to me just a short while before she would not do and asked me to leave the store. Again proving that they would rather be confrontational and not apologetic. I am truly dismayed at why there is such a problem in Canadian Tire saying "I'm Sorry"'and just making things right. No need to drag it out but yet again more run around. We will see how this plays out in days to come as I wish to speak to the store manager about this and Corporate Office as well. read more

I was recently in the Abbotsford store on a few different occasion and was lucky enough to get help from the same helpful employee. Her name is Sam she has excellent knowledge of the products that I came into purchase. She even went out of her way to help me in a department that clearly was not hers. She is always smiling and makes me laugh when I come in to do my shopping. Way to go Sam because of you I will be back. read more

I went in last week for an item advertised in their flyer. They couldn't find any for sale! It was the first day of the sale and no one seemed to know where the item was or even what I was talking about. I went in again, today, for another advertised item and they had none of these items either. This is just flagrant false advertising and no one seems to think it's a big deal. I had the most frustrating experience today trying to pick up my order that was paid for online and to be picked up curb side. I received and email that my small order was ready and we left for the store. When we arrived I could not find where to go so I called the number in my email. I asked the woman who answered the online number and she didn't tell me where to go and then proceeded to ask me questions about my order. Then put me on hold and then hung up. I drove around the parking lot and eventually found the parking spaces for curb side pick up. Because I had been cut off I then tried to call back. No one picked up. It was a total of 30 minutes with several calls lasting around five minutes, none reaching a person or any answers about what was happening. I am high risk for COVID and so is my husband and going in is not an option so I was at a loss as to what to do since they were not answering their phones and my order was already paid for. All I could think of to do was to try and get someone's attention by driving to the door where you could see the cashiers and leaning on the horn, which I did. We were not prepared for the verbal assault by the sports manager who yelled at my husband" you got an issue?". I am sure that was not a sincere question but an insult. He yelled that they were busy in the store with customers and they couldn't answer the phones. He was rude and should not have a job. All we needed to know was what was happening but we had no way of talking to anyone. Finally a sweet young lady came out and told us that they had lost our order. Fine. We just needed to know and they had to fill the order. There were only five items with four on the same shelf. We went back and waited while they refilled our order. They had my phone number and my email and they failed to communicate with us. It is good that they have lots of customer and they won't miss our business because we will never shop at a store that has such a disrespectful supposed manager. He should lose his job. read more

We purchased a welder (Mastercraft) and after using it twice the feeder cut out and the unit was blowing a breaker (we had successfully used another unit for eight years). When I brought it back, I was told that there was a repair warranty only and that they would not replace the unit or give out a loaner. Due to this complete lack of service, our company has boycotted Canadian Tire and, if necessary, will gladly pay more for better quality and service read more

Do not take your vehicle here for anything. I had just had my truck in for icbc work at Arvid's and had to get an inspection. Had the vehicle sent to Canadian Tire. They are saying all the work done at Arvid's was faulty and needed to be redone by them! Now Arvid's is rated in the top of all auto care shops in Abbotsford Canadian tire doesn't even rate! The store seems unorganized it's hard to find what your looking for, I was online and online gave me the info such as isle number and sale price but after checking that isle 5 times it was not there. So I checked other isles and found it in the wrong area on the top shelf so I had to get help to get it and asked and someone came right away, unfortunately they had not had the right sale price on it so I had to go to customer service and tell them where I was refunded the difference, the staff are very nice and polite no issues with them just the organization of this store and when something's on sale it should be in the system. I don't like the line ups either only 2 tills open whenever I go in and long waits. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. The service in every department is painfully slow. I've found that rather than going out of their way to help a customer looking for something, they just shrug you off and say it's not their department. Which is fine, as long as their willing to find me someone who's in that department, or even point in the direction of someone willing to help me. But no. I've been brushed off every time. I've been there twice in the last 3 months for household items and both times I've brought them home to find that they're missing components. I don't know what kind of business they're running but if you want to save yourself a headache, don't go to Craptire in Abbotsford. Mission and Chilliwack are by far superior. read more
