Just wanted to write a quick follow-up to the review I posted about Agape Bridal a few months ago. Here goes:
I first visited Agape Bridal when I was shopping for my wedding dress and wanted to share the wonderful experiences I've had each time I've been there.
Firstly, as I mentioned before, the store is beautiful, new and spacious with large, private and well-lit dressing rooms. They have a great set-up for modelling the dresses with a large "stage" in front of a wall of mirrors and comfortable couches for your "entourage". The staff are all very warm, welcoming, and friendly. They asked lots of questions and never made us feel rushed. They have a large selection of gowns (both bridal and prom) at a variety of prices.
To make a long story short, I didn't end up purchasing a dress at Agape, but I wish I had. The gown I bought was an off-the-rack sample that fit pretty well. The store I purchased it at (let's call it Store X) told me that it would only need minor alterations (the bust was a bit too big, so it flopped forward).
Store X did not have an in-store seamstress, so I took it to another well-known local store (Store Y) for an alteration estimate. Several of my friends had purchased their dress at Store Y and highly recommended their seamstress, so that's why I decided to go there.
What a horrible experience! I left my fitting at Store Y in tears: they basically told me that the dress was too small and could not be salvaged. The seamstress was very blunt and gruff, and did not seem very interested in trying to find a solution or way to make the dress work. I couldn't believe it!
We decided to make an appointment with Agape Bridal's seamstress to get a second opinion. I was very nervous and feeling dismayed about the whole situation. Within a few minutes of meeting with Agape's seamstress, my mind was put at ease again. She quickly and confidently offered some simple solutions to make the dress work. They reassured me that the dress was gorgeous and that they could make it fit beautifully. Their total estimate for alterations: less than $100.
I can't believe that Store Y was so far off. I got the feeling that because I hadn't purchased the dress there, they were being negative and trying to get me to buy a new one.
In any case, lesson learned: I should have shopped at Agape all along! It would have saved me a lot of stress and tears. They are nothing but kind, attentive and helpful. Pay them a visit and you won't be disappointed! read more
