My first Canadian Costco! Really like this one, except for the crowds, it was packed, much more so than any other Costco have been to. Canadians must love Costco as well. Saw a few exceptional deals, one being a refrigerator. Could've saved about $700 USD on a refrigerator if knew they sold them here and you could take them away same day i guess. Plenty of other deals as well that they don't have in the USA. Ate at the food court and such change from the USA, they have French fries, mainly for poutine. Much better experience than Streats. Checkout, restrooms, and general service was great, very satisfied, and it's extremely close to the border. read more

Every Costco is super busy and this one is no exception. This Costco is at a strip mall where it operates more than half the space. I'm not one of the regular at Abby Costco, but it's different than other ones I've been to. It's less crowded than Richmond (so far from my neighborhood though) and convenient stop for your gas and grocery. The gas price was little cheaper than the ones in the city. Propane gas is also available and staff would even fill in tanks. Price varies depending on lb or gallons from what I remember. Self counter is available here. If you have less items just scan and pay, finito! Your shopping experience can be quick and easy. My shopping experience wasn't as horrific as Richmond and it was quieter here. They have coffee grinder machine by beverage fountain near the food court. Selections are slightly different by locations. read more

I'm a local photographer, I was parked taking photos of my vehicle after the store was closed and all other vehicles were gone. A man walked up and I was aggressively asked to leave the public parking lot as he stated it was a "membership only parking lot". I replied that I did, in fact have a membership and I was not causing any sort of congestion, havoc, and that not a single soul was around. First off you can get a hot dog and soda for $1.50, the whole world is having price inflation, Costco staying true to its roots. Gas is top quality and actually Costco gas is one of the cheapest gas you'll find in BC, usually always 10 cents a liter cheaper. They have monthly deals here, really good pricing And quality products. On Saturday, March 31, 2012, my husband and I went up to Canada and stopped at the Costco in Abbotsford, BC. Boy oh boy do the folks at the Costco's in Canada know how to do fastfood. Neither one of us have ever been to a Costco outside of the US and didn't know what to expect. We ordered poutine, chicken strips with fries and corned beef sandwitch with a pickle. Neither my husband or myself had ever heard of poutene. OMG! French fries, brown gravy and cheese curds. I am not a cheese curd fan but add it to french fries and gravy and I am all over that. After researching poutine on the internet apparently it is a Canadian concoction that has been around for awhile. Going through the line for the food at Costco you wouldn't think this gravy mix would be a popular food item I was sooo wrong and now I know why. Creamy Gravy Cheesey Goodness! I didn't taste the sandwich but my husband equated the meet to that of that of a reuben. He added sauerkraut and mustard. It seems lately when we order food we order way too much. On our tray we had chicken strips with fries and poutine. All this food could have fed 5 people. We ended up taken most of the food with us. We had a pleasant shopping experience. There was snacks from vendors sampling foods. We were able to find almost everything we were searching for. But when it came for us to check out they had no boxes and told us we needed to find some. If we wanted our things put in one. But my biggest complaint has to the the food concession. All I tried to order was fries. And they proceeded to make the order that day and after mine which happened to be poutine, the girl simply just forgot. It was incredibly unorganized. Ive never been this upset with any costco, except when i walking into this one( second time as a bad experience) From their customer service and racial profiling and everything in between is disgusting. I had walked into the store with a backpack like always and was asked to leave it in the front, like i was going steal something. When i proceeded check out they refused to sell me milk crate but i could tell you that my work shop is filled with them and had told them i had even recently purchased a couple. Then they made a huge stink, so i decided to go to my car and grab it. WHILE I WAS WALKING OUT I SAW 3-5 other people walk out with backpacks. That made me feel like it was a racial profiling as i was pretty much the only minority there, or my short shorts and cracked out legs that are really just mosquito bites from camping as i manage 8 campgrounds with my partner. When i came back and they still refused to sell me the milk crate and tell me that the only store i go to is the only store that sells them. Those words were words of LIES, i called 2 other locations and they both said they would be happy to sell me them. Dear costco, i dont like writing bad reviews but its the second time walking into this place and without feed back nothing will change. i hope you read this and talk with your management there as i am a long time customer and i know as a company you thrive to give good customer service. read more

Just off the Trans-Canada a few minutes and it was BUSY! Holy crap Costcos are busy, and this one was no different. I was just there to pick up a few pizzas (preordered from the fast food counter) and I entered through the exit only to be harassed by a Costco worker. "Show me your card." WTF. Honestly with Costco who cares to the hell comes in nowadays, you can't buy without a card anyway. (unless it's from the fast food counter). Was out in Abbotsford the other day and since I am a Costco fan I HAD to stop here. It was about 2 in the afternoon during the week and this place was a ficken MAD HOUSE. I would say that they deserve a 3.5 star but since I can't give that to them they are getting a 3. Now first off parking is a B****H. I was lucky and was able to find a spot relatively close but was still a distance. Once I was parked it was easy to get a buggy from the parking lot as no one seems to collect them too often lol. Anyway, I digress. Upon entering the store I found the entrance layout awkward. It's on a corner which makes it hard for drivers and pedestrians alike as you can just cross. If you have been there you should know what I mean. So of course after a long drive from New West I had to use the washroom. Now that was a chore too. It's on the far side of the store but NOT clearly marked and when we asked the Costco people where it was he was quite rude. Or maybe it was his tone of voice. Since I didn't know where on the other side of the store, I ended up in the Eye Centre because as I stated earlier, it's not well marked and the customer service lacks in explaining where it is. No I am not stupid but other side of the store behind the "fenced" area would have been better that just the other side of the store. By this time I am ANNOYED! I am ready to have a MR (midget rage) on the stupid people in the store. Yes, it must have been stupid people day because people have NO CLUE on proper etiquette in here. Leaving your buggy in the middle of the aisle, having two buggy's and a kid side by side blocking the aisle or cutting people off from behind because you have to get ahead when you're all turning the corner are all ways to drive me fricken NUTS. If you smile at me because you know you're a douche don't expect a smile back lol. What I did like was the sausage sample lady. She was very friendly and nice which calmed me down A LOT lol! I also hid in the animal section for a bit as it was quite there. Now you are probably asking why I gave it 3.5 stars well it was the Costco gas station lol! The prices were GREAT and the staff were super friendly. They also offered my dogs treats but asked me first, which is the polite thing to do. By the time I left the gas station I was back to my normal self lol. I will probably be back because I can get my Costco run and cheap gas at the same time. The staff here are always friendly, eager to help and quick to give a smile. Though inventory is regularly moved around, staff members always know where things are. Returns are effortless. Anything and everything can be returned without question. All staff members go above and beyond and make sure things go right. I have brought a pile of returns with many receipts and they don't ask questions. If I can't find the receipt they do what they can to look online for the date of purchase for a successful return. They all seem to love their job and make my weekly visit enjoyable! It's not just me that enjoys my time at the Abbotsford Costco, "Love my local Costco. Always friendly staff. Always stocked with my favourite staple items." (Bosco, Abbotsford Costco). Covid precautions are reasonable, as well. They are diligent with sanitization of the carts as well as high touch areas. Upon arrival, masks are available as well as sanitizer and wipes. They do limit numbers inside, so the line can get really lengthy. I have waited around 45 minutes to get in but when inside time flies by. The line outside means there are minimal lines inside which is nice. Gas prices are always much cheaper than anywhere else, so it's a must to go and get gas! You need to have a membership though. The clothing section is updated regularly, so be sure to check there. There are name brand clothes for a very reasonable price! Prices on the concession food are always reasonable and pretty yummy too, a quick and easy meal! A large hot dog and drink for $1.50 can't be beat! The best food though is the poutine, never had better! Their premade meals are always delicious but can tend to get pricey at times when feeding a larger family. My family's favourite is the chicken alfredo for around $15 which feeds a family of 5. Would definitely recommend it, even though it is a little on the pricey side. Their ready-made roasted chicken is the best price in town and is great for a variety of meals! Items are not always cheaper than regular grocery stores, so know your prices. Jerold Klassen reviewed Abbotsford Costco on google and wrote, "Lots of stuff to look at. Costco! Costco is a great store if you are looking to get great deals on Bulk Items. I suggest going in the morning or afternoons because the crowds aren't as massive. I usually shop costco for diapers and baby wipes however I do a fair bit of grocery shopping here as well. They have a great selection as far as food and products go. The crowds can be overwhelming especially when they walk around with zero sense of awareness. People tend to get in the way or not care if they're cutting you off. They have a gas station here which tends to be cheaper than other stations in the area. There's also a propane station where you can refill your propane tanks for cheap. My least favourite part of shopping at any Costco is when you finish paying for YOUR goods (which you technically own at this point) and getting frisked at the door on the way out with thee ol' check your receipt routine! I swear, one of these days I'm just gonna make a beeline for the door at full charge without stopping!! Lol. Actually, truth be known, I like to throw in my "Costco Dig" to the receipt checker. This review is for the Optical department. First I want to share my experience over the phone. I called the optic department a couple of days ago with questions about buying contact lenses online. An East Indian gentlemen answered and completely made me feel like I was incompetent. He was extremely rude and was brushing me off. Fast forward to today. My brother bought a pair of glasses online and they were needing to be adjusted. He went into the optical department and the same man was completely rude again and was angry that he did not buy the glasses from Costco. In all honesty I used to praise Costco. But the experience with this gentlemen has left a sour taste in my mouth with the optical department. He had no right to speak the way he did. We are customers and if we have questions we have the right to get answers in a proper manner. I highly recommend you to stay clear of this man. As he makes you feel horrible. My brother left and went to a different optical store and they were more then happy to adjust his glasses and help with any concerns. read more

Very friendly front end staff. Cafeteria staff works hard to keep starving tired customers happy but purchasing tires was a total nightmare. Tried 3 days in a row for proper service. Day one was told I didn't need new tires with 40%wear left. In my opinion none of her business if I wanted to take advantage of a Michelin rebate and get rid of the cheap tires that were on my 2018 Kia Rio decided to leave it for another day before the end of the sale. 2 days later went back was told the $60 rebate was over... argued that point and was told the rebate would come in the mail. Tires would be 10 days to come in which was fine. Day 3 phone call from them to set up appointment in 2 days which really shocked us. Drove 40 km to the appointment only to tell me the tires weren't in and we had been told that at the onset. Said we had been informed via voicemail. Choked with the service lost total confidence in having my car worked on by them cancelled my order got home to see the had called 25minutes prior to the appointment but did not leave a msg. We drove 3 hours to the Abbotsford Costco because they were the only store carrying a king mattress and box spring. We went to the customer service with the item number and were told to go find someone with a walking talkie and they'd get us some help to load the mattress onto the dolly. (I thought that's what customer service is for). I helped a friend purchase a mattress in a sam's Club in the states and we paid for it at customer service and they helped us load it onto our truck. But at the Abbotsford Costco we had to find someone with a walkie talkie who helped us get the mattress off the stack on the floor. We had to push this mattress through the store in it's flat position and take it through the checkout lane! It fit but they had to move carts and boxes to allow us to slide it through. While waiting in line ( the mattress blocked everyone who wanted to go by) we asked the person who helped us load the mattress onto the cart if they could please help put it into our truck and they said they didn't do that. "We are a cash and carry store." All 100 pounds of me was not amused. I was out in front of the store with the king mattress while the truck was being brought around and told a couple who was chatting with me what had happened. They were appalled and stayed to help us load the mattress! We can't thank them enough. Shame on the Abbotsford Costco. That was bad business practice and just plain mean! read more

Today was bad - every time else when we shopped was great. I waited in line, then placed my cart and items ready for the cashier. Lady in front had two or three items. When you scan the line to choose which one to select, you always look at the lineup. Anyways, my goods were one customer short of checkout, and all of a sudden, a young lady - most likely the lady's daughter, bypassed everyone with a full cart of groceries and started piling them up in front of me. The Costco staff accommodated this bad behavior by moving her cart in front of mine in the lineup. When I commented to the Costco staff, I was totally ignored. Both myself and the people behind me were totally taken aback with this allowed, if not encouraged, aberrant behavior. Phoned the manager a short time later, and suggested the cashier should phone back and apologize, but he would have nothing to do with this. Cashier name on the bill was Brittney. read more
