Admittedly, I've never made a big purchase here, but over the years I've picked up some accessories - both for myself and also at work. Each time, they always had what was needed, even a couple things that were fairly specific and perhaps a bit more rare than you would find at a Best Buy for example. Perhaps these things are available online, but the ol' brick and mortar can still be useful if you want something immediately or if you need some customer support and feedback. A few days ago my 8 year old MacBook air stopped charging. Apple makes reliable laptops, but it was my second charger which costs almost $100 to replace. Given the cost and especially given the current COVID reality of long shipping waits, I thought I'd first give CC a call and see what they had. They did have a 3rd party charger for less than half the price. They also said that they would still allow for a return if necessary which was reassuring as I wasn't sure if the problem was with my charger or laptop. The person on the phone was also very patient and helpful. When I arrived, they had the outside line well-organized and my item ready for me. The associate even allowed me to ensure the connection to work since mine is the older generation. Brought it home and it indeed worked! All in all, very happy that I could get back to using my laptop the same day and for half the price. That type of service is always helpful, but even more so during the current circumstances. read more

Called twice this morning hoping to get a quotation for a laptop repair. The initial answering of the phone is always quick, however both times I was transferred to the service department, I was on hold for about 5 minutes (silly me for waiting that long) and no one in service ever picked up my call. It's worse that while on hold, there's no music or beeping or any message playing to confirm that you're indeed still on the line. It's just dead silence which makes the whole perma-hold experience even worse while I'm wondering if anyone even knows still on hold. The second time I called I explained I didn't even know if anyone knew I was on hold or not and they just said "ok I'll transfer you" without acknowledging anything I said. Same thing happened. My daughter's PC work computer was broken and we needed to get it fixed asap so we took it to an independent guy in our town who butchered it (we found out later) and cost us a small fortune in parts. We quickly realized he had no idea what he was doing (another review) and took it to Canada Computers. Eric and Andrew could not have been more understanding and helpful. They were knowledgable and efficient. It was such a mess it took weeks to figure out the mystery so we bought another PC in the store and then returned it at full price when hers was ready. A girl needs to work! Andrew and Eric and of course the manager were so kind and didnt charge us the labour for the weeks of work which is a God send for a 20 something. Because she writes music for video games her computer is her life blood. The entire situation was very stressful for all of us but in the end thanks to Eric and Andrew it was taken care of! Highly recommend this fantastic store and these two particularly wonderful employees. Bravo! read more

My go to for computer parts when I need something same day. NCIX is gone. Newegg go rid of their pick-up/ willcall. Infonec no longer has a Mississauga location. Sometimes Amazon.ca is cheaper, but it takes at least a day to arrived and they will price match same. Staff is not pushy, and generally helpful when required. read more

Do yourself a favor, never ever let them put their hand on your computer. I am talking about their computer repair shop. They are a bunch of hobbyist at best, who might know slightly more about the computer hardware than an Average Joe. They do not have any diagnostic equipment. If your PC/laptop is new enough they may try to mix and match your computer parts with the ones they have in stock to figure out what is broken. If you own an older computer you are out of luck. They will charge you $50 for nothing. And consider yourself lucky if you get back all your computer parts. I let them "diagnose" my 6 year old PC. It would start but the boot process would not finish; the boot cycle would start again and again. I was pretty sure that it was either CPU or a motherboard problem. Since I had an older PC and quite unique CPU socket (2011-v3) they just could not find the matching parts in their stock thus they did nothing! When I came to pick up my PC the cooler fan was not attached, the gasket was missing. I refused to take my PC back . A week later they called me to let me know they had found the missing parts. Indeed the part were there but the PC was absolutely dead. All in all I got my PC back in a worse shape. Shame on you Canada Computers! read more

Meh. It's Canada Computers. Probably my *least* favorite computer shop, ever, to buy parts. Yet they generally have the best prices, so I find myself here more often than I'd like. The thing about Canada Computers is, it's affordable enough and easy to get served and get your item (most times). But God forbid there is something wrong with your product, getting them to do an exchange or refund or even RMA is worse than getting your teeth pulled. Anyone remember the CC employee who got shot by a disgruntled customer at Pacific Mall last year?? It's all coming together now... And beware, they are extremely shady bastards when it comes to repackaging returned/exchanged goods and selling them as brand new. Do a very good inspection on whatever you're buying, because these guys are as wormy as they get. Lastly, I'd say their price matching policy is a complete joke. It literally says "to put it simply, if we can do it, we will".. So you're basically saying, any pricematch is dependant on whatever mood you're in for that day? Blech. I have had a wonderful experience with this particular location. Overall, staff is very friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in person. They don't talk to you condescendingly, the way most other tech places do. In particular, RJay at the Service Desk has shown exceptional customer service; on more than one occasion, he was extremely patient and friendly, even when I asked a million questions. In fact, I've been going there so long that the majority of staff remember my face every time I'm in there and always tell me about new things in the store and current promotions. They are also very knowledgeable about computer components, budget building, technology and they will not guilt trip you into buying something you do not need! Believe me, I've already tried to buy something only to help them correct me and offer an alternative that surpassed what I required! If you're looking for an honest answer whether you're building a computer for business, gaming, or office work, or just want to try building one for the sake of experimenting, the staff behind the counters, while although they can be busy, will definitely help you! They also have aisles filled with computers that are already pre-assembled if building is not your thing. Believe me, anything and everything that goes into technology can be found here. And if you need to special order an item that is currently not at the store, I've had really good experiences with getting my orders in promptly! Located in a seedy old strip mall between a thrift store and a market on a busy strip of Queen St. in Brampton. There is always enough parking which is a plus but tough to get to if you need parts during rush hour. For me this is a great alternative to a big box store when I want to buy computer parts as I can be in and out pretty quick and find what i'm looking for. Unfortunately, if you need help from someone they fall short as the staff seems to avoid customers when possible and when I do ask for help give me general answers and can't wait to dash away. The girl who is usually at checkout is always very nice which is a bonus. read more

2 Days ago i went to Canada computers to pick up some items and as i got there an employee at the door stopped me and demanded to know what I was going into the store to buy. Confused I asked why and he told me he wouldn't let me go into the store if I couldnt ensure to him I was going to make a purchase. This contradicts the purpose of a store because if they ended up not having what i was looking for technically i would be breaking the rules. The whole idea of coming into a store is to browse for the best item for what is needed. I informed him of what I needed and after a 5 minute wait he allowed me into the store. My experience after was pretty straightforward and after complaining to another employee about what happened at the door he helped me out and I got my items. In conclusion, if you're coming to the store, do your research beforehand and only try to get what you need don't rely upon the employees to help you out. Update: I went back to the store the next day to talk to a manager about my experience and after what I had to say he mumbled something about their protocol and COVID-19 and walked away. Again I will reiterate if you come to make a purchase here try to order online or do prior research to limit the amount of employee interaction you will have to deal with. Also response time for the store phone is bad as i called in multiple times with no response or answer. All these people saying they are not tech savvy going into a computer store. Deal with it. They saved me 60 bucks and stopped me from buying something I didn't need. For all those people complaining that the service is bad, if you want to get a cheapy little iphone charger for your car go to best buy, and get ripped off even harder there. Plus, if your car still has to charge stuff with the cigarette outlet, then your car is ancient get a new car. Problem solved. Most cars nowadays have a built in 3 pronged outlet. The service is great, much better than best buy. They don't treat you like idiots there. They really help you out and give you pointers, especially if you are a computer builder. Canada Computers has the best prices in town on anything to do with Computers. Recently purchased an Andriod device from them that was broken. Device had obviously been repackaged but they were very helpful in replacing it. Would suggest a slightly easier process to replace the device. I found the staff extremely helpful and courteous, while I usually go to them for the price, I find that the staff willingness to help is something that is very rare in discount computer store. I should be clear I am talking about the Brampton Computers Store, my expereinces in there other stores has not been nearly as pleasant. read more

Every one of my experiences at this shop has been horrendous. A few years back, I was looking for a connector for my car to play music from my iPod. The salesman sold me a device. At that point in my life, I'm not that tech savvy and this whole connectivity thing is too new. I go out to the parking lot, try making the thing work with my iPod, and it doesn't work. So I go back in and ask to see the manager and he says this is not what you need. I ask for my money back and they tell me they don't do returns even though I literally bought it 5 min ago a fit was their own guy who sold me the wrong thing. Instead, they gave me store credit. Couple other times since then, I have bought stuff from them and it has been defective. And when you bring it back to them, good luck trying to get an exchange. They work by the mantra that customer is a cheater. They would never ever accept responsibility for selling you defective stuff. They say tough luck mate. By my accounts there are basically 3 types of retail businesses. The first is the kind of place where prices are good and you can forgive or overlook the lack of service because of it. You know what it is you need and service be damned. You get in quick and get out even quicker. You barely even register an image on the security cam. The second kind reeks of pampering and indulgence and from the time you walk through the gilded entrance you're led to believe you are the last royal member of a lost magical kingdom. "Stay as long as the money or credit allows " they say. The kind of place you're too embarrassed to admit to your sensible friends that you actually purchased something inside of this Shangri-La. The kind of place you dream about when you're dreaming you're asleep. This place is definitely the third kind. The kind of place where you can't return anything and exchanges have to be done on certain Tuesdays during a certain phase of the moon where the high priestess sacrifices a certified virgin and you have a receipt. Otherwise phone the manufacturer. My advice is run the other way. With exchange or return policies like this, who needs brick and mortar stores? You can order online and deal with the manufacturer if and when that times comes. More and more brick and mortar stores have this policy of avowing themselves of warranty service. Costco may be the last bastion of a decent return or exchange policy. read more

They sold me a completely bad spindle of RiData blu-ray dual-layer discs. When I came back to them with the discs to ask for help at their service department with burner at-hand, the service department became defensive and started blaming everything else but their discs. Their most senior service employee even questioned whether imgburn had the capability to burn these blu-rays. In the end, they refused to return or refund the discs, which was clearly not what I had asked for. I don't think I will be going there anymore... read more

I bought a GTX 470 for over $350 and was having problems with it but unfortunately I'd lost the receipt. So I went back the next day to try and return it. I'd purchased it on a credit card so I told them I could get the statement which they said didn't matter. I then went up to the person I'd bought it from to have him tell the returns person that I'd purchased it the previous day. the sales person even said they had a copy of the receipt but I still couldn't return it since someone who found my receipt could go out buy a card somewhere else and return it to them.. Its not like they're some low tech who don't have a system to ensure a product is not returned multiple times because returns are processed by there system with individual purchase numbers. I talked to the manager and he said he couldn't help but it felt like he didn't care to unlike the 2 clerks. read more
