I called the owner and spoke to him and he told me he was stuck on the freeway and wouldn't be at the store for an hour that was at 11:30 in the morning he had every excuse in the book for why he was not open, even though the website says he's open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Things in life happen, but four days of not being open when he said he's going to be open, and not answering or returning phone calls? Avoid this place like the plague. They advertise great prices, and they say that they have current products in stock, and they may well do. But they have to be open in order for you to buy them.

I have come to Wintel Computers several times over the past couple of years and have decided that I…read morewill not be using their services any longer. Last year, I came because my laptop had suddenly gone dead. I believe Eric was the one given the task of repairing it. He came to the conclusion that the hard drive had died. Instead of contacting me to discuss options, he just went ahead and installed a new drive with no go-ahead from me. When I called after many days to find out what was happening because I had had no call in regard to its progress, he informed me that the drive was dead and that he could not recover any of the data from the old drive. When he realized that I was very upset, then he half-heartedly said he was sorry. I did not believe him. Some efforts were then made to recover the lost data, but I was then told that there had been no success in getting any back. Recently, I was having troubles again with the computer going dead. I was told that the charger cable was defective and purchased a new one. This worked for a few days, then the laptop died again. I brought it to Wintel for testing; Eric called the next day to say that it was working again. When I picked it up, he yelled from the back that I should make sure to charge it. HOW STUPID DOES HE THINK I AM??? Of course I charge it; it is plugged in all the time!! But he was obviously not interested in exploring exactly why the laptop had died again or in explaining what had caused it to die again, or in educating me properly about my laptop - all he wanted to do was charge me $40.00 for recharging it!! What highway robbery!! I then took the laptop to another repair shop, and they saw immediately that the charger was not the right wattage for my laptop - it had half the strength that it was supposed to have. Since I got the right charger, the laptop has worked fine, no thanks to Eric or Wintel. Other reviews on their site are positive; of course, who knows who wrote those reviews?

We headed here on an errand to get new headphones. We came to Canada Computers because we knew…read morethere would be a better selection than Best Buy and more knowledgeable staff. As soon as we came in, we were greeted and asked what we could be helped with. We were directed to the aisle we needed, and told to ask staff on the floor for any questions we had on the products. Sure enough, there were dozens of brands and models on the shelves. A floor staff came by and offered assistance. We asked what brands they personally preferred, and they gave their top 2 recommendations. We narrowed our choices, also noting that several models were on sale. In general, I've found their pricing highly competitive before as well. There were so many choices, it was a bit overwhelming to keep the features on them all straight. We easily located another staff passing by, and they answered questions about the models we had narrowed it down to. In total, we approached staff 3 times. They were honest and helpful. Even when we got to the checkouts, the staff asked whether we needed anything else, and mentioned a helpful tip about contacting the manufacturer to inquire about a replacement part for the previous headphones. (Turns out that the manufacturer could do that, and sent the replacement part in the mail free of charge.) We were carefully advised that they can't accept a return on the item if the box is opened, but not a problem with the receipt in the number of days specified otherwise. I also love that they're not in the mall and have ample parking in the plaza. I've never regretted shopping here, so I don't bother buying electronics anywhere else before coming here first.
