I was a usual customer and I had the worst experience today, even from Customer Service, they didn't allow me to pick up my order cuz my ID wasnt Canadian, even when I have already paid, went with the same credit card and code, and the ID I've been using without any issues before. I use an older laptop and Canada Computer had ONE REMAINING ADAPTER left (very helpful woman at the call centre who went above and beyond). Hubby went to pick up the adapter at this store. I won't get into details here other than to say that after an unbelievable 7 weeks of delay after delay & excuse after excuse as I waited for my laptop to undergo fairly simple diagnostics & repairs, I believe it's not an exaggeration for me to say this: aside from the friendly nature & occasional consideration of a repair tech at their midtown Toronto store, the slowest, most incompetent & unreliable customer service I've ever received, on numerous levels, has been from Canada Computers & Electronics. It's a business owned & operated by people who care little to nothing about creating and fostering positive, ongoing relationships with its customers. For those of you visiting this page hoping for some reassurance that Canada Computers & Electronics will meet your tech-related needs but are instead seeing the many, many negative reviews here, please take heed and consider yourselves warned. These guys need to get their story straight. After our laptop broke I took it in for a quote and was told $100 and two weeks. So we came back the next day to do it and were then told several hundred dollars and a few months! I took it to a shop in Scarborough where they fixed it in one hour for $80. I wouldn't come here for repairs. read more

Great product selection, lots of knowledgable staff. I bought a laptop here about 2.5 years ago and was really impressed by how helpful the staff was. As a result of my first experience, I went back recently to purchase a tv and an Andriod box. Once again, the employee who assisted me was very helpful. I decided a few days later to exchange my tv for another and to purchase an additional Android box. I made sure to ask about the return/exchange policy before my purchase. The store manager processed my return so it came as a surprise to me that I was being refunded less 10% because of a restock fee. I asked the manager why I hadn't been clearly notified of this when I first enquired and where I could find that in print. He wasn't able to answer my first question but pointed me to their website for the details of their return/exchange policy. I expressed that it is completely unreasonable to expect a customer to do this prior to a purchase and reminded him that I was there to purchase ANOTHER tv and box. He remained firm on the 10% restock fee. I pointed to the Best Buy across the street and asked him what the incentive was for me to complete my purchase with Canada Computers. He offered to drop the re-stock fee to 5%. I reminded him that my purchase was significantly more than the re-stock fee and if he would consider waving it all together. He did not. So I went across the street and purchased my tv and additional Android box at Best Buy. read more

I have been a satisfied customer with Canada Computers for over a decade, first when I lived downtown at the College St. location and now at the Midtown location on Yonge St. I have always had excellent customer service especially when it came to repairs for my computers. Today I was very well received by Peter L. at the Midtown location. I came in with a series of computer issues and he was very patient, extremely knowledgeable and more than helpful. I ended up purchasing a new external hard drive and a wireless printer. The most impressive thing I found about Peter L., was his ability to skillfully and graciously manage not only my concerns and questions but his fellow colleges who were constantly asking for his advice. Ridiculously unhelpful and lazy staff as of late. Lady that picks up the phone sounds like she'd rather be in bed, and is the same in person. Guy that greets you at the door doesn't greet you, he just blankly stares. Called ahead regarding a router that was on sale, ended up buying it, but extremely unhelpful staff, and not friendly. It's a "Buy it or leave it" type of place, they don't care at this location. Tried to buy an expensive videocard, called ahead to reserve it, website said 1 left, lady said yes. I show up and it wasn't even in stock, she failed to even check what version EVGA card I had asked for. Not a care in the world, total waste of time. it's a completely different experience across the street at NCIX where the staff approach YOU and say hello, and greet you properly with a smile. Great folks over there. I'll spend my money there, not at this joke of an establishment. Send everyone to a proper training session, ridiculous here. Feels like a used car lot. read more

I'm beginning to wonder if they were trained by telecom customer support staff. Customer service at this place is terrible. I Made a phone call to inquire about a product that I was going to RMA (instructed by the manufacturer). I got through to their service desk and the guy blatantly responded with, "Look buddy I'm trying to help you." After telling me to dismantle my entire rig to return all the wires that came with my power supply I was trying to return he then proceeded to tell me that if I tried to buy another identical one and swap them out (even though all the wires are identical) he wouldn't take it. I told him, "I'm not your buddy, please let me speak to your manager." He hung up the phone and then refused to answer the phone for the next 15 minutes. Shop somewhere else. read more

Sold a broken unit to me and called it refurbished. The store manager raising his voice was extremely disrespectful. The unit was advertised as boxing week 40 percent off. The staff were extremely rude and nasty. DO NOT go there. They didn't refund me even the fact that I showed them the leather was ripped and the packaging was missing stuff. Great store, I backordered a RTX 3070 and got a call back in about 2 weeks. Saved me the hassle of looking for "good" deals on the card on resale and paying terribly inflated prices. I ended up paying extra for another model because that was all they got restocked but definitely still way cheaper than anything I would've gotten from scalpers online even for the founder's edition. Highly recommended if you're looking for any of the new hardware. read more

These guys are pros pure and simple. I purchased a TV from their manager (I think his name was Simon) and I couldn't have had a better experience. I went to best buy first (BIG MISTAKE) and I called these guys from there after being jerked around. They gave me a way better deal, way friendlier and more knowledgeable service. They turned a really bad shopping experience from best buy into a FANTASTIC one from them. I honestly couldn't recommend this store more. While other electronic retailers are going belly up, these guys are in expansion mode and it's easy to see why. Great stuff, great prices, great people! read more

I've bought both a desktop and laptop from these folks, plus a ton of accessories. I started shopping at their original store on College Street. I recently had to return a router that I'd just purchased, but was failing to load open source firmware. I was prepared for a conflict but they did not give any hassle and gave me my money back. I was impressed. For a computer store, they have a huge selection and can order stock from other stores when needed. I have nothing but good things to say, except their selection of surveillance cameras is not adequate. read more

I went to this location about a month ago to do research on sound systems and tv's. I came back on the 14th of Aug, 2014 to buy a new TV, Game System, Laptop, and other accessories. The store was undergoing some renovations, so I had to ask for help locating things. The renovations at the time I was there were being done to the room where the TV's had been on display previously. I asked the staff members helping me if I could get some sort of deal for buying so many items, and the manager seemed very happy to oblige. When I was ready to make my purchase, the total came to just under $3000. I asked the manager about delivery, and he pulled out a small dolly and told some of his guys to walk the equipment over to my apartment. Luckily, my friend came buy with a truck, and the staff loaded the TV and other items in to the truck. I got home and unpacked the TV, then put it on the stand. I had to leave it until the next day though. The next day I decided to clean up before unpacking the rest of the stuff, so I cut up the TV box and threw it out. I unpacked the home theatre unit and Xbox One, connected everything to the TV, then turned the TV on. The entire screen was white, except for long streaks of black and blue across the screen. The TV was damaged. I returned to the store and find out that without the original box, the Manager will not accept the TV for an exchange. I went home and dug through the trash but was unable to find any of the boxes (I live in a building, so it's not just my own garbage.) When I returned again, the Manager accused me of breaking the TV during transport because "it's a very fragile device, and it needs to be placed a certain way." I reminded him that it was him and his staff that put the TV in the truck, so if it was damaged because of how it was placed in the truck, it was his fault. He kept saying it was my fault, and then followed it up with "But I'm not blaming you." He refused to take the TV back. Next day, I went to return everything else. The manager wasn't happy. I told him if he refuses to accept responsibility for what happened, then I can't shop at his store with confidence again. When I brought up the possibility that the TV may have been damaged during renovations, he refused to accept that possibility and again said it was my fault, but not my fault. The manager said he will do what he can for me, and asked me to call the manufacturer. I am now waiting to hear back from them, however I suspect this is just a stall tactic from the manager so that by the time the manufacturer agrees to replace (or not replace) the TV, he can say the return window has expired. I'll update this when the time comes. I suppose the next time a manager offers to sell me a $1200 TV for $800, I should be very wary. I'm glad that I didn't try the laptop before returning it. He'd probably refuse to take that back too. read more

They sold a defective motherboard with the extended warranty. Returned it the next day and the manager Jin Huang said it was my fault and refused to do anything. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere and I certainly don't recommend the extended warranty read more

Prices were very good to excellent, I bought a laptop and phone here, though it took both the reps there a little while until I directed them that I wanted to purchase the two specific items. Very happy with the quality of both, especially the laptop, but even the phone was somewhat better than I expected for the money, since I was on a tight budget for a smartphone although they answered my questions well. I went here about a year and a half ago for a mini SD card which is among the lowest in store price if not the lowest, and it worked very well. Definitely recommend this location, especially if you need a USB data stick or SD cards, whether the regular ones or mini SDs. Also has some games in the back. Coming back again, no question about it. read more
