Called to have this tree service take out a dead tree and some limb removal at some rental properties I own in Portage. They showed up for the estimate (unlike two other local tree companies that left me waiting for nothing), then they were prompt to schedule the actual service. I want to start out by saying the professionalism of the owner, Cam was outstanding. His follow up on ensuring that I knew when my trees would approximately be done was appreciated. His call the day before also was appreciated. Communication is key to good business practices. His crew arrived at my home and started work immediately. The crew never slowed down even today in this very hot muggy day. The lead guys were informative, professional and very courteous while doing the work. I do not want to discount the other part of the team but they were very busy themselves. I wish I would have gotten their names because I would have mentioned all of them. I have never had my trees professionally done. I really did not know what all to expect. I will tell you that the yard was as clean after the job was done as it was before they started. Do not waste your time. They came to our house and gave us an estimate for removal of 2 trees (which appeared reasonable). They further indicated they would do the work in the next several days. After 2 weeks, they were contacted and seemed to have forgotten all about us. After finally recalling, they stated they would be out that afternoon to do the job. Guess what? No call, no show. Cam's has very poor customer service. We called several times, left messages, and received no call backs about getting a dead tree removal estimate. When we finally got through to the business representative, she gave us specific appointment times when she would be out. But she cancelled multiple times. On the day she finally came, it was two hours later than what was originally promised. When she arrived, she sat in her car on our driveway for at least 10 minutes. She had expected that we meet her outside at her vehicle. She finally got out of the car, but didn't greet us with her name, a smile, handshake, or hello. When asked for her business card, she didn't provide one. She barely spent 10 minutes looking at the tree. Her first comment was that her service wouldn't be able to bring any equipment into our yard, and that our tree was dangerous for her workers. She questioned whether we had other quotes, and why we hadn't gone with another company. The final straw came when we asked her to provide the company's license, bonding, and insurance information. She defensively responded that Cam's had been in business for over 20 years, and that if CAM'S decided to do business with US, they would send us the information. Overall, very rude and unprofessional. Will not choose Cam's to do business with even if they "choose" us. read more

There was a storm(wind storm) Sunday night here in hobart...we have a tree on the side of our house and it split it in half and half of it was in the neighbor's yard...my mom called cam's tree service and they came right out my mom is very satisfied with them!!!!...,good prices and very nice workers did a great job...would highly recommend them to anyone!!! read more
