The store is clean and has an organized feel you don't often find in book stores. As their name suggests, they also have an impressive selection of handmade goods that would make a perfect gift for anyone in your social circles. I had a lot of fun chatting with the owner as well. Even though I popped in right before closing, I didn't feel rushed out or like I was an imposition (which I was, oops). While some of the items are a few dollars more than what you would pay on amazon, the experience and the atmosphere are more than worth the spend. And the chance to support and local business that enhances the community is absolutely priceless. PS. Turns out NM is like a mall that's been shrunk down, overpriced, and jammed into an industrial-style building. Elizabeth's Bookstore is a square section, maybe 10' x 10', with 3 walls displaying spaced-out, front-facing books, a digital kiosk for checkout, and a QR Code for their digital store. Here's what Elizabeth's Bookstore does NOT have: - Any human people working there (booksellers? staff? nope!) - Chairs, sofas, or anyplace to comfortably sit and read a book - Bookshelves. Literally! There were displays, but no actual bookshelves. Hope you like one of the 20 preselected books? - Any sound cancellers or any other means of cultivating a non-industrial, bookshop-like atmosphere I don't really want to leave a 1 star review, because it is genuinely independent. And, it's associated with a writing center and hosted events in 647 Coffee (different location), which seem pretty cool! But I felt like I had to write something to give others a heads up. If you're looking for a great indie bookstore in Akron, unfortunately, this isn't it. Really not a place to peruse a selection of books, buy one, and hunker down with a coffee to read. Nor is it really possible to host a writing group or book club here. I hope it someday grows enough to move into a location that allows bookshelves and staff. Plenty of seating, reliable Wi-Fi, enough outlets to keep everything charged, and I had more than enough room for both my laptop and portable monitor. They also have a great selection of books if you need a break from the screen. The staff was welcoming, the coffee was excellent, and the avocado toast definitely lived up to the hype. My only note is that it runs a little chilly inside, so I'd bring a sweater. Other than that, it's an easy 10/10 and a spot I'll definitely be back to.

Kidding aside, I absolutely love this place. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and if they are able to, they order the books that I request, no problem. Their selection of books is fantastic as well, and the way they've separated the books by genre is a great way to keep things fresh and interesting as well as help me discover new books in my favorite genres. They also do monthly book boxes that I have never been disappointed in. Yes, the books are not as cheap as you'd find them on Amazon. But Jeff Bezos sucks and underpays his workers and treats them terribly, so maybe there's a reason why everything on that site is so cheap. On the other hand, at this store, you get to take a look at the book, especially if it's a different edition (some with sprayed edges, variant covers, or signed by the author), which offers a better, more personable experience at the end of the day. Besides, people complain about how there are no third spaces for people to go to anymore. The place has an array of beverages to purchase as well as seating where you can just settle down with whatever you've purchased and just read. I've also stumbled upon a few book clubs through the store hosting some of them, and met authors through the store's hosted events. This is the kind of business we need more of in Medina: community-minded, passionate, personable, and fun.
