I bought a new camper from Ethan who seemed nice enough , then he turned me over to the sales manager Dave who sold me a bill of goods worth $6500. I decided I didn't want them, things like gap insurance, tire & wheel protection, etc. They agreed but they never told my bank who shows I owe $19,000 but should be $6500 less. Ive gone up there personally three times and they lied to my face. So I'm now looking for a good attorney to sue for damages. My patience is at an end! read more

I sold my 2021 freedom elite 22fe.  Nothing but problems and camping world didn't prep the rv at all.  It had a big leak, frig didn't work  steering was very loose, hitch had missing bolts and nuts after 500 miles. Not tightened at factory  plumbing leaks, black water pull close to impossible to close. We were told the half open black water value was closed by Camping World resulting in me getting black water dumped on ME!  Black Water gray water indicator lights switched.   rv door didn't close right. I lost a ton of money when I sold it.  Never buy a Thor or deal with Camping World. read more

The refrigerator/freezer in our Skoolie went out while traveling cross-country and to make matters worse, it gave out on a Friday after everything was closed. Monday morning we were at Camping World when they opened. We spoke with Don in service and explained our dilemma; food on ice to try to save what we had, nowhere to stay overnight, etc. Don and his team were so accommodating to get us in for service right away. They quickly diagnosed the problem and thankfully it was just a fuse. But, due to the manufacturer's design, the whole unit had to be pulled to reach the fuse in the back of the unit! Our tech, Josh, was wonderfully innovative to relocate the fuse assembly to a place that we could easily access if needed in the future! We were able to get back on the road in a timely manner and for a reasonable fee. We would recommend Camping World of Springfield MO to anyone looking for a reputable, friendly and accommodating place for RV repairs. We took our trailer in to have the hot water heater replaced. WHAT A DISASTER! We live over an hour away . They called and said it was ready for pickup. We got home and went to fill up with water so we could begin our trip and water went everywhere! The had neglected to tighten the clamps on the hose They had left trash in the trailer from cleanup, and not strapped the chairs back down. in addition they charged us $75.00 to replace an external fuse holder which contest of cutting 2 wires and crimping new wire in (5 minutes at most!) When I called they said to bring it back in and they would fix it. Which they did. All in all puss poor service for over $700 . They won't be getting my business again. Avoid them if at all possible! read more

We were afforded the opportunity to interact with this particular Camping World on more than one occasion. We dealt with the parts and service department who took the time to answer questions and hear our concerns. That being said we were able to come up with a resolution that resolved our problem. We had already researched and priced what we thought we needed. Pricing was not out of line in comparison with Amazon. During a visit my husband met with Brandon Bredhrars who listened to the desires of his dream RV. The next day I was introduced to Brandon and found him to be knowledgeable of the RV's he represents. I do believe my husband would be driving that RV today if I hadn't intervened lol. Lordy we bought a Jayco from Camping World less than a year ago. Just not quite ready to flip it lol When the day comes to upgrade, and it will, there is no doubt we will buy from Camping World. We've been coast to coast in our Jayco without a problem. My husband & I bought a BRAND NEW unit, we had to wait a week to pick up due to work schedules. plenty of time to get the keys from wherever it came from. With that being said we show up to pick up our unit, completed our walk through, was told they put water in it to show us how everything works (makes sense) so we asked if it would be winterized again since adding the water. Service guy said yes. Never happened. During walk through noticed a dent in the fridge (brand new unit) was advised that they will start a claim and need pictures. None of this took place until we were leaving and verified it had been done !!! With that raised more questions, what else did they forget, oh yeah that would be our power cord. Again service just walks around not notifying us of anything. If it weren't for our Sales guy Max we would have never gotten the power cord!! Needless to say this place is GARBAGE for customer service. THE ONE AND ONLY GOOD EXPERIENCE WAS MAX our sales guy because he literally served as service as well. AND STILL NO KEYS A WEEK LATER !!! Recently purchased a RV and while we are not newbies, we felt they could have done better with reviewing the operations of the RV. We had a quite a few problems with the RV as soon as we drove off the lot. AC doesn't blow out the the main vents, abs and stability lights continue to come on knocking off the cruse control. Auto level doesn't work correctly, shower leaks... and setting up fixes under the warranty have been exhausting. I think we should have got better service on the purchase of a brand new RV. read more

Said it would be at least a week or more to diagnose get part and install. Wow! Suppose I did not live in the area and I were out of town what would you do then? They wouldn't even unhook camper when dropping off for a/c fix. He just stood there in the hot sun and watched 2 women in hook. I have successfully talked to people out of going to buy anything from camping world. And I will continue. They have got to be the worst people I have ever dealt with in many many years. Bought a brand new camper one month ago. Had it in front of the house while we moved out of the house, pulled it to our spot and the refrigerator/freezer won't work (no check light on), been plugged in to shore power and propane running for 4 days and nothing. Furnace will also not work. Texted my sales guy and all I get is sorry your having problems you can google RV mobile repair. Of course now that's it's loaded down I can hook back up and drive the 1 1/2hr to the store to have them repair things in a brand new camper. They had to bring the camper from another dealer and my salesman didn't bother finding out what time I was picking it up so I'm sure he rushed it through there "service check" since I showed up the morning I told the finance guy. The pantry cabinet door is bowed, there are little chips marks in the floor where they dragged something. I would avoid this place, they are to big and just trying to make sales. Look for a smaller more family RV dealer. read more

I'm going to try and keep this short, as I feel that it is important that everyone read this in it's entirety. First we have read tons of reviews of Camping World's Strafford MO location (wish we had read them before taking our RV to them)... most reviews are negative and have to do with customer service and their service department. We took our 2016 Highland Ridge Open Range to them on 8/26/2017 to be sold on consignment, we were charged a $254 fee to go through the unit to make sure everything was in working order, & to make sure it was clean. (It had been thoroughly cleaned, all tanks drained and the black tanks flushed four times before taking it to them) Our first issues started almost immediately, with the service department calling to say that the black tanks needed to be drained and flushed, that the stove was not getting any gas to the burners, that two outdoor lamp lenses needed to be replaced, front jack won't auto level, inverter inoperable...We were none to happy to hear them say that the black tanks needed to be drained and flushed as we knew that it had already been done very well, and we had been living in the rig until very recently and the stove was working just fine, also had had no problems with the inverter or the leveling system, but since we still had warranty on the unit we told them to go ahead with only repairs that would be covered under warranty. They ended up replacing one lamp lens and the inverter, (we are none to sure that any of that work needed to be done). Richard in the service department told us that we had no warranty and that no manufacture provides more than one year warranty, after a pretty ugly conversation with Richard we called Highland Ridge to verify the warranty and then Richard told us that Camping World doesn't handle warranty work for Highland ridge...after calling the Regional manager (in case anyone needs to call him Billy Cardwell 417- 736- 2341 ext 1210) we were finally told that of course we handle the work for Highland Ridge. We simply waited until our three month contract ran out with them and called to ask that Miles (our sales person) have it ready for us to be picked up on Saturday 12-02-2017...we were told that it would be "staged" and ready to pick up out in the front driveway, which is where they put the units to be picked up, when we got there our 42 1/2 foot rig was tucked away back by the service bays and blocked in by not only one but three different RV's, the lights were left on inside, the propane tanks were all fully open, the interior doors were not secured, the plug from the hot water tank was rolling around in the underbelly, it was filthy, and the code on the exterior door has been changed...plus there were a group of Camping World employees standing out front watching and snickering at us trying to get our rig out...like a bunch of grade school girls not playing nicely with others. We've been thinking that their time might be better spent in some training on working in a customer service position. After getting it home we tried the stove and it fired off first try on all burners, also no issues with the second lamp lens that they wanted to replace, and the auto leveling system is working fine, so pleased that most of the work they requested was turned down by Highland Ridge. Needless to say we will never set foot in another Camping World location, we will spread the word as far and as wide as we possibly can, and we will continue to wonder why in the world Camping World INC allows this location to continue to treat its customers so poorly...sorry I didn't keep this short as promised read more

While on my way to Arkansas, I pulled into this Camping World location (on a very busy Saturday) because my slide roof kept unfurling in the strong wind. I sought out the service manager (Pete K) who quickly took a look at the problem. Pete then called his tech on duty (Tim P) who spent 45 minutes on the problem. In less than an hour I was back on the road at no charge. Unfortunately, the temporary fix didn't work but I applaud the service team for trying to find a reasonable resolution. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!! Went to them to have new steer tires put on, the incompetant mechanic took an impact wrench to the simulator hub and destroyed it. They said they would make it right. They pounded and tac welded and slapped it on the wheel. I told them it needed to be replaced because it was undamaged when we brought it into them. They agreed and told us it would be a week. That was a month ago. It will cost us $600.00 because they come in a set and we paid $1500.00 for the shoddy work they did. They are still giving us the runaround and lying to us. We are thinking about suing. I have been all over the country, this is by far the worst. The staff is unconcerned about the incompetance of its mechanics and do not care about its customers. Where to start with this dealer. Paul in finance ran my credit without asking after I was told they would hold my information until I found the right travel trailer. Then after Steve the sales manager apologized and told me that this wasn't normal business practices I decided to continue talking to them about another rv they had for sale. We talked numbers and couldn't come to an agreement. The next week I saw that the price had been reduced to what I had offered and I contacted Steve to find out if I could talk about purchasing. Steve was on the lot and said he would contact me to work a deal. Later that evening I contacted Steve to ask why he didn't respond and I was told the trailer was already sold. So after 5 weeks of talks having them run my credit without telling me they sold the only trailer I was interested in without even giving me a call. Now I have a hard inquiry from them without any possibility of purchasing a rv. I would avoid this place like the plague. What a disgrace to the camping world brand. A little follow up and common sense goes a long ways. It isn't that hard to pick up a phone and give a customer a heads up. read more

I found the camper I wanted online and they stated they could drive it up from the other CW location. After all the games and being lied to, I drove to the other location myself and picked it up. I recently purchased my popup camper from Camper World and we really loved camping!! So we wanted to go a head and upgrade so the whole family could come since we had such a great time. I found the perfect model so I got a hold of Camper World and told them what I wanted to do and that I had financing all lined out! So Wes came back to me with numbers that did not match online pricing? He then backed peddled and changed the numbers to match online pricing. He pretty much told me that Camper World ripped me off on my camper and they can only give me $500 for something I paid $2000 and I also have to pay $195 stock fee and another $695 fee for a presentation and warranty. I told him I do not want any of those "fees" that just magically appeared and I would like $2000 for my trade...he became rude and said I seemed like a "smart women" sexiest anyone? He then said he would see what he could do....he could back 15 minutes and it magically sold how sad we live a world of covid-19 and families want to camp and be safe and you have these kind of sharks taking advantage of people at these hard times read more

My husband and I made an appointment on 8/29 (Saturday) to look at campers and try to decide what we were wanting. We were new to this. There was a used but fairly new camper that just came in. We were told the price while still standing out on the lot and also told that we could put a $500 deposit down to hold it for two weeks. If we changed our minds, the $500 would be returned; so decided to go inside to start the buying process. I specifically confirmed that there would only be one hard credit inquiry while shopping for best rates. I was told "yes". So we signed the agreement with all the extra charges etc on it. We were told we could pick it up the following Saturday. On Tuesday I had heard nothing. On Wednesday I finally spoke with finance who ran our credit three more times. After talking with our own bank, our bank stated the camper was way overpriced and when I looked at the base number, I realized that it was over $1200 more than the verbal agreement that we made. Our bank would not loan more than what it was worth, which is a lot less than the price, so the salesman stated that we can cancel and get our check back. The check had already been cashed on Monday before financing was even secured. After several text messages, I am still waiting on our refund with no answers. read more

We bought a used camper from Camping World in Strafford Mo. Talking to salesman Brien Sanders we asked him what was wrong with it and he told us that only the heater didn't work and windows needed recaulked. As I am disabled I specifically asked him if anything else was wrong and he guaranteed us that there wasn't. After getting home we found out holding tank not only had all of pipes missing but also had big hole in it where the pipes connect to it. Now we found out Hot Water Heater also doesn't work. I called manager and he said they do not know the condition of them when they get them in on trade, that is why they sell them as is. I can understand that but he acted proud his salesman was able to take advantage of a disabled person knowing I wasn't able to crawl under trailer to check condition! I recently purchased a travel trailer from Camping World in Strafford. This experience was as good as it gets. I am a very cautious consumer and usually it takes me month before I will make a major purchase especially a travel trailer(something I have never dealt with in the past). Rhonda and Bill took their time until we had found the perfect travel trailer. Brain and Paul made sure that the numbers fit into my very limited budget and it took Dewey just a few minutes to do the paperwork and even after the sale everyone stayed as nice and friendly as they were before I made the purchase(being in the car business my whole life I have to say that this is not a given anymore). Berry and Kenny took their time to walk me though the store and made sure that I had everything that I needed for my first trip with my new travel trailer. I would recommend Camping World to anyone that is looking for an RV read more

I had a very bad experience. We had a deal done went to pick up camper and sign paperwork the salesman comes out and says we our running about four hours behind. We had an appointment that they gave us to be there. We drove two hours one way. They knew they was running behind but failed to give us a call. We rescheduled for the following day. On the way home they called said there was a problem with the warranty. This is a brand new camper didn't say what the problem was but it would be 7-10 days before we could pick up camper. We walked away. Very poor customer service. I know things happen however pick up a phone and give someone a call. They did offer us a hundred dollar gift card. However the gas we used and the vacation day I wasted was more than a hundred dollars. read more

I am out of towner, needed some warranty work done, my travel camper is my investment, I do volunteer work as a military veteran, so 100% of my time I live in my 30ft fancy camper, only reason I gave them a 1 star, due to customer service. no harm taken to Camping World; they did a good job on the warranty work, it's their driver one of them, tossing my camper around like it was a road race around the parking lot, I confronted him, told him to take it easy, he disrespected me behind my back, anyway that is dangerous, plus all my personal property was toss around inside, then I ask them to make sure they have my camper plugged in, yes because I had food inside my camper, all my personal belongings where inside, so, both of us did a video of the outside and inside, peace of mind, nothing was taken, and my food was ok, yes, I had trust in their shop workers, I was in a dilemma, so Kami, the warranty person, she a nice lady, yet, she didn't make sure it was plugged in, I had to come back hour later forgot something inside my camper, there again I had to ask the shop workers please keep it plugged in. They promise the work we be done the next day, and they kept their word. Keystone manufacturer, well, they also guaranteed Camping World will have my camper done on time, since they paid for my hotel room. What shock me, when i returned the next day to pick it up, there was a sign at the counter saying NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY OR FOOD, wow that was a kick in the face to me, since I didn't see a sign the first time or the day i brought it in for the work to be schedule. What i also felt, since i didn't buy my travel camper from them, the Company treated me as a second class buyer. read more

If you notice all the negative reviews for this camping world are the result of the RV sales are terrible. Nationwide camping world sales event on a camper priced at $16,995. Others sell it for the advertised price but not this scamming camping world. This dealership gets you in the door and tries to upsell you to a pricier camper. When you don't fall for that ploy they tell you there is an additional $1700 in fees bringing price to about $18,700. Amazingly some poor unaware people must fall for this, they want to charge you a paperwork fee (that's part of their cost, should not be passed on to me) charge you a fee for the technician to review camper with you (they expect the customer to pay the employee to explain the product they sold you) charge you for the guy who received it in and had to check it over (again that's part of camping world cost not mine) and a transportation fee (which is already factored into the selling price that is set by camping world). Incredibly 2 other camping worlds would sell it for the $16,995. I bought it from another camping world for the actual sales price and they even included a bag of starter stuff for free. If you buy a camper at Strafford camping world you paid too much. If you want to get taken advantage of shop at Strafford / Springfield camping world they are waiting for the next sucker. It's sad to see a business taking such advantage of people. read more

If the service and parts guys were as "up in your business" as the sales people, I would have had a better experience, but here at Camping World, you're out of luck if you need help finding a part. Our air conditioner has been out of order and with the temperature warming up, we were hoping to get it fixed. We were short on time and the gentleman helping a couple said he would help us shortly. We waited around and decided to step aside to browse. When we turned around, another gentleman was helping someone else and the other was nowhere to be found. We waited and the other employee, who said he would help us, came back up to the desk, but just stood around. We planned on buying some other items as well, but because of the time and lack of service, we dropped the items and left. I'd rather order parts online than to have someone clearly ignore me. I'm not sure if it was because we are early to mid 20s, but the lack of service was ridiculous. If you're a young RV'er, your best bet is to get familiar with your camper and order your own parts. read more
