First time here at Bass Pro Shop. I was told this location was the first ever BPS. Plenty of parking, did not have to fight for parking since we arrived later in the evening. Friendly service and location was huge. Some area were three stories. Wide selection of almost everything you can think of from fishing, hunting, camping and much much more. There are some small restaurants and cafes inside in case you wanted to grab bite to eat. They have a fudge bar area and coffee shop (Black Rifle). They have an aquarium inside BPS, but by the time we arrived they were closed. Tickets were $46 per person. If you are in the area, I would stop by and check out the place. We love visiting Bass Pro especially in December. All the lights inside and out are so beautiful and magical. The skating rink looks like so much fun, I'm a horrible skater so I usually just cheer from the sidelines haha. I really love that they are pet friendly; we love our Santa pictures. Unfortunately, you need to pay to explore the aquarium, which I personally don't think is worth it considering that the place might be too small for it. Went to Bass Pro (Springfield) yesterday to purchase a 22 rifle. Found what we wanted and the card on the gun said it also came with a 25 magazine, and the clerk said the same thing. After we selected the additional rail and flashlight, we completed the paperwork. We looked at everything we the gun, and my husband asked where the additional 25 mag. was. The manager said, "Oh, that's a typo on the card attached to the gun." My husband, "Well, that's your fault. Are you going to go ahead and honor your ad." Clerk, "No." My husband picked up his credit card and said, "Then we won't be buying the gun." We walked away. We were willing to pay Bass Pro's premium price on this gun, because we have bought other guns here and often shop here for other things. We like to support local businesses. But this situation comes down to principle. This clerks and manager were not willing to honor the store's advertisement. They would rather lose an $800 sale for the cost of a 25 mag. cartridge. Unbelievable. We will NEVER shop at Bass Pro again!! read more

The outside of this store was very decorative and inviting. Unfortunately the store was closing and I did not have time to actually walk around. It appeared big and spacious and plenty of inventory to explore. Well lit up with Christmas lights and Santa/sled decorations. Plenty of photo opportunities for the customers. The granddaddy of bass pro shops, this is definitely a must-see stop when driving through Springfield. The exhibits are endless, shelves are full, and food options are great. We didn't even make it to the aquarium because my son loved the fish exhibits so much! Even has its own auditorium for a presentation ( we did not watch) and a NASCAR museum. Fishing rods, lures, boats and trailers is where it started. This place is HUGE. And seems to grow,. Clothing, tires, guns and ammo, toys, food, gift items. The ambiance and outdoor themed decor almost make you forget that you are there to shop. It's a little overwhelming. This is a "not miss" sight in Springfield. You have to see it to believe it. Attached to Wonders of Wildlife, definitely worth the price of admission. Staff is friendly but we had a hard time finding the check out and exit. And because of my feelings about how I was treated at the store, I've thrown away all my bass pro hats T-shirts and closed my credit card account. Although I still will shop at Bass Pro in other areas in states, just unfortunately not the one in Rogers Arkansas. read more

My father in law calls this place the Mother Ship. He isn't lying cause beam me up Scotty, this place is out of the world! You can find anything here. If you are coming in just to ogle at the sheer enormity of the place or just coming in for something specific plan on being here for more then an hour because you will get lost in the awesomeness of the place. The gun museum on the second level gives something for shooters or history buffs to wander through for hours. Not a fan? No worries, they have a huge aquarium, places to eat, clothing department. Pretty much just about anything you could want. I mean the place is truly spectacular! They don't do free shipping from the store, but will do it if you order some things online so keep that in mind, but it's still worth wandering through just to touch and feel everything. read more

Greatest bass pro shop of all time!!! Holy cow the entire store is themed and it is huge. Throughout the store when you look up you see fish, alligators, the bottom of boats, and even a fisherman's feet dangling in the water. It is as if you are on the bottom of the lake and looking up as you go around the store. We bought admission to the aquarium and it took about 4 hours to see it all. After the aquarium you go through a wildlife photography part then a part that has animals from all over the world, hall of horns, penguin exhibit and it all teaches conservation and history along the way. When you leave one you have to find the entrance of the other and get scanned in. The entrance is usually right where you exited the other one. We did not know this and had to find out by asking, but all the attractions are included in the aquarium pass. It is well worth the money and the short drive from Branson. I highly recommend coming and seeing this. It is immersive and extravagant, loved it! read more

The men at the shooting range are very helpful. I have taken my 380 pistol I bought in Arkansas before moving to Lebanon, Mo here, as well as sighting in my 3030 I have had for years. Outstanding in every way. The selection is seemingly endless. There is something here for everyone. They make shopping a Disneyland experience. Prices are very reasonable. If you can't find it here, chances are you don't need it. Employees are friendly and helpful. There are so many reasons to love this place even if you're not an outdoors person. There is an NRA museum in the store with a ton of priceless firearms from the 1700's up to current times. The history is amazing and the docents are incredibly knowledgeable. The Archery History Gallery is amazing. Pools, waterfalls and ponds are at every turn, inhabited by waterfowl, fish and yes even alligators!! This is the original Bass Pro shop. It is enormous. And beautiful. There are museum displays about Johnny Morris (the founder) interwoven throughout. The coffee shop serves coffee from Black Rifle, in Texas. Be forewarned - it is super strong. 4 stars because the animal and tree displays are laden with a visible layer of dust, but that could be easily remedied. Otherwise, it is stupendous! read more

We were driving through Springfield, so while in town we made a point of visiting this Bass Pro mecca. Boy, it's just enormous. We walked around to see the fish & turtles, stream through the store, race car museum, and more. It was so neat!! This place is massive! I've only been to the one in Mesa, Az and there is no comparison. So many things to see here and not enough time. Restaurants,,aquarium, museum, nascar. This is a must visit destination in the area even if you are not an outdoor sports enthusiast! This place has more items/stuff/gizmos/fish/creatures to look at even if you are not shopping! The kids will love you more if you bring them. Without doubt, this is the ultimate of sporting good stores. I think I could spend 3 days "just looking" and still not see all. There is a lot of parking, but this place fills up quickly on the weekend. There are some paid attractions that help fill up the lot (another review). There are places to grab a bite and lots of Bass Pro Shop snacks and goodies to take home. You'll need them to replace the calories you burn walking this maze of retail genius. The sales associates are everywhere and very eager to help. Most know their stuff and I really challenged the boat experts who taught me a lot! One of the biggest bass pro shop locations I've been in. Plan to be here for a while, even if just walking around. Lots of cool nature nooks, fish, and animals to see. Most areas are outfitted to make it feel like you're a part of the nature. Personally don't love the bathroom situation. While overall plentiful, the biggest ladies room that has many stalls is only by the front main entrance and almost every other is a single stall situation. The main entrance bathrooms are behind the sales section for the wilderness club at Big Cedar, so as you go by they try to sell to you. Voted Best Indoor zoo and aquarium in the United States. 500,000 square feet of outdoor, wildlife beauty that is second to none. We came for a day but easily could have stayed for three. If you love guns, America and history just plan on moving here so you can enjoy this landmark year around. Mr Morris is a true conservationist, revitalizing and conserving Missouri and our amazing country. My godfather would have easily spent an entire week in the fishing museum alone. The Nascar museum is epic, the original cars are there as well as personal notes between the owner and the drivers. Mr Morris is the epitome of the American dream, pull your boot straps up and make 'er happen. This will be a must see for ALL family that comes to visit. When I was in the area I stopped in here to see what all the hype was about. All I can say is HUGE!!! I've never seen so much hunting and fishing gear in my life. This place has it all plus the restaurant here is awesome as well. It's called Hemingway's which had great food and a big fish tank inside. If your looking for a new boat they have anything you could think of from fishing boats to pontoon boats. Bought one of there ( blue green vacations) Spoke to Whitney on 5th call where I was finally able to speak to somebody who is in Orlando who wasn't very friendly and made it even a worse experience than it already was I was hesitant to even buy this when I was in Springfield a month ago and I could not get any were booking a room I was trying to upgrade the website told me nothing and then when I called I got nowhere except for being on hold for 30 minutes on one of the calls! We were trying to go back to Branson in October and it's just a big hassle to do anything with bass pro so I will just stay in a hotel like I've always done! I do love the bass pro store in Springfield. That place is awesome but as far as their Bluegreen vacations go, that is a terrible experience at least for me too much stress to book a room! They not even tell me where I'm staying for all I know it could be some rat hole! So I got a refund and then to make matters worse. This Whitney lady told me if I would've waited a few more days I would not have got a refund at all because it was over 30 days that in itself made me even more mad.! to me that's just a poor way to treat people read more

I went to return Sig rangefinder that I had used twice. I still have the box, receipt and paperwork. I bought it after deer season so I only used it once and it was during a cloudy winter day, and they worked fine. I went yesterday to shoot a gun that I just put a new scope on. This was the second time I used it. The displayed could not be seen in the sun. You had to point the display to the ground to see it. I showed the customer service return desk multiple reviews of the same issue. I did research to see I could change a setting to fix it. Sadly this is a common issue with the sig canyons. This is the first time bass pro didn't care about customer satisfaction. I informed them that I would take store credit and buy the next step up from the model I had purchased. Best all around sports shop in the history of the world!!! You can find every type of sporting item(s) you would want in a heartbeat here. I have watched BPS grow from a large sports shop to an entire complex owning a near city block! It has a great restaurant inside (Hemingway's) and a decor throughout that really gives an outdoor feeling. The only negative is that it can be a little pricey but still, what you get is quality good that will last for years. BPS is a genuine tourist attraction and certainly a place you want to visit if you come to Springfield! Recommend: VERY HIGH read more

Johnny Morris is a legend! This was my first visit to Springfield's Bass Pro and it was much better than I had assumed it was going to be. Clean, designed with every detail in mind, crowded in more narrow areas, but otherwise I enjoyed my time there. The parking lot was jam packed on a Sunday, but as mentioned above, it was roomy enough except in more narrow areas. We did not have time to visit the Wonders of Wildlife, but it was highly recommended to us by family & friends. They also had a whole area of free kid-friendly activities going on. read more

This Bass Pro is a must-see if you're visiting Springfield or live in the area. Kids love it, Adults love it and I love it. You don't have to be a country bumpkin to be awed by the sites of the great hall. It looks like a giant cabin that's been filled to the max with goodies for everyone. We ended up there the other day cause we had a few hours to blow the other day and my nephew (8 yrs old) suggested we go and walk around Bass Pro... what's this? Cheap entertainment?! This is the biggest and most grand Bass Pro, the only other one that comes close is the Vegas store. It offers hunting, camping, fishing, boating, hiking, water sports, home decor, clothing... I think you get the point. It is a mega-store that has everything a country girl... err, or country boy, or tourist, would need. They have quality items that are higher priced than you'll find at your average chain store (Wal-mart) but they also have great deals. The best in the country. This is the Grandaddy of all the stores for Bass Pro Shop. This was the largest of the country until the Memphis store is open. It is huge, large, gigantic and they are building the wing of conservation section. This place is 500,000 square feet according to it record and get bigger than that soon when the wing finish. This is outdoorsman Disney. The store have huge tank of aquarium. A lot of fresh water fish. Giant Gar is awesome. Animal display is almost look real every where with the merchandise. Sometime I look up the ceiling, they have duck bottom swimming under the water level display. This is a place for tourist. They also have museum of record fish in the competition sample trophies. The have the Archery Hall of Fame with the notable athlete in the Olympic. The museum display the bow evolve to current technology. It also show many type of arrow head. It also has NRA National Arm Museum. It has good collection of Winchester riffle. The museum display the old west riffle with round bullet and gun powder loading bag. Wow so much to look at. You could literally spend all day in this place and not see everything. The smell of roasted nuts and cinnamon floats through the air and makes you hungry. They sell fudge and snacks all of the place. There is 2 restaurants in the place as well as a wildlife exhibit and an aquarium. Tons of things to see. Beat part is they are pet friendly..
