My family and I went to camping world in hopes of purchasing a new RV however, the manager was very rude. We're a humble Hispanic family and when we made offers, he insulted us by questioning if we could even afford it. He was very irritated at all our suggestions instead of calmly telling us that the offers weren't possible. I'm very shocked at the service provided by this company and I hope no one has to ever experience the treatment we did. The only good thing about this place was a young salesman named David. Recently bought a 2020 Winnebago Navion here. They have decent selection here hence the 1 star. Other than that , it's the seediest RV dealer I ever been to. This RV dealer is the worst!!! There were a few issues with the RV when we picked up, dent in the fridge, Murphy bed wood panels keeps popping out and I can see the many holes of nail guns destroying the panels that they tried to fix, tear in the passenger armed chair, missing 2nd key, stains all over inside the RV and etc. Sales person told us to take like that and if we find anymore issues, add to the list and they will fix everything then. Brought the RV home and noticed a beeping noise that wouldn't stop. Called the sales guy and he doesn't know what it was. Brought it back the next day, their technician guy was of no use after 40 mins diagnosing what's wrong. Warning, do bring your RV here for service, they do not know what they are doing and they do not take care of your RV. The technician BROUGHT in a disgusting step ladder, with cobweb, dirts and dead roaches and made a mess in our RV. Needless to say, he couldn't fixed the beeping noise. We left and told them to order the damaged items and we will install them cause I have no confidence in their repair work. I was afraid they will damage the RV more. Technician and sales guy said ok. We called numerous times to follow up and check the status for 3 weeks, kept getting their voicemails and no one has yet to return our calls. Be warned, they will say anything to get the sales and then you are on your own!!!! I was in a minor accident with my Motor Home back in January of last year. It was take to this Camping World and was assured that if would be ready in 3 months. I started calling then and was told things were being done but it turned out they just fabricated what they told me. It was then blamed on the manager which I explained that was not my problem because I didn't hire him. So after a very long time of 4 more months it was finally ready. It started with a leak that we asked about at the pre-inspection upon delivery (their delivery inspection is a joke by the way). They said it wasn't anything. Fast forward and our wall is rotted. It took camping world around 6 months to fix the issue, not to mention we called them everyday for a month and no call back or answer, until we just showed up. We had no CHOICE, so we traded that in for a 2019 5th wheel ( brand new). We had to take it in multiple times for the SAME ISSUE. Also, they think using a hammer to fix a brand new unit is correct, when they should of ordered new parts. People, please do your research about all camping worlds, YouTube, social media, etc.. to see how they do business. People who have been doing the RV life for a long time DO NOT RECOMMEND buying from camping world. Save yourselves a huge headache. Went in for a trailer to take the family on long trips... was given a certain price and when we sat down for the financing we're slapped with what would be almost $5k extra for things that you would think the dealership already did like making sure the camper was in working condition... we left a $500 deposit to hold the camper because it was a Saturday and they were about to close... We made further researched and found out the extra $5k was pure profit for them and decided to go with a better deal at another dealership, the sales people then called trying to guilt trip us from "all the hard work" they did, which is their job anyway! On top of that they dropped the sales price $4k which left us wondering why they wouldn't do that in the first place!? Needless to say we took our money and just went to Fun Town RV where we weren't going to be charged for something like showing us how to work the trailer... I gave 2 stars because the people who we talked to were respectable... But if you don't want to spend thousands for someone showing you how to use your trailer or a battery(something that should come standard with your purchase) do your research and go to another dealership... read more

My husband is 82 and I am 67, and we had planned on enjoying this summer and fall while seeing the country. Who knows when we can go? HORRIBLE - these people look you in the eye and lie, lie, lie. We bought a brand new Jayco Melbourne 24K on May 11, 2017. We are from Colorado, and we flew in to pick it up and drive it home. First of all, I believe either they had rented it out, used It as a demo, or the driver who brought it from the manufacturer lived in it. I believe this because of the condition of the motorhome, the fact that the pouch holding all the manuals was destroyed, and in that pouch was a paper that said, "Restart Warranty." The warranty is only started at the first sale, or if it is used as a demo. It was dirty, there was waste in both the gray water tank and the black water tank both. Three different times they promised to clean the floor, which was filthy and damaged. The back camera was broken - which they promised to order and overnight to the Camping World in Colorado. They haven't. The accordion door was damaged, the stabilizing jack wasn't working, the floor was damaged in the bathroom - the linoleum had lifted. They were so nice to our faces, and said they had cleaned the floor - they never did. They said they had fixed the stabilizer jack - they did NOT. They said they fixed the accordion door - it is still damaged. They did staple down the floor in the bath. We still don't even know if the camera was ordered. Matt Clark in service has promised to give me the tracking number or ETA several times, but I still don't have it. I'm going to contact Camping World Headquarters, Jayco - the manufacturer, and I'm going to ask Camping World in Golden to get the camera for us. read more

I have a 2020 rv that I bought 3 months ago; fridge n freezer are coated with thick layer of ice, leaks and had warped the wood underneath, toilet is leaking waste on floor, leak on roof that has saturated floor and carpet and warped wood carpet around floor is unraveling. Not a happy camper. I purchased an ADCO RV COVER for $285.00 for my travel trailer and I also purchased the extended warranty. It fit great and looked awesome! To bad it was total crap! It lasted less than 2 yrs. Almost immediately it started getting holes, small rips and tears. I pulled on a piece of the velcro to take off the cover for a trip and it tore right off in my hand. The whole thing literally disintegrated. I went out to check on my trailer one day and the entire cover was laying on the ground encircling my trailer. I called Camping World. They totally blew me off and told me to call the warranty co. I did and they said, "Is the unit outside?" I said yes. They said then the warranty is invalid. WHAT? Who buys a cover for an RV and keeps it inside? REALLY? I would never have paid the extra cost for a warranty if someone had consulted with me like they should have when THEY OFFERED IT TO ME!!! The guy who sold it to me said this, "It covers for any reason whatsoever." The material just fell apart. It was a total waste of money and WHY wasn't the salesman trained better to know and to consult with me about how it wasn't covering wear/tear if I kept the unit outdoors. O and get this. THEY DON'T SELL ADCO COVERS ANYMORE. They now have a different brand. Hhhmmm. Wonder why.......... I'm still so angry... I don't know anyone who just throws $285.00 out the window which is exactly what I feel happened. This place kept our Class C Jayco for over a to work on our AC unit. We were told one story after another, and after a month we were called at 4 in the afternoon that it was ready. After we had called all that day and the day before. We got there on Saturday and it was pulled out front with ac on it was cooling. We headed out the next week and made it to Tulsa Oklahoma and the AC Quit working AGAIN. These Katy Camping World Service Department People can not be trusted. and they will never get my business again. I would never recommend to ANYONE!!!!!!!! read more

My husband and I just bought a Class A Thor Freedom Traveler from Camping World in Katy and we couldn't be happier! Gary Parker was our sales person and he was extremely patient with us and knowledgeable about the motorhome. We walked in Saturday morning right after opening and we really lucked out on Gary being the first sales person we ran into. We also had 2 small boys in tow who he didn't ignore and was happy to talk to! Gary made us feel comfortable and helped us work on getting the motorhome into our price range. Camping World in Katy had a nice Kid Camp corner where out boys could play while we worked with Gary and finance. They also had plenty of free water, popcorn, chips and hotdogs the boys could enjoy! We have had our motorhome for a week and plan on taking our first trip this weekend! (wish us luck) If you need a sales person, contact Gary Parker. There is one unfortunate note that I would mention for those on a budget. We agreed on a sales price, % and monthly payment with finance and were ready to sign when in the last minute they brought up a camping world service package that they really pushed for us to get. It is understandable and I do believe the service package may have been helpful but to come last minute with something your trying to up-sale us with was a little irksome. The price ranged from $50 to $90 dollars more a month depending on the service package you pick and it would be worked into the monthly payment. The service package would only last 5 years (1 of which wouldn't even be used due to the manufacture warranty) but you would be paying for it the entire loan cycle. My husband and I made an agreement on the package but I really just wish they would have told you this before you agree on a number than after. Springing it on you when you are signing is not cool. However, I wouldn't let this deter you from shopping at Camping World. I would still recommend them to everyone but I would let everyone know about the service packages that need to be worked into your payment if you want it. In my opinion, they are scoundrels that lie to get your money. They said "the two year old camper looked like it had never been used". I asked a lot of questions before our 3 hour one way drive to Camping World in Katy. We get there only to find camper was worn out. The previous owner must have used it as a beach residence. Rust that was spot painted over in a poor quality. Broken parts and stuff hanging down under the unit. Gouges in the cabinets and walls, dirt and sand in every crack and crevice. A complete, blatant mis-representation to get me to drive there and use my Saturday off for nothing. Stayed there for five minutes but drove for six hours that day. read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I gave them 1 star because I could not give them a zero. My motor home was there (60-70 miles from home) for a month waiting for a product recall repair that involved installing a fuse and a stick on label. I called at least 10 times to get a status update. Only one call was returned, even though their voicemail greeting says that all messages left before 4 PM would be returned the same day. When I finally got to talk to a human, she told me she would call me back the next day with the status. She never called. Don't take your RV there for service. read more

I gave it one star because there was no option to put negative star amount. The absolute worst customer service I've ever received in my 57 years. No one will call you back about anything. Purchased brand new RV in 2018. Within 3 months the windows were leaking water. Come to find out they don't caulk the windows and know full well that you will have water damage but obviously they don't care and are not responsible for said damage. We then decide to put the RV for sale on consignment with them. We called numerous times and once again never received a call back. When the consignment period expired we pick it up and find one of the interior doors has been ripped out and a mattress was missing. When it was brought to the sales managers attention he said that they were not responsible for anything that happened on the lot. Sales managers name is Ray Diab. Delete Camping World and Starcraft from your if you're thinking of buying a travel trailer. We bought a 2019 Starcraft from Camping World in September 2018 spent over $28k. As of today, the water heater broke, the furnace broke, the toilet foot valve leaks, the shower leaks, the water pump reversed and flooded the trailer, the floor is buckled and loose (cracks and pops as you walk around in the trailer). I went personally back to Camping World for help and all they would say is bring it in and leave it for assessment. I didn't think I was buying a project. I expected a quality product and expected concern on the part of CW. We are using this for a temporary residence and really can't unload the contents into storage indefinitely. There are certified mobile repair services they could engage - but of course they would have to be concerned to do that. Neither Camping World or Starcraft, ever again. read more

If you're considering working for this place... there are many other shops that I'm sure would be a better choice. Let's start with their turn over rate... every 3 to six months they have a handful of new techs. One reason for this is they offer NO training, their attitude is "figure it out". Second is the favoritism shown to the misfits in the back that provenly do the worst work, just ask the 3 senior techs they have there that have to fix what those guys did wrong. Next is the management, don't expect them to hold anyone to the rules and regulations of OSHA. You have an empty bay, get ready to wait an hour or more for work, while the guys in the back have tons. Back flagging of hours is to the point that you'll be paying them to work there. Oh they'll say they will pay you, put hours on your logs...only to back flag you once the work is done. They go through shop managers at least once a year. So if you bring your Rv there to get it worked on, don't expect familiar faces. Good luck using the PTO you've accumulated, even if you request of weeks in advance, they'll deny it if it inconveniences them. Don't expect to be paid out the PTO either if you leave, they'll take backflag time out of it firsthand and if you don't give your 2 week notice, they keep it all. Mind you no warning or employee handbook was given out about this information. Noone is held responsible, rules are bent and money is hard to make there. They'll change you from hourly to flat rate without telling you, so NEVER do any "free work". They will expect you to do work even if warranty won't pay you, so they want you to fix it for free. Those 3 senior techs I mentioned barely make their 40hrs... don't expect to go in there and make 40+, I assure you you will not. I suggest talking to their techs before you consider employment with them or believe ANY of the smoke blown up your ass from management, you'll get a more honest answer. After all this was my experience working there and what I saw and went through. The high turnover rate should be proof enough that that shop is a "get by till something better comes up" place to work. And if anyone wants my proof, I have emails, recorded conversations and testimonials from other coworkers to verify. Good luck in your job hunting read more

We bought a new 21 5th wheel the sales experience and sales man Brenton was pleasurable to deal with, also knowledgeable. Everyone in the sales process made things easy. That was the good part after the sale was over it was off to the service department. We did our walk through and pointed out things that needed fixed before we pulled the Rv off. This was about 9:30 am once we finished our paperwork we started moving our belongings from our trade to the new Rv. We noticed no one had done anything no even as much as washed it for us. We had about four hours before our transporter would get there. The last 30 mins they wanted to start working on things. The young guy Sterling tried he's best but just didn't have the time. We got the Rv home about 4:30pm and spent the night fixing things the service department should have don't days before we even got there. We even asked the sales team if the they were going to start prepping the Rv days before we were scheduled to pick ours up. That was a lie! During the financial part of the deal they claimed we were getting some kind of paint protection applied to the outside of the rv. When we asked when they were going to do this ( mind you we were in the middle of transferring our belongings) we were told " their doing it now ? So what the hell did we pay for ? They couldn't even wash the damn thing even after they said they would. It would seem as though they get your money and then screw your after that. I'm almost sorry we made the deal. read more

My wife and I drove 3 and 1/2 hours from Louisiana to look at new class A and class C motorhomes, only to be told if we didnt have a mask we couldent go outside and look at them. When questioned the receptionist said she could sell us a mask. I'm here to possibly give your establishment 50, 100, or even 200 thousand dollars but you would rather turn someone away because they didnt have a mask, and we didnt want to also purchase a mask from her, to walk around OUTSIDE. WTH. We will NEVER DO BUISNESS WITH YOU AGAIN. No other dealers had any problem with us looking at the vehicles without a mask. My wife and I needed to purchase an RV fast as our company was relocating us from Houston to West Texas. We were unsure exactly what we needed as this was our first RV purchase but Brady Ray, our sales person made the entire process very smooth. He showed us numerous RVs he thought would fit our needs and did a wonderful job of explaining the features. Once we purchased our RV we had to leave town and store the RV at Camping World for about a week. Before the professional transport company showed up to retrieve our RV, Brady made sure all components inside were strapped down and present. Catherine in parts was also a huge help to us. She walked us through items needed for our RV and when we decided to add some vent covers to the top of our RV, not only did she find us the best ones for our model of RV, but she also made sure they were installed before the transport company picked up our RV. I also wanted to mention a friendly guy named Brad gave us our orientation and was very helpful to us as first time RV owners. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful at Camping World in Katy and we will definitely use them again in the future if we decided to purchase another RV. read more

My mother purchased an RV while visiting me in Houston back in December from this Camping World. They certainly have been taking her payments every month but it is now the end of March and Camping World of Houston has failed to perform the Licensing and registration to date! My mother has called multiple times over the past several months, and is always assured that the matter will be taken care of. She has been paying on this RV for 4 months and it is currently sitting in the driveway with expired temporary tags unusable. I am very disappointed with my experience here. My RV started having issues with the air conditioning, refrigerator, and electricity and they told me that I would have to pay 700 dollars to have it fixed. Meanwhile, another place nearby told me that it would only cost 200 dollars, so I took my business to the other place instead. It's just a shame that you go into this place expecting them to be honest and helpful and they just rip you off. I don't know much about RV's so the fact that they took advantage of my partial ignorance in order to make a few extra hundred bucks makes me very upset. We had an appointment for 10:30. We showed up at 10:00. They asked that we drop our tow vehicle and pull to the service entrance at the start of the 7k electric fence. This was barely manageable with a 40ft motor home considering more than 90 employees cars staged and parsed in the lot entry. Once at the entry they asked we lock and leave. We stated no could do. We are full time and have no where to go. Olga, the service manager asked that we sign all the paper work for our awning replacement which was paid for along with estimated time to install. Paper work included a release of liability for Camping World stating the we not responsible for theft, vandalism, or any damage to our unit for any reason. I did not wish to sign it. Olga stated it was "standard" and "with in reason". I asked what if they scraped or dented the unit. Not to worry. Your insurance will cover it. I asked who would pay my $1000.00 and increased premiums No comment. Camping. World has an over amount of staff at present. The problem is except for one man. No body gives a flip about the customer. Left us alone, after installing a new brake control system on our truck, without hooking up our RV to our truck because we chose to use our existing hitch rather than buy one from them. They did not advise us before we drove off that we had to do a brake adjustment before the trailer brakes would work. We drove 70 miles home without trailer brakes, only truck brakes. After reading the manual, my husband learned how to adjust the brakes and did it himself. This was only one of several disappointments we experienced buying and trying but failing to get flaws fixed on our new travel trailer. Will not buy from them again. Carol & Roger read more

Vacation canceled! I have an older coachman motor home and took it to them to have them look into a couple of problems.. Mainly because the ATS would switch off after about 10 min on the generator, and to look at the rear AC since it sounded like a boulder rolling down a hill. Long story short they had the thing for three weeks and did not even look at it until I showed up to pick it up. My family and I were to leave the next day, which didn't happen. They didn't fix the issue I had initially wanted them to fix!! I was later informed that it was the generator.. Don't go here to get your RV serviced!!! No one knows what's going, you can never get a hold of them, and they don't communicate!! I am still not sure it was even the ATS needed to be relaxed! We went into the dealer blind, no background on the store or market. We were looking to buy to live in while our house is being built. They had a used one they said they just received. It took a while before we got to it, an hour or so. When we saw it, it was cool, the refrigerator was cold and the water worked. When going through the procurement process, they told us we could not get a warranty on it, but they would do a 100 point check and assure all was working before it left the lot. I asked for a list of the 100 points. I was told it really wasn't 100 points, it was just 'alot'. The assured me that all would be OK when we drove it off the lot. We did not plan to take possession for a month and they agreed to store it. They asked me to sign the title transfer which showed the RV to have a ridiculously low mileage, like 1500 miles. Since I had looked at the odometer, I knew it had 57,000 miles. I told them I would not perjure myself by signing the document; they said I really didn't need to sign it any way. I have not received license plates yet. A month later when we picked it up, we found the emergency release light and warning buzzer would not turn off while driving in the parking lot. They said there was nothing they could do about it. I drove it home with the cab AC running. When home, we plugged it in and the house AC would not cool, the water would not run and the refrigerator would not cool. We called them and they said they would get back with us, we called again and again and they never had the right person available to help us. We hired a RV mechanic. He found the AC was covered with mud dauber nests and the compressor would not run. It seemed like when we looked it over, it was the cab AC that had cooled it down. The refrigerator had been miss-wired and blew a fuse and a thermistor. The water valves were not aligned to deliver water. So from the time we looked at it and when we received it, things had not worked or no longer worked due to causes other than wearing out. No we are out even more money for repairs, and have to stay in a hotel until our RV/home is fixed. Do not buy from this company!!! read more

I have a hard time spending even 2-minutes writing a review because I'm trying to wipe this place from my memory. Maybe that's a little dramatic, but this is honestly the worst retail experience I have ever had. In the words of Master Shifu "There is now a level zero," They were made me feel like I was bothering them by simply asking questions and although there were lots of employees mulling around - none of them were even a little bit interested in helping customers. It was like they were doing me a favor. I will NEVER go back there for anything. Disclaimer: I was shopping for accessories and such, not campers. Arrived this morning @ 10:15 for oil change on my rv, at 3:00 pm, I asked what was taking so long, did not have filters in stock, filters enroute from auto parts, it's now 4:12, filters still not enroute, a two hour job is now an all day job if that. I am very disappointed with this service, no one kept me informed, I had to ask what the hold up was.
