The level of disrespect and unprofessionalism I experienced was unacceptable, especially coming from someone who claims to be in a management position. I called the store seeking assistance with a specific item. John placed me on hold three separate times for approximately 10 minutes each, and ultimately hung up on me. When I called back for the fourth time, I explained that he could have at least communicated with me instead of repeatedly leaving me on hold and hanging up. Rather than addressing my concern professionally, John continuously laughed at me and responded sarcastically, saying, "Wassup, what do you need before I hang up again?" I explained what I needed, and John told me that the item was not in stock anywhere. However, I decided to visit the AutoZone location on Morton in person, and they had the item in stock. This was extremely frustrating because I had wasted my time dealing with someone who was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, and who provided information that turned out to be incorrect. What made this experience even worse was John's attitude when he identified himself as the manager. His behavior and the way he handled my complaint gave me the impression that he believed my concerns and satisfaction did not matter, and that customer service was not important to him. As a manager, he should be setting an example for other employees, not laughing at customers, threatening to hang up on them, and making them feel as though their concerns are irrelevant. Being a manager does not excuse disrespectful behavior. Customers deserve basic courtesy, honesty, and assistance, regardless of how busy a store may be. If this is how a manager treats customers, I have serious concerns about the standard of customer service being upheld at that location. I am requesting that AutoZone corporate management investigate this incident and address John's conduct appropriately. I would also appreciate a response explaining how this matter will be handled. No customer should have to experience this level of disrespect simply for calling a store to ask about a product. I hope AutoZone takes this complaint seriously and recognizes that customer satisfaction and professional conduct should matter at every level of the company, especially among management.
