What a hidden gem! I came here for a free drop-in guided mindfulness meditation on a Wednesday…read moreevening. This center offers a variety of meditation sessions, talks from speakers, and retreats. Drop-in guided meditation is "free" but they recommend a $10 donation which is understandable. Check out their website for a schedule and more info. Although the center looks a little outdated and rundown from the outside, I felt the ambiance inside was warm, welcoming and peaceful. When you arrive, there is typically a friendly host who invites you in and can show you around. There were Buddhist-related images and idols on and around the walls and white Christmas lights strung from the ceilings. We had the option to sit on floor pillows with a small tray table or on regular chairs. Water, tea, and snacks (cookies mostly) were provided. There was a shelf near the entrance displaying flyers for various upcoming events. There was also a table filled with books and items (i.e. specially embroidered hats) available for purchase. They also had a bookshelf filled with books on things like mindfulness and spirituality which you can borrow and return at your leisure. The whole setup was nice. The lady guiding us was well-versed in Buddhist meditation. Her voice was very calming. Initially, she read an excerpt from a book related to mindfulness. It was thought-provoking and appropriate for the type of meditation she was about to lead us in. Then, she closed the book, instructed us to adjust our posture, close our eyes, and focus on one aspect of our breathing. Anytime our mind wandered, we were to gently reroute it to our breathing. This is all we did for the next 30 minutes. The room was quiet... no talking or music. I was impressed by how peaceful and well-rested I felt afterwards. We got to chat with some of the attendees after and everyone seemed friendly. Overall, it was a great experience.

Just spent a weekend retreat here listening to the amazing venerable Robina, how lucky to get a front row seat. Have been going to drop in meditation here and it has advanced my practice. Recommend recommend recommend! The best part however is the people. The teachers, desk staff and cafe people are warm & caring, plus there's an additional office with avurveda, acupuncture and other treatments by lovely, qualified folks. When I was looking for a yoga studio, a friend said, "there is only one place-Breathe." She was right. The space is welcoming, with gifts and cute jewelry, there are 2 spotless showers if I need, filtered water, all the props. Do not hesitate--check this place out. While every single teacher may not be "yours", these are consistently excellent instructors who share stories, songs chants and even play an instrument once in a while. Candlelight flow, hot yoga, aerial yoga, power, yin, you name it. It took me a minute to commit (I did several punch cards before I took the plunge and joined) and I'm so glad I did. If you're looking for a true yoga community, you've found it. Welcome home

I'd called the studio multiple times to try and let them know that I would be late, but no one picked up the phone. I had done everything I could to do my due diligence but could not plan for the closure. Anyone with empathy would have understood. I was a member at the time, had never asked for an extension before in my history with the studio, and had no way of knowing that a political demonstration would shut down their street to foot and car traffic. When I arrived the woman at the front desk did not even care to ask if I was a member nor check to see if I'd ever requested a late arrival before. She just told me "no". It was really frustrating that she basically shrugged her shoulders and said "its policy" to not let anyone in past 5 minutes when it had been exactly 6. I understand the principle, but if it's someone's first time and they are a paid member (not ClassPass ) then they should be given a one time forgiveness. Despite canceling, I was going to give them benefit of the doubt and not leave a yelp review because they assured me they were genuinely sorry for the experience. That all changed today when I saw that I have been charged not once not twice but THREE times since this incident. Despite signing a form on the spot that day and the manager assuring me, this would not happen. I'd been charged full price of the membership 3x when I had never stepped foot in the studio ever since. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to once again I have to go through the endless loop of trying to get a hold of someone at this business. I would never sign up here because you will never be able to know you are truly canceled.

When I heard that I asked my son about it and found out that he's been dying to try. So we decided to do it together. We each signed up for a membership because you can cancel anytime (but now I don't want to) and it gives you a discounted price for floating. We found a time where they had two pods open and arrived about 15 minutes early. You do have to leave your shoes at the door, so make sure your feet look good. I was a bit embarrassed by my old pedicure but whatever. You can walk in sandals that they provide or barefoot. They also have a little seating area and will bring you some water while you wait if you like Before the float, they gave us a full orientation to how the pods work. First put in your earplugs and then shower with lovely smelling products that they provide. Once you're cleaned off, you can hop in the pod. Each pod is big enough for people to fit comfortably and you can turn a blue light on or off. I floated in darkness, but my son chose to leave the light on. They even have little spray bottles of freshwater inside the pod, just in case any of the salt water hits the eyes. It is a little strange the first time trying to find the right position and such. But after about 10 minutes, I slipped away and before I knew it the hour had passed. I couldn't believe it. I even checked my watch to validate an hour had really past because time just seemed to disappear. We felt so relaxed afterwards and enjoyed a nice dinner out. However, I have scheduled my next one in two weeks for a later time so that I can just go home and go to sleep afterwards. Overall, it was an excellent experience and this place is run very well. I'm quite happy to be a new member.
