The standout feature of Heartwood is its remarkable sense of community. This is not just a yoga studio; it is a gathering place for all individuals. The instructors are wonderful human beings who contribute to the nurturing environment. The diversity among the instructors in terms of personality and teaching style ensures there is something for everyone. This variety allows students to find the classes that best suit their needs. * Brit (the owner) - Committed to creating a community and making space for everyone. Brit is a wonderful instructor. She can adapt her classes to meet the needs of her students - Yes she is running a business, but in my opinion her priority is creating a beautiful experience for every person that walks through the front door (and really every person she can reach within the Ben Lomond/Felton community and beyond) * Lydia - A kind soul who teaches calm classes perfect for yin yoga or someone wanting a relaxing flow and good stretch. * Helena - Focuses on heart-opening and movement, with a touch of strength. I always feel more alert and stronger leaving her classes. * Mel - Excellent for those new to Vinyasa. Her foundation classes are very detailed and she does a great job teaching the basics (to new yoga practitioners as well as experienced practitioners) * Raegan - New to the studio but already finding her style, Raegan brings a lively personality to her gentle flow classes. * Thomas - Also a new addition to the team, though I haven't yet taken his class, I trust Brit's vetting process and am sure he is wonderful. Heartwood Yoga Studio is more than just a place to practice yoga; it is a community that fosters growth, connection, and well-being for everyone who walks through its doors. If you are curious about trying yoga, I would definitely stop into Heartwood Yoga Studio =D

What an incredible place. The new owner, Britt, is so lovely, warm and inviting, and she was the first face I saw when I attended my first class here a month or so ago. I immediately signed up for her new student special and have been going to either vinyasa or yoga sculpt classes twice a week for the last few weeks, loving every second. There is no judgment here, everyone is at different levels of flexibility, and we all have plenty of laughs as we try increasingly challenging poses. It's just about feeling good. I've taken classes with Britt and Helena, and both are amazing instructors. This studio is so open, welcoming, unpretentious af... I love it here. The beautiful light streaming through the windows, all the healthy houseplants from Mountain Feed surrounding the room, it's really a joy to take an hour for myself (as a mom to a young boy) a few times a week to spend caring for my body in here. Highly recommend signing up for a new student special and checking out all the different class options. I am thrilled to have such a sanctuary right here in Ben Lomond.

I've seen Chelsea for both private yoga instruction and massage. I am very new to yoga and her…read moreinstruction was so patient and calming and the guidance was world class. I walked away with my limbs feeling more flexible than they've ever felt--and that was all in one inspiring session. I really can't think of a better person to have by your side. She exudes strength and confidence, so much so, that during the session I felt serene, and inspired by her breadth of yogic wisdom. I've received several massages at all the fancy places here in Santa Cruz. It wasn't until my massage with Chelsea that I was stricken by how much I've been missing out on. She has the ability to soothe by touch in such a healing way--I must've dozed off several times during the hour massage. Most massages come and go so quickly yet with Chelsea time seems to slow down. It wasn't until contemplating in the afterglow that I realized it's her presence, how deeply present she is in the moment with each healing knead. I fell asleep soon after with the warmth one feels after a long meaningful meditation. Her massage is a gift for the presence and good energy she brings and a blessing for the healing energy she radiates.

A few months ago, I started experiencing severe, localized back pain. I visited a doctor who…read morediscovered a lipoma above my right hip, and he told me all I could do was rest and stretch. Well, the pain persisted, and I knew I needed to find someone to help. I found some information online about someone who experienced relief from lipoma-related back pain through massage. I immediately reached out to Chelsea to see if this was something she could help me with, and she did not disappoint! Over the course of a few sessions, Chelsea worked out the tightness around my lipoma until my back pain was completely gone. I noticed a reduction in pain after just the first massage, and it got progressively better with each session. Chelsea also showed me some stretches to do to help relieve the pressure on my back, and she gave me tips about which types of exercise would be safe for me. Chelsea is extremely loving, kind, and professional -- I can't recommend her enough! She'll take good care of you, and her massages are so relaxing that you might end up falling asleep on her table :)
