My puppy, Archie, loves Camp Bow Wow. Every time we pull into the parking lot, he is immediately ready to run inside. When we are inside, the staff are very friendly. Whenever Archie leaves he's always tuckered out, because of his good experience. I would recommend this place to any dog owner looking for a doggy daycare. read more

Update* I spent my honeymoon on the phone with the the vet mostly worried sick about my dog. A test had to be sent to Cornell University because the vet had never seen something like this before. Results just got back with a "respiratory complex" as the diagnosis. It seems the owners have no intention to even reach out and make anything right. I have been dealing with this on my HONEYMOON. What kind of business would allow a customer's wedding week and honeymoon to be ruined due to unprofessionalism and neglect. Boarded my dog during my wedding weekend and failed to read the reviews beforehand. Do not make the mistake I made. When I came to pick up I noticed something was very off about my pup. He was sluggish and had a terrible cough. I thought maybe he was excited to see me and my wife, but at about 2am he started wheezing and reverse inhaling. To make matters worse, all 24-hour vets were at capacity. I partly blame myself for his sickness because I took a 4 star rating at face value without reading reviews. I have taken my dog to a few camp bowwow locations and there seemed to be something off about this one. Unfortunately, this location did not live up to the trusted brand name. As kennel cough and canine flu has been a recurring issue at this location, you'd think they would have improved their cleaning protocols and identified the root cause of the numerous infections. The lack of professionalism and mental anguish I am currently experiencing listening to my dog cough, gag, and dry heave during the early hours of the morning with nothing I can do for at least 6 hours is most unsatisfactory. $480 vet bill to find the cause of my puppy's terrible sickness. Absolutely unacceptable behavior by the guy that works in the front. Dropped my dog here for 2 nights for the first time. She completed the "interview" process and they accepted her to attend their camp. Since Friday night, I checked their camera at least 6 times. Each time, I called to see what room she was in so that I could find her, and they had a different excuse every time. "She didn't eat her breakfast so she's in the room trying to eat now" ?????? "She's in one of the rooms, not sure which one" "they go out in turns, she's going next" and several other excuses. Come Sunday evening, I went to pick up my dog and found her with scratches along her tummy, legs, and tail with some blood on her fur. The guys excuse is that my dog is rough and she had to be in "time out" which is why we could never see her on the cameras -first time they ever mentioned this to me. He then said "she's not fixed so she's not even supposed to be here" Why did you accept her then? Not only this, he had a bad attitude and refused to let my fiancé speak with anyone but him, and claimed the owner was out of town. This person even had the audacity to call the police on us, the customers just looking for some clarity as to why he had so many lies and excuses. After speaking with the kind officers, they were able to let us know that the owner lives close by and would be on their way shortly. When the owner arrived, the wife walked out to speak to us in the most hostile manner and claiming there was nothing on our dog before she even looked. We were quickly able to point out all the blood and scratches. Also, if our dog was the one being aggressive, shouldn't the OTHER dog be the one with the blood and scratches all over them? ZERO customer service, and ZERO opportunity to find common ground. Save your money and your pets from this place. Negative 5 stars EDIT: it's been a little over 24 hours and now my dog is having kennel cough symptoms ‍ this place was a real nightmare to our family. I also emailed and called them so they can let every dog owner who had their dog there in the last week or so know that their dogs were exposed to this infection. Very horrible experience, this place needs to be shut down as soon as possible. From the sound of things this place is filthy and they are clearly not disclosing this information with the dog owners since not one of the 2 people were notified of this happening and being there a couple days apart. read more

I failed by not reading the reviews on this place, my dog got very very sick from staying at this place. i took the time to read the reviews after I picked him up and these dogs all get kennel cough. my dog is horribly Sick I called to talk to the manger and the manger told me that I should be having this conversation with my pets doctor looks like she also failed to read the horrible reviews. I took her advice under consideration and I called my pets doctor, his doctor highly suggested that he needs to go to the emergency room as soon as possible, which thank god he did. I took my dog to the emergency room and he had a fever of 103 he had kennel cough A respiratory infection which they thought would have turned into pneumoniaI if I didn't bring him soon enough he was dehydrated and very very very weak. My dog had symptoms of a cough, sneezing, heavy breathing, A fever, nausea and a runny nose. I agree by getting vaccinations that the dog will still have a slight chance of getting a cold but come on twice my dog got sick by staying here. Over memorial weekend I kept my dog at pet smart bc they were booked they gave my dog back to me brand new and clean and my dog had great energy leaving there. I will never bring my dog back to this nasty place. They also failed to mention to me when I called them to check in on my dog that he wasn't feeling well. I highly suggest reading these reviews before leaving your dog at this horrible Unsanitized place. To the manger who will be reading this I will not let this go and I will get corporates number No matter how many times you failed to give it to me over the phone. A great place to send your dog, I recommend it 100%. It's very easy to make an appointment and drop your dog off. My puppy is always nice a exhausted when he comes home. He loves other dogs and meeting new dogs and people so Camp Bow WOW is great for him. It's really nice to be able to check on him during his stay at camp. Zeke has never really liked car rides, but has gotten way more comfortable with them since they usually lead to Camp. It's just a very nice service that treats your dog wonderfully with loving care. read more

Took my dog there July 7th -14th. She acquired kennel cough after 4 days and spent the remaining days in a crate. Made me pay vet fees and medicine. Horrible experience. My made my dog sick as hell and charged me more money when they should have taken money off the bill. So basically I paid $370 for them to get my dog sick and put her in a crate. From the sound of the previous review they knew they had kennel cough the week before and didn't disclose that to us. No excuses and completely irresponsible. The building is big, clean, secure (my dog is an escape artist) and I can clearly see my dog on the cameras. I like that she is never left alone in group play with out a staff person and CBW doesn't discriminate against bully breeds. I have had great experiences at another CBW and am excited about the Shelby township location. They have great hours and I love the weekend prices. read more

So disappointed with the service this visit. I have been taking my dog there for several years and this is the first time I am highly disappointed. I have called a few times to ask questions and each time I have spoken to Ashley, I apparently cannot get past her. I have asked to speak with the owner, and was told by Ashley that he is out of town. It started when I dropped my dog off and asked to put her in a suite (which costs more) and she wasn't happy and said let me check to see if we have one available. (Which all 3 were). That was Wednesday. Today (Friday) they put my dog into time out because of a dog doing their interview was nervous around her. Since my dog has been going to day care for the last 5 years and has never had an issue with another dog, I cannot believe that she is the problem. When my husband picked her up because I am out of state, the owner is there, I will have to rethink giving them more business. I think there is more behind the story than what they are saying. read more

Our dog ( hound mix, very friendly, loves playing with other dogs) is a regular at the Troy location. He loves it there, and we love the staff there. We've since moved and now Shelby Township is the closest location, plus they had great reviews. Trusting the quality of service would be the same, we took him to the Shelby Township location this past weekend, and their incompetent manager misspells his name when she calls the Troy location to request background information on him leading them to place him in isolation! I mean, his name is CLEARLY on the application. Attention to detail would have prevented this mistake. The dog they find with the incorrect name was aggressive towards other dogs in the past at Troy, so this goofball of a manager decides not to contact us, not to put him through their testing protocol and try to see for herself if he is aggressive, but instead, she isolates him for 1 entire day and didn't let him into group play, which is the single reason we take him to camp bow wow. If my wife hadn't called day 1 into our trip to see how he was doing, they would have kept him there the entire weekend!!!!!! I understand the caution, but we should have been informed. We then immediately cleared this up with the Troy location. The manager at the Troy location apologized, then confirmed that they spoke with the Shelby Township location's manager and confirmed that our dog isn't aggressive. In fact, they have NO record of him misbehaving of any sort! When we call Shelby Township back to see when Teddi will be allowed back into group, thinking this was resolved, the same manager Troy named earlier LIES and says she never spoke to anyone from Troy, and proceeds with keeping Teddi isolated for another half day until they can test him and see if he is aggressive, which is what they should have done the day before!! Once they finally took him around other dogs, they gave us a call and let us know he was good to go. My issue is that we should have been informed IMMEDIATELY that our dog would not be allowed in group play and would be isolated. We never isolate our dog and we aren't paying them to just cage him up! My second issue, besides the fact we were lied to... is WHY didn't they test him the day before? The Troy location was actually surprised they didn't take him through that protocol immediately after they had been misinformed of his aggression. The worst part, we were expecting them to show good favor, maybe apologize for the mistake, something! NOTHING! No attempt to makeup for their clear mistake!! I mean, they could have blamed it on Troy and apologized, but not even that. SO, not like they care, we will not be returning to that location. I suggest you use the Troy location like us. It is worth the drive. The facilities are better as well. Maybe if we had dealt with ANY other manager, we would be returning, but this manager obviously did not care about our business. read more
