The lighting was a little low towards the back of the store. Anyway, the lady that greeted me ask for my ID. She brought the box out and said that I could get the dolly by the entrance. I said that I needed to go to the restroom first and asked if I needed to sign anything. She said to sign the monitor then proceeded to get the dolly for me. She said that she will place the box on the dolly where I checked in with her. This kind of customer service definitely deserves a five star. She went beyond the call of duty and made my life easier.

I love the book section, but I have to tell you I needed to print a few documents up it as many of you know we don't have printers in the household anymore, you show up here you email it to a location you get a code and this thing is done... So easy I will say the staff is going to be one of the friendliest and most helpful staff I run into for a long time. I can't say enough good things. My document was printed I was able to scan and send it back. I think I did it all for less than three dollars. But I want to say this if you need to sit somewhere and work for a few hours, grab the workstation or the project table and just dive right in you get Wi-Fi. You can grab a pen if you need it and do all your work. I swear to God, I've never been able to enjoy such an easy place to complete projects this place even beats the library.!

He was incredibly responsive and helpful during a really stressful situation, and even helped get my prints done before the shop officially opened because I needed them before 8 AM. No other printing company I contacted was available that early on a Saturday, and Jay went out of his way to help me out. The prints came out great and the customer service was honestly amazing. If you're an architecture student or anyone needing quality printing with great customer service, I highly recommend this place.

You really need to have longer conversations about exactly what you want and he was a bit preoccupied with another job when we talked. Just a bit casual in the way he works. First of all he didn't discuss paper quality or weight which most printers I have worked with would bring up during your consultation. Additionally we wanted to hard laminate bookmarks, which he tried to talk us out of. But what he didn't do, when he printed the bookmarks is trim them where the design clearly ended before laminating them (and it was not a hard lamination) so all of the bookmarks had a 1/2 inch at the top without design. The design very clearly showed where it stopped but he did not see it or the difference from the end of the design and the bleed. I guess that was something else we needed to be super clear with him about, something that most pros would catch. Finally, he printed our programs on a heavy glossy paper that was not necessary for a program for a memorial luncheon, which made them difficult to fold. I guess I will say, that if you are going to work with Jay, make sure you discuss every single aspect of what you want, paper type and weight, trimming, etc. for every aspect of your print job. In the end, we were able to use what was printed, the program and the bookmarks just weren't exactly what we wanted. Additionally, he asked us to reformat our files and then email them to him but didn't reach out until the next day to let us know that he did not receive the file. I will say once he had the files the work was done the next day.

With all of the consolidation in the office supplies industry over the past couple of decades, I think the only ones left standing were Office Depot, Staples, and to a lesser extent FedEx, with companies such as Office Max and Kinko's having been absorbed from competitors. I've been making extended copies at my local Staples, but the costs have continuously gone up as they closed in on a dollar a page on heavy-weight paper which I really didn't need. So, I opted to try the competitor in hopes of saving some money. Was I able to deposit some money back into the bank after using this office store from my printing needs!? PURCHASE(S) 8.5"x11" Double-Sided Color Printouts ($0.70 x130): I needed to print a recent summary inspection report for an investment property we acquired to give to our general contractor as a checklist of things to focus on and repair over time. Although the per-page rate was slightly cheaper than what I've experienced, it wasn't that much different to go somewhat out of my way. The printing quality was fine, the speed was a tad slow, but it got the job done. SERVICE At this time, there were only two employees, and I was the only customer. With no salutations from either of them, I easily headed towards the self-service copy center, checked out the machines, read whatever signage there was as to how the machines worked and payment, and then attempted to make copies. Nope; something went wrong! I tried several times on the same machine to no avail. I went to another copier and finally things were working properly. After about ten minutes, my print job was done, I paid at the machine, I asked a young male salesperson for a bag to put my copies in, and I casually walked out the door. For my needs, all of this was fine, but I sorely hoped this wasn't the norm. PARKING (FREE): They had their own private spacious lot - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large boxy warehouse store filled wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling and multitudes of aisles stocked with a ton of various office supplies of anything you could imagine. There was plenty of space between the aisles, shelves, and floor displays, with a smattering of promotional ads/posters about. Minimal natural lighting came through the large front windows and doors while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There weren't any TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL La Crescenta's Office Depot served its purpose, but for future office service needs, I'll more than likely return to a Staples closer to me. I didn't find much differentiation between the two brands, I had a few Staples closer to me and where I normally was, and this particular location was simply dreadful in feeling like all life was sucked out of it. I walked around, and I saw nothing (even less!) that I couldn't get at Staples. The printing prices may've been slightly less, but it wasn't worth it. And, the service was mostly non-existent and hidden. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $100.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 3.0 STARS
