I honestly had zero clue where we were going, but hubs can read a map blindfolded- so went with the flow. The Charles/MGH T train stop is super convenient as it's located right across from The Whitney Hotel. Even though hubs had a good idea where we were going, we still needed a little push from Ricco who has the kindest heart (with red jacket on) and helped us find our way. We honestly didn't see anything wrong with this train station- unlike someone writing about how this station is "crappy" or "dirty". Plus coming from someone who knows NYC subway perfectly well.... this was neither. This stop just took us from point A to point B seamlessly.

It felt like it was…read moremore social interaction for Alan (he was talking more about where we are from, what do we do for living, what areas of Boston do we live in, a lot of personal information than we did not want to share with the stranger that we will never meet again) and VERY little information on the actual tour subject. We all live in the area and turned out knew more than Alan re history (and none of us possessed a great knowledge to begin with, trust me) and subject. It was strange to hear Alan asking us : " You don't know who Paul Revere was so let me tell you" or going into great details on such a trite subjects like explaining us what "brownstone" building was (we were a group of mature women, but felt like on a kindergarten tour !). I don't want to be rude as Alan is a mature kind gentleman in his late 80's, but this was a waste of our money and time. Point for the future - try to inquire who your guide is beforehand if it's possible.

The trains that are leaving origin stations are often mislabeled or not labeled. At the Tufts station I had to wait 30 minutes to leave because I followed the bright flashing arrow towards the train on my right. 13 minutes later the train on the left, full of staff laughing and joking as folks piled onto the wrong train, took off. Still sitting, watching as the train departs, another train arrives. Staff finally tells us to switch.
