Saw a pedicab and asked if he could take me there (I should have asked the cost but figured it was short ride). Took him less than 10 minutes to get to my destination and when I offered a $20 he said it was $60! I said no way and gave a him a total of $40 but feel like I got shaken down for such a short ride. I aked one of the guys if they would take me via the mass ave bridge and mass ave to harvard square. Such a fabulous way to tour our pedestrian city without walking! We scheduled 2 pedicabs for an hour and a half. We kept them an extra 30 mins. That gave us a perfectly fabulous private tour of the back bay, south end, theater dist / Chinatown, seaport and north end. We stopped for parks, bars and sites along the way. As requested, The drivers selected & dropped us at a bar at the end. Cold refreshments were needed 3 visitors (one 7yr old) and 1 local all loved it. This is an EXCELLENT way to explore Boston. My friend was visiting from out of town and has never been to Boston. After looking for "touristy" things to do after I picked her up from Logan, I found Pedicab and booked the 90 minute Fenway/South End/Back Bay tour online. Within 10 minutes, I had a phone call asking for some additional details in order to personalize the tour and schedule a time to start. I even got assistance finding somewhere to park and meet up. I received texts the day of our tour from Jay, who kept us updated on when he would be meeting us. Jay was very knowledgable and able to answer all of our questions during the tour. He was friendly, personable, and a fantastic pedicab driver! This was a great way to get around and experience the city, rather than taking a bus tour or walking in a group. Very fun. I went to a Red Sox game with some friends and we took a ride on the pedi-cab to Newbury Street. Very fun. We had our pedaler trying to beat the other group. We won which is why they get the 4 star. There is no exact cost. You pay what you think it is worth but the driver does suggest what they usually get. I took a pedicab ride this evening. It was approximately 1 mile long, straight up Boylston St. It took less than 10 minutes. At the end of the trip, I gave the driver $8. She said something to the effect of, "Well, a cab would cost at least $10. But whatever you want." I never take cabs. I have no ideal what they cost. But I played along and explained that I only had $20's - could she make change? I said I wanted $10 back. At first she tried to take an ADDITIONAL $10 from me - for a total of $18. I explained that I wanted to give her $10 total. She practically threw the money at me and started driving away as she muttered, "Thanks a lot. Next time you can take a cab." Maybe I was stingy, maybe not. I don't care and that's not really the point. Regardless, this was an unacceptably rude experience, and the opposite of how you build a positive reputation and good will with your clientele. Here's an idea: Embrace a "pay what you want" model and then insult people who pay what they honestly think is a fair price. Good luck with that! Y'know, I just might take a cab next time. We took a pedicab today from Lucky Stikes near Fenway to Shops at Prudential. Probably 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile. Wanted to give the driver $10 for the 5 minute ride (more than a cab would cost). He conveniently didn't have change for a $20 - even though he had told us that a guy had just given him a $10 tip for not using his service. Anyway we only had $7 ones and $20s so we asked again if he had change. He said no. So he got the $7. As we got out of the pedicab he loudly exclaims - $7?! That SUCKS, man! I can't make a living on this! So we are confused. Is it tips only - whatever that means to someone. Is it pay what a cab would cost - which ended up being exactly what we did. Or is it a specific fare? I'm suggesting they pick one and in the meantime, they should be sure to carry change. read more

I regularly take pedi cabs back and forth from the prudential area to Fenway. Always a great experience and a fun way to begin and end an event. I need to give a special shout out for the experience I had last night. I guess I was distracted on the way home by the really cute boy I was riding with (my grandson!) and I left my phone, in a case with my drivers license, credit cards, etc. in the cab. The driver recovered it, kept it secure overnight, got in touch with me and brought it back to me today, with everything intact. So, tried booking pedicabs in advance for my wedding day. Totally didn't work. Tried multiple times to get info. I had correspondence, but they kept requesting the same info. I finally heard back from them two days before my wedding. I wasn't worried that they wouldn't be able to do it, but let's be honest, I had no time two days before the wedding to even reply at that point. They still get 5 stars, because we used them and it was AWESOME. We called after our ceremony and they came in about 15 minutes or so. Our drivers were Christian and Justin, and they were absolutely amazing. It was so fun riding through Boston in our wedding gear--C and J rang their bells and called out to people and got everyone yelling and cheering for us. They took us to where we wanted photos taken and then took us to our reception. It was so fun; definitely one of the highlights of the wedding day! read more

It was one of the only things happening during the wedding that didn't keep my up at night thinking about the bill. We know the pedicabs are great fun around Boston and have used them. What a fantastic way to see the city of Boston. We did the Trolley Tour and the Harbor Tour and then the Pedicab. It is such a different way to see every thing in the city you would miss. I'll give them 2 stars instead of 1 because it is a quick way to get around Boston and they are eco-friendly. Other than that, my friend and I had a terrible experience. We took a pedi-cab from Hanover & Atlantic Ave to around South Station. The whole way there our driver was weaving in and out of traffic, not sure if he was trying to show off but he was scaring us and he knew it. He kept flying down the road in between cars with VERY little space on either side - let's just say if my hand was holding the side of the seat it would have probably gotten cut off. He also took us up the curb onto the sidewalk just for "fun". Overall it was pretty scary to be in the backseat of that thing. It felt like we were either going to tip over or get in an accident. The driver was very friendly to us during the ride but he was not considerate of our requests to slow down or stop weaving around cars. They operate on tips only, so at the end of the ride we gave the driver $7. We thought that was fair since a cab would have been about $7 - but he had kind of a rude response and just sped off leaving us feeling like we short-changed him. read more

My daughter who is 7 and I enjoyed a fun filled, educational, and amazing ride through the city of Boston. Our guide and amazing athlete CHASE was so accomodating, funny and full of knowledge. It was a gorgeous night and the two guys we had pulling our group through the town were fun and entertaining. They had music playing and just created a perfect, breezy tour of Boston.
