Mobsters and Lobsters is a mafia story laden trip that ends up at the south shore popular lobster eatery. Although Mother Nature and the traffic in downtown Boston decided yo play games with us the owner who's name actually is Tom Collins, started off with a quick quip yo get the folks settled and the first round of beverages were begun. Tom brings us around to the spectacular locations and spots where specific mobsters from the years past were doing their cunning and not so cunning work. Tom's knowledge for this thoroughly interesting topic is unmatched. His serious knowledge of the history of other significant historical places and events speckled with his dry "Bastan" humor. Made this trip extremely worthwhile. The duration was four hours long which also included a Lobster dinner at a local eatery on the south Boston harbor. I haven't laughed this hard in a long while. If you are in beantown for a spell. I highly recommend you and you motley crew join Tom for an interesting alcohol added trip back in time. Our guide, Aviva, did a great job balancing engaging the group with french fry history (who knew there was so much!) and Harvard Square info, with letting the group's conversation evolve naturally. We lucked out with a very amicable group. We went to 4 different spots. They made a point (a few times) to highlight local businesses which was great. The tour was designed around going from the earliest history of donuts to the future of donuts, plus a side bar on churros. The tour was very short and the only feedback I would give for improvement would be to include a bit more walking between stops, although I get that the shops are all very close together, it would have been good to have a bit of time to digest. And I would recommend bringing water/a drink to wash down all the donuts. The cost was about $48 after fees and we got a good amount of donuts samples plus a Greek coffee. A couple of the businesses also brought some nice treats for the people on our tours whose birthday it was which made it extra special. This was a really nice way to explore some local businesses, eat really delicious donuts, and learn a bit about the history of the donut. Overall I would recommend.

All of the actors were awesome and stayed in character the entire time. After, we were led onto the ship where we had the opportunity to throw "tea" into the harbor. There was a lot of people to get through so this portion goes quick. Also, it's completely optional. Lastly, they take you into a few more rooms to look at artifacts and watch a short video. At the end of the tour, there is a tea room and gift shop. Overall, I think its a fun activity worth trying. You get to learn a lot about the Boston Tea Party and the Revolutionary War.

Improved a lot over the years, Boston Tea Party museum has improved!…read more For our tour/experience, we joined the town meeting hall room where we were guided through some background before the Boston Tea Party took place with actors bringing the history to life with their own experience Each of the attendees received a card to tell us who we were. Now, our actor, character's name, was Peter. They had a little of a quieter voice so I could hear them clearly but it was a little challenge. We went from the meeting room to the boat where we had a limit opportunity to throw tea off the ship. Children were the primary participants in our group of 40-50 people. Then we went into this theater area with moving portraits and wide-length screen to hear the story of the museum. The tour ends in Abigail Tea Room and I recommend checking out all of the tea because it is graded based on the popularity in the 1770s from most expensive to cheapest. When I have visitors, I will go back again and glad to see such a robust experience.

Now this tour may not be for everyone, as the title of the tour alludes to.. but if you don't mind the random swear word and aren't easily offended, you'll be like me... cracking up for 3 hours straight. And there was one thing I noticed about Anthony that he doesn't advertise, and may try to track me down for saying on here.... But beneath the gruff exterior was the sweetest guy that seemed genuinely interested in sharing his culture, stories, and amazing food with everyone! We started off at a pizza joint where we got a slice of pizza and an arancini ball. I expected the pizza to be good... and it was fantastic. But I am not a huge fan of arancini and this one had peas in it... also something I am not a huge fan.... But hey, I was on a food tour so I was going to try everything! Thank goodness I did, because this arancini was the stuff of dreams. How in the world could something be THAT much better than what high end Italian restaurants advertise? The last time I had an arancini ball was at a restaurant in Hawaii that won "best Italian food in Hawaii".... And it was only so-so. This arancini ball would make me fly 5,000 just to eat it again! Next up was a deli sub, a coffee shop, ravioli, a pastry shop and lastly an affogato (or gelato if you didn't want coffee that late in the day). Based on the food I received, before factoring in all the stories that Anthony shared, I feel the tour was really underpriced. I wish I hadn't done this the tour on my last day, I would have gone back for another round of everything we tried, as well as everything that was recommended. Heck I may have signed up for the tour again just to experience it all over again!

The tour guide, Anthony, is a living embodiment of the spirit of the North End. He knows and loves the streets, the people and the food there. And he is passionate about sharing that knowledge. His stories about the neighborhood and its history are entertaining, educational, and funny. Warning: they are colored occasionally by some spicy language! If you are easily offended by that, this may not be the best tour for you. If not, it all seems perfectly appropriate and is meant in good fun. This is one of the very few tours that we would take again. Can't wait to get back to Boston! Highly recommended!

Our guide, Jake, met us a bit early in the appointed spot. He handed us the ghost plushies we bought (a nice souvenir) and the EMF meters we rented, and since there were only four of us on the tour, he began early. I didn't find him very engaging and felt he was going for "jump scares" when telling the stories. Since it was evening, we could only stop outside or across the street from places we visited (except for the Boston Common, where we met). I did like the three extra stories on the extended tour. I recommend not renting the EMF meters, as we weren't really encouraged to use them. It seems Jake forgot about them as soon as he gave them to us. I turned them on a few times, but didn't get much of a result. It is a fairly short tour; we began around 7:45 and were done by 9:15. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing quite a bit of walking, including up a hill (that Jake joked was the scariest part of the tour). Whether or not you take the extended tour, you end up in a different location, so be mindful of that. It's not a must-do, but if it works with your schedule, it's a nice way to spend an evening.

Our first group travel experience and yes Peru was amazing…read morebut the accommodations not so much. - Putting children at risk by having them bunk w/ behavioral special needs children - anyone w/ special needs should either stay with a parent or a special needs teacher/ helper, someone who is trained on what to do - What kind of tour leader recommends going to the mall? That is unacceptable - would you add that to your places on the itinerary for a trip to South America??? EF EDUCATIONAL Tours takes you to the mall! For 2hrs!!! Wow. Big education. - Not give us time to grab lunch at the "beach" where we could try the famous ceviche of lima, just to hurry to the mall for 2hrs of nothing, well to eat Japanese is wildly absurb - Dinners; 1 dinner was to par the rest was low income eating for $5k ??? Not worth it. - Hotels; inconsistent wifi, no heat, electricity went out the last day while trying to get ready for our flight - Seats not together on trains, planes or even w/ our personal group - Sitting us in the airport for 2hrs after a 10hr flight, waiting for another group to arrive but took the first group to the hotel right when they landed - Forcing us to the airport early to sit us there for 6hrs bc the other group is leaving much earlier, then expecting us to land after a 6hr airport wait to a 10hr flight & now stay waiting in that airport for our next flight for another 6hrs, THIS IS SOME SORT OF SCAM. Oh here is 30 soles. Wow. - Paid for a 9 day trip & received basically a 6.5 day trip, we were just thrown on someone else's trip to give extra money to their agent. That is criminal. - Only the largest group of travel being considered for all requests/ decisions - Maybe if you are only going to consider one group dont take the money of others just for yr own profit
