So much fun! While attending work conferences some coworkers and I booked this tour with our…read morespouses to try something new. Amber was our tour guide and she was wonderful! She incorporated just the right amount of humor into a tour that was otherwise creepy, educational, thrilling, and entertaining. We ended the tour at the Omni Parker Hotel which was also great to explore and grab a night cap.

Our guide, Jake, met us a bit early in the appointed spot. He handed us the ghost plushies we bought (a nice souvenir) and the EMF meters we rented, and since there were only four of us on the tour, he began early. I didn't find him very engaging and felt he was going for "jump scares" when telling the stories. Since it was evening, we could only stop outside or across the street from places we visited (except for the Boston Common, where we met). I did like the three extra stories on the extended tour. I recommend not renting the EMF meters, as we weren't really encouraged to use them. It seems Jake forgot about them as soon as he gave them to us. I turned them on a few times, but didn't get much of a result. It is a fairly short tour; we began around 7:45 and were done by 9:15. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing quite a bit of walking, including up a hill (that Jake joked was the scariest part of the tour). Whether or not you take the extended tour, you end up in a different location, so be mindful of that. It's not a must-do, but if it works with your schedule, it's a nice way to spend an evening.

I have a bone to pick with Politically Incorrect North End Food Tour.... It was so so good that it…read morehas ruined every other food tour for me.... Anthony has set the bar way too high. Now this tour may not be for everyone, as the title of the tour alludes to.. but if you don't mind the random swear word and aren't easily offended, you'll be like me... cracking up for 3 hours straight. And there was one thing I noticed about Anthony that he doesn't advertise, and may try to track me down for saying on here.... But beneath the gruff exterior was the sweetest guy that seemed genuinely interested in sharing his culture, stories, and amazing food with everyone! We started off at a pizza joint where we got a slice of pizza and an arancini ball. I expected the pizza to be good... and it was fantastic. But I am not a huge fan of arancini and this one had peas in it... also something I am not a huge fan.... But hey, I was on a food tour so I was going to try everything! Thank goodness I did, because this arancini was the stuff of dreams. How in the world could something be THAT much better than what high end Italian restaurants advertise? The last time I had an arancini ball was at a restaurant in Hawaii that won "best Italian food in Hawaii".... And it was only so-so. This arancini ball would make me fly 5,000 just to eat it again! Next up was a deli sub, a coffee shop, ravioli, a pastry shop and lastly an affogato (or gelato if you didn't want coffee that late in the day). Based on the food I received, before factoring in all the stories that Anthony shared, I feel the tour was really underpriced. I wish I hadn't done this the tour on my last day, I would have gone back for another round of everything we tried, as well as everything that was recommended. Heck I may have signed up for the tour again just to experience it all over again!

I highly recommend this tour and would do it again in the future . Try to book directly with him. Viator takes a large cut https://bostonnorthendtours.com/

THIS experience was... WONDERFUL!!! FYI... DONALD WATSON is THE MAN! Was investigating Boston…read moreFreedom Trail tour options online and was given a link on bostonusa.com after being redirected from thefreedomtrail.org site, while preparing for our first family visit to Boston, MA. Apparently COVID-19 has suspended all Freedom Trail Foundation led tours at the moment (summer 2021) so was looking for something to engage our kids' interest while we walked Boston's Freedom Trail. Let's face it... just walking and looking at the Freedom Trail will be absolutely boring to most kids. Tour guides in normal clothes & just talking to us... PASS! Donning historically accurate clothing and talking with an accent, and website claims of "good at engaging young people"... HUZZAHHH! Winner, WINNER! Setting up the tour over the phone was not difficult at all. Phone calls were returned promptly. Donald Watson was the point man for organizing the details of our jaunt on The Trail. We were even allowed to alter the start time to facilitate additional commitments later in the day. Flexibility! Thank you!! When the Freedom Trail day arrived, we finally met Mr. Watson in person, and he was quite the cheery chap! Donned in clothing that was circa 1776 and sportin' an accent that was easily understood. He took the role of Sons Of Liberty member James Otis. Allowed us some time to finish our on the run breakfast too, before starting our tour at the Boston Common Visitor Center. We confirmed everyone was COVID-19 vaccinated, so... Everyone ready?!? YES! And off we went! Good pace to the walking tour, never felt rushed, always waited for everyone to catch up before talking, answered all questions with an obvious depth of knowledge! Had us all yelling "FIE!" And "HUZZAH!" throughout the tour as we hit 11 of the Freedom Trail sites. We finished at Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, all VERY happy our experience, all exuberantly saying "FIE!" when Mr. Watson announced "We've reached the end our tour." HAH! All the families wanted to get pictures with Mr. Watson, cuz we "kinda" enjoyed our jaunt with him way too much ;) VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! As a comparison, we also took the Boston Duck Tour and this was FAR MORE enjoyable for our party of 12, age range 12-52. Enjoy! We sure did! :)
