I was a little skeptical about this ride because I don't really like fast boats. However, I think so. It was great and I really like that. They don't just keep going fast and they let you like get some time to settle but than they go fast for like a 7 minutes. I also really liked the story and that there's a lot of things to learn while being on a fast boat. I would go again read more

At first, I was a bit nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect. But once we got there, they started playing classic tunes from ACDC to Journey, which really lifted my spirits. They do provide a raincoat/poncho, but honestly, it's not very effective. If you want to stay dry, I'd suggest getting a thicker raincoat. Also, if you're not a fan of getting soaked, this might not be the best ride for you. And definitely leave your purse behind - it will definitely get wet! Have fun and enjoy the scenery! I was in boston to watch the yankees vs. red sox play. i did not have much time to do anything that day so i looked at fun things i could do while i was there. One of the top things was Codzilla. I am very prone to motion sickness yet this did not trigger it. i had the time of my life with my dad and would 100% do it again. Our guide made it a million times better, she made it very fun and made everyone laugh. if you plan to go make sure you get there about 15-30 minutes early because they only do one trip every hour or so. it gets actually, no way fun and bumby for about 20 minutes. A must-do in Boston! It's like a roller coaster on the water! The tour guide Mike was funny and made it even more fun. They play rock music and the boat goes up to 40mph. Be aware the boat makes sudden turns and rocks a lot when it stops if you are prone to motion sickness. And you'll get wet so wear a poncho or bring a change of clothes if you're worried about that. But to me that's what makes it fun! This was my second time doing Codzilla and it's always been one of my top recommended things to do in Boston! read more

This is the now SECOND TIME IN A ROW they have cancelled. I even repurchased new tickets because the first time we got ALL THE WAY out in the ocean just for the engine to not work. These are things that should be checked before because we are now in danger. The second time they told us right before we were supposed to all get on that it is cancelled due to the weather because It will be raining soon. Our ride was at 4:30 it is now 5:30 with NO rain and the sun out. This is ridiculous and will never buy tickets from here ever again. I've lived in Boston for many years but first time going on it. Definitely a fun ride on the water. The boat goes 40 miles per hour and the turns and bumps make it feel like a rollercoaster. The host and other staff are super friendly and energetic as well. Super safe too, they have seatbelts and handle bars to hold on too as well. Also they give you a free poncho because you'll definitely get wet You also get a great view of city skyline and the other islands around. I gave it a 4 just because it is a bit pricy for the whole experience. I would give a 4.5 if possible though Definitely a fun touristy thing to do though and great for kids! read more

Codzilla came highly recommended from a friend of mine who is a Boston local and whose son had gone on Codzilla and LOVED it. I didn't know what to expect, and it was probably best that I didn't know much about it. Codzilla is a "boat tour", but it's not much of a tour. It's a high-speed boat ride around the Boston harbor that is much more of a thrill ride than a tour of anything; you'll see the recently developed Seaport district, the airport and a water-processing plant. They say that the ride is a wet ride, but the boat didn't look particularly wet....yeah, that was deceptive. Even though we were wearing ponchos, we still got soaked. Codzilla is on the pricey side but definitely fun - it was the highlight of the trip for my 12-year old. The theme of Codzilla should be The Wknd's "Can't Feel My Face" because the boat ride was really fast....so fast that I think my face almost became numb! It would've been better if I was wearing goggles or sunglasses because I couldn't keep my eyes open with all of the salt water being sprayed on to the boat. It's probably not good to make too many plans afterward. We were uncomfortably wet and a little itchy from the salt water drying and needed to go back to the hotel to change. read more

Booked Codzilla for my birthday and boy was it worth it! This was my first trip to Boston on a warm June day and I wanted something cool to do in the ocean since I love all things boating. The host on the boat was great. He was super enthusiastic and told funny jokes throught the ride. Yes it was borderline cheesy but still all in good fun. Codzilla goes really fast at times and turns all over the place. And yes I got mildly soaked. My only gripe is I wish it was longer for $30 a person. Felt more like 25 mins than 45. Overall, I loved it. Beautiful views of Boston harbor and a great summer activity. If I'm ever in Boston again I would do it! read more

This review isn't for the boat ride, but for the website/company that manages it, City Experiences. I wasted $100 all because I could not find parking. The website does not give any information about where to park. I got there at 1:30PM for a 2:00PM codzilla ride, and I went into a parking garage directly next to it that let people inside when there were NO SPOTS AVAILABLE. Wasted my time and missed my boat ride (was not allowed to reschedule before the ride which I found out later, even with ticket assurance.) The garage even wanted $20 for the time we spent in there. Told them to gft. Moral of my wasted-time-&- money story, is that if you plan on driving there, allow yourself at LEAST an hour to find parking and/or do your research on. Or take the T. Also, DO NOT buy the ticket assurance! It's such a waste of $10. It only allows you to reschedule 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. So, if you have some sort of emergency or can't find parking, there is no way to change your ticket or get your money back. It isn't clear when you go to purchase it as it only shows you the benefits of having it and doesn't show its restrictions. I assumed I would get a refund with ticket assurance, but no that was not the case. I waited a week for my refund that never appeared. When I finally talked to a human, they told me that it was a no-show which is non-refundable and non-transferable. Some BS. Really upset over this, and I hope through writing this review others don't have to go through what I did and get their money wasted!!! read more

A four word review - It's good for $20. It's a big boat with dual turbo diesel engines that gets moving pretty well headed out of the harbo, lots of nice tight turns and wake fun. I live in the city and have always wanted to try the codzilla. I finally found the time to do it today and it was well worth it. Cost about $56 for two people which isn't horrible. The staff on board was hilarious and friendly. It was so much fun and I purposely sat in the back left side because I heard that's where you get the most wet and that is definitely true. I got soaked head to toe, so worth it. The speed is just the right amount because Ang faster the wind would hurt your face. The water does sting when it gets in your eyes but you'll get over it. I'm shocked to see this place has 3 stars. It really deserves around 4-5 stars. The experience is great and it is in the heart of the city, so of course it's going to cost you a few extra dollars. It's a speed boat and it's freaking awesome. In a hot summer day it is the perfect activity to partake in because you get soaked . Shout out to John the host for being so enthusiastic, and with a great sense of humor. My friend and I had a fantastic time. I would recommend this to everyone. I loved Codzilla. Great views... Let me tell you, I was a skeptic at first. Reviews were all over the place, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. I'm having a hard time putting my experience into words. Have you ever scored a game winning touchdown? How about a walk-off home run. 12th round knockout? I haven't experienced any of those things, but I assume my Codzilla experience was similar to all three of those. It was absolutely EXHILARATING. Word is that Codzilla was founded by two former NASA scientists that were removed from the Mars 2020 project for, I quote, "engineering rockets that were too crazy and fun." Crank some ACDC and slap those rockets on your boat and you have the behometh that is Codzilla. In 2015, there was a case study of 5 adolescent males (ranging from 12-15 in age) that rode Codzilla multiple times on a weekly basis. After three weeks, their trips transitioned from a habitual excursions to a visceral need. Codzilla can increase adrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin levels to amounts higher than previously perceived as possible. To this date, these five adolescents are in still in therapy trying to recover from their Codzilla withdrawals. They say they no longer feel emotions unless they're on Codzilla. This has since been known as catching a "case of the 'Zills." I do implore that everyone try Codzilla at least once, but please do so in moderation. read more

I had the bright idea to hit the water with a friend on a fun, and sunny Sunday. A regular harbor cruise sounded too pedestrian for a rough, and ready action man like me, but the bright colors, and sharp fangs of the Codzilla logo called out to my adventurous side. Without knowing much more about it than that, I bought a ticket, and got in line. The boat leaves every hour on the hour for a speed boat ride. Boston Harbor Cruises has a ticket booth, but I strongly recommend buying your tickets in advance if you are on a schedule. There is no guarantee that a given trip will have room for you, and then you will just have an hour to kill while waiting for the next one. That was me on Sunday. I actually spent the time sitting, and enjoying the weather as you should be. You are out on the waterfront. Tourists are out, doing the touristy things so the people watching is excellent. Unless you are the Gordon's fisherman, I assume that the weather is nice enough to make you want to cruise the waves, so it was not a bad wait. I also got to be first in line once the boat left for the preceding trip, and spent a lot of time with the warning sign. Just to hit the salient points, the sign warns that you will hit speeds up to 40 MPH, you may get extremely wet, and that you should not ride Codzilla with any serious medical conditions. I was feeling especially bad ass on the day, fit as a fiddle, and was not pregnant, so I was mainly interested in how we could get. I know that I wrote "extremely wet", but the sign actually says "EXTREMELY WET" in caps, so I wanted to know how wet is extremely wet. Is it wet like taking a shower? Is it wet like jumping directly into the harbor? That is just normal wet. We all know that wet. Extreme wetness sounds like more, so much more. I wanted that Davey Jone's locker wetness. I wanted that Poseidon, god of the seas level wetness. I wanted to get wet like drinking some Evian in my swimming pool in a hurricane while a tsunami washes over the land. Yeah, that is extreme wetness, all right. With my expectations properly set, the boat arrived, and I got to watch the previous group disembark. Some were soaked. Some clearly wore the ponchos, and only got kind of wet. The game was afoot. I got on, and sat at the front. All joking aside, it is a speed boat thrill ride. The driver goes out of his way to make huge wakes, hit bumps, and make sharp turns. If he could safely do wheelies on a boat, I am sure that he would. It was pretty fun for a land lubber like me, because it was a new experience. No amount of speed and tricks will make you have fun if you want to be an EXTREMELY WET blanket, but if you come in with a positive attitude and an open mind then it is pretty great. Every one is there to have a good time, and spend a few minutes on the water so just let the good times wash over you, pun intended. read more
