If you're getting off here, make sure to press the "stop request" button as they don't always stop. On a nice day, and today was a very nice day, there's a stunning view along Comm Ave of the Prudential tower. Especially lovely at sunset. BU Central is obviously between BU East (inbound) and BU West (outbound) on the B branch of the Green Line.

The station has a minimal amount of cover from rain but it's not much. You're going to be experiencing the weather here for sure. At least there is a decent barrier from the traffic of the very busy Comm Ave. This station does not have an audible or visual announcement of the next train. It has some handicapped access with a portable ramp for wheelchairs to access the higher platforms of the Green Line trains. There are no ticket machines or turnstiles here. If you are disembarking here, you will need to press the "stop request button." If you are boarding, you will need to do so at the front door next to the driver so that you can provide payment. Somewhere I'd read I had to be there to use the card I'd booked with so it was nice that I didn't. The concierge told me I didn't need to pay for parking in the hotel lot because it being a quiet weekend in August, there was free Saturday night/Sunday street parking right on the same block. So that was unexpected and helpful. It's also nice to be able to park temporarily in front of the hotel while we checked in And unloaded our luggage. We had two rooms right next to each other on the sixth floor. One room was comfortable and cool but the other AC was not as good (I felt quite warm) and so I asked for 2 fans. I did have to carry them up myself but it made for good sleep. The king beds were quite comfortable and I loved the blue and white quilts! The red velvet couches were gorgeous. The secondary blanket for the pull out couch, was not of the same quality. Nor were the decorative bed pillows. But in all it was the quaintest hotel room ever! More like a historic bed & breakfast. Ask ahead if you need something, extra like pillows or towels because the room staff doesn't stay past 8 (?) PM. I would've liked if there were four bathrobes hanging in the closet instead of one since they were four guests. I didn't ask for more-maybe I should have. I did ask for and get more towels, it seemed a little bit silly, for their not have been enough left so that everyone had their own. But it was an easy fix. We didn't use the coffee maker in the room or the microwave. We used the refrigerator and it was nice to have. We must have gotten upgraded (!) because these things were not listed as available. (I booked on an outside site.) Breakfast was good- lots of hot bacon scrambled eggs, and potatoes, (add your own salt, pepper, hot sauce... plus many extra things like brioche bread to toast, fruit, oats and yoghurt. I particularly liked the little cranberry scones. The coffee was very good. And tea was available to make. Note they left drink drinks out past 10 AM (when breakfast is officially over). I appreciated this because it's nice to be able to get a 2nd cup of tea and or coffee. Seating was casual in the lobby or at some tables which were pretty full. I saw some people did go outside through a side door, to the black sheep restaurant seating but there's no sign for it. I didn't know you could until later I noticed people out there when I was leaving. Some of my group had great oysters and scallops across the street. It was a happy hour. One thing I liked about the location was that even though it's not in the busiest part of Boston, there were nice restaurants within walking distance and even a lounge/restaurant within the hotel. All in all, a cute, relaxing, quiet and comfortable hotel that I would stay at again.

Amtrak recommends arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled train and it was my first time using…read moreAmtrak, and my first time to Route 128 Station. Exit the highway, drive past the parking garage and turn left onto Blue Hill Drive, and take the left on in where it says "Amtrak/MBTA Pick-up & Drop off". Either entrance at the end will work. While the left side is more direct and closer to the Amtrak counter, the right side will take you past the Dunkin Donuts. There's a waiting area, the bathrooms are by the elevator, and only two tracks. 1 is outbound, and 2 heads into Boston. Simple. Start heading out when they announce that your train is arriving, about 8 min in advance. Head towards the right if you are Coach bound. Take a seat and the conductor will scan your ticket code and tuck a paper ticket above you. Take it with you if you change seats. If you go past NYC, the crew changes, and every passenger gets scanned again. If you are ADA and need access to one of their accessible seats, there's a way to mention it when buying your ticket, so the conductor will save you a seat in advance. Two bathrooms are available at one end of the Coach car. If the light is on, the bathroom is taken and the door locked. These are roomier than those on airplanes. So are the seats, although they otherwise resemble those found in planes with the tables that fold down and seats that recline back. 120 volt plugs are available, but no screens and no headset jacks, so no music. Stops are announced, so it felt that communication was pretty good on the train and at the station. Coming back and arriving on track 2, we had to exit and head up and over the tracks, where we could go straight into the garage, or take the escalator down by Dunkin Donuts. There's an elevator as well, which will take you to the bathrooms.

They were the last holdouts in the MLB. The city of Boston reverted the name of nearby Yawkey Wayto Jersey Street for similar reasons the prior year.

Fun area to experience around Fenway. It's just buzzing with people going in and out of shops…read moreduring a game or concert. I came for a concert and there were food booths and merch vendors on the street. The area has bars and restaurants to post up and people watch. You can stand in the middle of Yawkey and just take it all in for a few minutes. I sure did and appreciated that I got to experience such a spectacular evening that started on Yawkey. Everyone was in good spirits and courteous. Clearly even if there isn't an event happening at Fenway you can still explore the different bars and have a good time. It looks similar to the other one just down the river, but I use the other one much more often, which is the Western Avenue Bridge, because I'm usually traveling from my friends' houses in Cambridge into Allston to have some fun. This one was built a year later but it looks very similar. I'm pretty sure the same designers and what not are responsible for it. It looks a bit like the famous Pont-Neuf in Paris. It's gorgeous.
