Tim was un-empathetic with a condescending tone on the phone as he was informing of the policies regarding returns. Clearly I was frustrated to learn that the cost of mailing a helmet back for a refund was exceeding the refunded monies. I was technically in the wrong through out. Big Save by the floor manager yesterday. i went on line to replace a stolen saddle for my bike . its a very hard to get seat and I needed it for the aidslifecycle ride on Sunday. found this store through a google search and saw they had instant chat. so I hit them up about an overnight shipping KEVIN the customer service rep on chat should be about 5 sheets to the wind in his 1/8 of pot he must be smoking. He literally took 15 Min's to answer one question "Can you ship me the saddle overnight" his glorious answer was "YEP" ....... OK really ? "YEP" 5 Min's later he finally comes back and says i would need to call to order it. OK no problem 15 Min's of my life wasted waiting to find out I needed to call only to be number 1 in the Que on hold for another ten Min's due to "heavy call volume" by this time I am a little annoyed talking to surfer boy KEVIN on instant chat was like pulling teeth from a dead seal. so why 3 stars I take most of the blame for waiting till the last minute to get the seat replaced and my frustration was mostly with myself. Of course being the annoyed human I am I decided to take it out on the customer service rep that answered the phone. Imagine my shock to find they had only one saddle left they could send it overnight no problem but only if I had done business with them before. OK I took off on that guy something good and let him know he was losing the sale and it thought it was a real crummy way to conduct business. Turns out the agent on the phone was the direct sales manager and said to me look I want to make you happy lets see if we can figure this out and he asked me some security questions about my address matching the credit card etc for his protection then walked to the warehouse to ship me the seat over night and after I calmed down I was sold that what was important to this company was to get me on the road and ride. I got the saddle this morning. Love it ! I paid 250 cash for this seat 3 years ago and got it from Cambria bike for 179 and with overnight shipping I still paid less than the 1st seat from a shop in town. will i be a customer with them from now on? you bet would I ever use instant chat again with this site ? NOPE !! They truly deserve 5 stars for saving the sale but KEVIN I am sorry you stole their glory with shoddy response time and a less than stellar customer service performance. When in Paso Robles and looking to rent bikes you will find none. This place did and for a reasonable price. Call or go by as depending on their shop day...as at this location they don't really rent bikes. This is really a warehouse/maintence store and they were busy with satisfied customer after another. read more

I have been in the shop several times and the service/support has been excellent. They advocated for me to get some out-of-warranty wheels replaced free of charge. They were able to diagnose and fix a problem that my local bike shop could not. I live quite sways from their shop but would not hesitate to go the distance for service on my bikes. read more

Cambria operates like a LBS but also sells highly discounted parts online like Jenson and I was surprised to find they had the lowest price for a pair of Shimano Deore XT Shifters at $60. Heck they even offered free shipping for anything above $50 with a code. My first issue came up when I forgot to put in the promo code for free shipping, so I called and asked if they could refund me the $6.99 and asked when the it would ship. I didn't catch the guy's name but the guy said, "boy you have a lot of questions", a lot of sass for some basic questions but he agreed to refund me. So no harm no foul right? No, so I get my shifters a couple days ago and as soon as I see the box I am thinking something is off since Deore XT come in a rectangular black box with Shimano branding but they shipped a small square brown box with nothing but their internal UPC code on it. So I think to myself there was no mention of this being used, maybe they were just overstock. I open up the package and the shifters, cables, and a manual was included but nothing else. What really irked me was the fact that the there were scratches and gauges all over, yet these were being marketed as new. So I call Cambria yesterday and get the same guy and get the same sass having him over-explain where they get these parts and how they are able sell them for so cheap. Basically he said these are just cosmetic scratches and they got these OEM from Santa Cruz and he offered me $9 off if I kept it, otherwise I could return them for free, so I got the $9 but previously had also emailed them about this providing pictures and someone got back to me as well and responded with a heck of a lot less sass and simply apologized and said they were OEM but the company must has sent a mounted pair by mistake and offered me an additional $15 off. With this said $36 for a pair of previously mounted XT 10 speed shifters isn't bad, but their website markets them pretty much as new since they make no mention that they are OEM. So would I shop there again? Probably not for Shimano components knowing how they source them, but for other items sure. I did buy a pair of $100 Continental tires with zero issues. read more

I was very dissatisfied with one individual in the Paso Robles store. He is an older guy who probably doesn't ride as he is also over weight. He was super annoyed with me for bringing back a part that didn't fit my bike. Ok, I admit I screwed up but this guy was insulting and rude beyond what I have ever witnessed from a business. Fortunately he walked out and got another guy to take his place as apparently he had to go pick up his son from school.Thank goodness. His replacement was the opposite. Super friendly, helpful and I told him the story. He apologized and gave me his card and asked me to just ask for him in the future. So they get a 3. Would have been a 5 or a 1 depending on the circumstances. Just beware if you go in there. read more

Worst customer service ever. Walked in and stood at the desk for 15 mins and nobody even looked at me. I walked over to the desk and employees still ignored me. Finally a guy asked if I was being helped and I said no and he said he'll go get someone. 10 mins later and a guy finally asked what I needed and barely helped at all. read more

CBO is awesome, I ordered online a set of commuter tires for my bike, they price smash any other advertised amount to guarantee you will get the best price, shipping is reasonable for UPS ground, and I got it in two days. They now have a permanent spot in my bookmarks. read more

My rear derailleur cable was almost worn through so I walked in planning on dropping my bike off to have it replaced. I hoped to get the bike back within a day or two, but Chase said "let me put that on for you." 10 minutes later it was done and at a very reasonable cost. They sold me a product, placed a backorder, gave me the wrong part, and then refused to honor their sales agreement and required me to pay more for the part they originally sold! FALSE ADVERTISING. CBO PR gave me a great deal on my bike, however the service was and is crap. I let the fellas working there know I was new to MTB, so one would have thunk they'd give me the 411 on full suspension adjustments for weight and ride preference NOPE. Additionally, after visiting the SLO CBO I learned they didn't air up my dropper post and my rear shock was set for a rider weighing 120, I'm 240. Tubeless is an option that is offered at SLO store before you leave, but I guess not at PR CBO. The guys at the SLO store are top notch dudes that will be getting all my future business. the PR tech guy is a tired old can't do burnout. Props to SLO CBO, thumbs downto PRs. read more

I recently did my first online order, and it was at my doorstep 3 days later, very prompt and happy on my end. The two times I called in, the vibe I got was of a very short staffed (fairly big?!) online retailer, that was mainly short in the customer service dept (at least on the phone side of things, seemed in need of a lot of help). That is quite sad to experience, as bicycles are a big part of many 1000's of peoples lives, and every day there are several hundred customers who need some form of help. Top Exec's at Cambria, higher some more qualified CSR's , like pronto-Tonto !!! I left a review on the other San Luis location Yelp as well, as from what I have heard it is owned by the same people. read more
