Back Porch Bakery - 3 Morning Buns and a Chocolate Croissant- I couldn't resist the almond croissant so it's gone!

The breading pulls apart so nicely. - While at the bakery, you can use the restroom located in the Carlton Hotel if you are a patron of the bakery. The Carlton just repainted and decorated the lobby. It looks fantastic! - The wall behind the check-in desk was hand -painted by a local artist and features all local plants and woodland creatures. I'm a huge fan of the color green they chose. The front desk agent was so welcoming and kind in explaining all of this to me. Make sure to check it out!

I could barely see the pastries in the case. No worries though, I saw what I came in for. Purchased a French baguette for $3.70. Beyond amazed at the price. Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

Love the unique combos that you can't really get at the grocery store. We're on our way to Hearst Castle to stop by for a quick bite and this place did not disappoint. My boyfriend got a cinnamon roll and we split the Italian Grinder. Both were so fresh and the ingredients seemed top notch. So glad we had an opportunity to try this bakery!

It wasn't the quickest option because there was one person rolling dough off to the side and one person handling everything else including making the food and taking orders, so I would expect to wait. If you have the time though, the breakfast bagel sandwiches were good and they also have a chocolate zucchini loaf that we also bought. The bagels tasted fresh and the sandwiches were very filling. I didn't add anything to my bagel (beyond the cream cheese, tomato, and avocado that was included in the breakfast bagel), but my boyfriend added bacon and it was a generous amount. The chocolate zucchini loaf is honestly more of a cake and quite a bit sweeter than other zucchini bread I've tried. If you're looking for a denser chocolate cake with little flecks of green, it's great. They also offered samples, and we bought the chocolate zucchini loaf because we enjoyed the sample. There isn't anywhere to sit inside but there are a couple of tables outside on the patio. Only a couple of them had umbrellas, and unfortunately we were at one without an umbrella, but it wasn't too bad since it was earlier in the day. This is definitely a more casual place, and worth going to if you have some extra time to spend and it's convenient to you.

I think it was good we skipped the cream cheese frosting since it was super sweet. The roll itself already had sugar and cinnamon and was good. Also, got a hot chocolate.
