Stopped in the café with a few coworkers for an art tour and lunch. The space is bright and open with all windows, perfect for the museum vibe. I ordered the turkey club, which was tasty, though it came on a brioche bun instead of the croissant listed and was missing the avocado. When I asked, the staff said they probably ran out--would've been nice to know ahead of time. But the chips and fries on the side were really good. It's a nice convenient option if you're at the museum or around the area.

CAM Cafe is a great choice for brunch. It is located inside the Cameron Art Museum. The space is small but the windows allow for a lot of light. Outside seating may be available in the courtyard. I'm not sure if that was an option the day I was there but it was hot and humid so it could be possible that nobody wanted to be outside that day. Service was good. I was given time to look over the menu and I wasn't rushed and had time to enjoy my meal. A biscuit and mini muffin were brought out soon after I arrived and those were warm and delicious. The brunch menu was limited. I went with the eggs benedict as that is what I like for brunch. The egg was over easy so still had a runny yolk but I do prefer poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was great though. I'd order the dish again. A side of breakfast potatoes came as the side as those were really good. I wasn't hungry but did want to try the apple tart and even though I didn't finish I did enjoy the bites I had.

These were good!

Brunch in an art museum. The room is bright with plenty of tables. There's a bar too. I can picture having lunch outside in nice weather. I ordered the artesian quiche of the day, which was sausage and mushrooms (and a side of fresh fruit). The quiche was totally filled with ground sausage, some mushrooms, but not enough eggs. A Quiche is an egg-based dish with other ingredient and should be the star of the dish. The sausage was overwhelming and somewhat greasy. I was very disappointed. DH and one friend ordered the burger. Overcooked. Fries were great. The burgers were topped with a fried egg. One was overcooked, the other perfect. My other friend ordered the veggie omelet. Taking a small bite, it tasted, and looked like the eggs were from boxed powdered eggs. The inside of the omelet had several little squares of cheese (not fresh mozzarella per the menu), a little bit of diced tomatoes. It was a very sad looking omelet with hardly any filling. She ended up eating some of her husbands fries and part of his burger. When we got the checks, the waiter asked if she wanted the omelet to be wrapped up. Nope. She didn't like it. He took her meal off the bill. That was very nice. The Bloody Mary's were quite tasty. As we walked out, my friend and I noticed a man at the bar who was just being served shrimp and grits. It looked delicious and we agreed we both should have ordered it instead of what we ordered.

Sunday Brunch!

Shrimp & Grits + $5 Mimosas is what made SUNDAY BRUNCH memorable for me at Cam Café CAM Cafe Cameron Art Museum Serving up fresh seasonal offerings, coastal cuisine and classic southern dishes is what makes the food at CAM by Chef Chip Pridgen a standout! He believes cooking is an art and we definitely enjoyed our brunch dishes which included: Low Country Shrimp & Grits, Southern Breaded Chicken & Waffles and the Café Brunch Burger. Reservations are recommended but not required. We reserved for a seat indoors but they do offer patio outdoor seating with heat lamps. After Brunch, you'll want to hang around and see the many wonderful exhibits at the museum (I also did a review for that..check it out) , stop by the gift store or see the new outdoor sculpture ,Boundless..dedicated to the USCT.

Jazz night dinner menu

We came before the jazz night. There was no music in the cafe (as was advertised), and the menu was different than what was online. Now they recommend having a reservation. We did not have one and were graciously accommodated for seating inside! They were incredibly busy and not staffed for the onslot of patrons. Our entree came out before the salads and our bread came out last. Our sever seemed new and someone disorganized. I didn't enjoy the food...we tried the steak, tortellini and fish...all was very salty and steak was cooked only one way (medium rare). Out of all of it, I enjoyed the tortellini the most. Wouldn't come back again unless it's a different menu and less busy.

Have you ever been introduced to a certain dinner entree that just didn't sound appealing at first but then you take that first bite and you're beyond pleasantly surprised? That's exactly what happened last evening for dinner at the CAM Cafe inside of the Cameron Art Museum ! Introducing Chef Chip Pridgen's, Asian-inspired Thai Green Curry (with chicken) entree and bacon-wrapped scallops...sushi style!!! Both...incredible. From the basil, coconut curry sauce, fluffy Jasmine rice and fresh, fire-roasted / blistered bell peppers with wilted lemongrass, it was all sublime. The spice level was perfect and the combinations of ingredients were delectable. If...and I do mean if, I were to make any changes, additions or edit this dish in any way, I would have loved just a little more wilted, greens and maybe some sliced mushrooms in this dish. Plus, if you prefer...CAM Cafe also serves a vegan version of this gem. The scallops are large, tender morsels of seafood deliciousness, scarved with high quality bacon, grilled with a light char, then drizzled with spicy mayo, eel sauce, Sriracha and chili oil. Damn...this was an incredible dinner!! Service provided by Chloe was as good as it gets plus we enjoyed some light tunes from Ken Schnedetz on the acoustic guitar. Thank you, CAM Cafe and your entire staff for, not just an amazing dinner, but an amazing experience.

I called the restaurant first to confirm that the coupon was valid, and they were very helpful, so I headed over for lunch. I was seated immediately, and my server, Jaden, was genuinely one of the sweetest people I have met in quite a while. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and took excellent care of me throughout my visit. I ordered one of the specials--a Southwest-style bowl with rice, black beans, corn, steak, avocado sauce, and guacamole. I requested the steak medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well seasoned, and the portion was more than generous. Even without the coupon, the price was fantastic for the quality and amount of food. This was such a great experience from beginning to end. I cannot wait to go back, and I truly hope Jaden is my server again. She is a lovely human being who deserves all the recognition!

The good service and tasty food make it worth the wait -- just don't arrive starving!

The crabcake and poached eggs were fantastic. The large peppers and onions were not my favorite, but the potatoes were cooked well so I was happy. The parking lot does fill up on busy weekends, so expect to struggle to find parking unless you get there early. Otherwise, the experience of eating here was a breeze. We got our name on the list, got a call when the 30 minutes was up, and were promptly seated when we came in. Service was friendly and quick. I worked at a diner for 5 years with fresh squeezed and this was fresh out of a box maybe. They don't have a lot of their menu on weekends which is unique, it's typically reversed. They should have a weekend only menu tho as it's frustrating to order things it says they have and they don't. A LOT of fried or super heavy options. I came bc it said fresh but I guess deep fried fresh food is still "fresh." Plates and majority of glasses are plastic. No matter how fresh or not the food is, you still need to eat microplastics. Sugar on the table is all plastic wrapped fake sugar it was impossible to find just REAL raw sugar. Feels like they hopped on a fresh health trend but have a hard time walking that walk.

2 stars only because food was so good…read more Service was probably some of the worst I've ever had. A table arrived after we got our appetizers and got their food, a box, paid, and left before we even ordered our entrees. Each drink took minimum of 15 minutes and were incorrect. I'm the St. Louis visitor in the group, here to be educated on what Southern cooking is supposed to taste like. The verdict by the end of the night was mixed. The space itself is cute and clean, with an industrial-chic, open feel inside, but it gets very loud once it fills up, like hard to hear your side neighbor loud. We lucked into a set of club chairs in a corner away from the main dining area, which knocked the noise down enough that we could hear each other. Without that, I'm honestly not sure we would have stayed. The host didn't blink at seating us over there, and the wait staff throughout the night was friendly. Drinks were fine across the table. My grilled peach old fashioned was the only one I tried, and I was hoping for a sharper, smokier profile, what I got leaned peachy without much else going on. The clams my friend ordered had a little grit in them, so not perfectly cleaned, but the flavor was there. The six-hour baby back ribs was a great start, great sauce, not smothered, fall-off-the-bone tender, the kind of thing I'd come back for. I didn't get a photo because we tore into them too fast, which tells you most of what you need to know. After that, things got uneven. The pork empanadas are listed with an ancho chili jam, but no jam or sauce came with ours. The pastry was crisp and tasty, but the pork inside was under-seasoned, and we left a whole empanada on the plate. The crab cakes was the bigger letdown, my friend, who grew up in Maryland and knows what a crab cake should be, said hers tasted more like a flat, minced patty (possibly with fish filler) than actual crab. She didn't finish it. My gumbo ya-ya had chicken, shrimp, and andouille, but the sauce was thin and tomato-forward where I was hoping for, and a richer sauce. Spice was fine; the whole thing just landed middle-of-the-road. Desserts split the difference. The key lime crème brûlée was genuinely excellent, I'd order it again on its own. The North Carolina blueberry bread pudding was beautifully plated but a little dry in execution for use. We left half of it. One thing worth flagging: the restaurant closes at 8:30, and at 8:30 sharp, with us still finishing dessert, the music came on with the unmistakable "we're closed" energy, even though we'd arrived at 7 and no one else was wandering in late. It made the end of the meal feel rushed in a way that didn't match the otherwise warm service. 3.4 starts out of 5. To be fair: we didn't leave feeling the food was bad, just that we'd ordered into the weaker half of the menu. Our server highly recommended the skillet mac and cheese and the quesadillas, and the skillet cornbread looked great online - we just didn't pull the triggers. We have generous optimism a version of this meal that goes much better than ours did, and on a second visit I'd lean into those recommendations. For now, though, with friends in town and a list of places I haven't tried yet, I probably won't be steering people here for your one night in Wilmington. I'd come back to give it a fairer second shot if I lived here.

Also, Pepperidge farm white bread is not sour dough. We also got the Power bowl which had sweet potatoes. however, they were out of sweet potatoes so the other only other option was tots.
