I've never had anything tailored professionally before but I needed my bridesmaid dress trimmed and I'm kind of cutting it close on time. This place was recommended to me by friends and its close to my house. I'm assuming the man working there is Calvin and he is legit! The dress came out perfectly and the job was done quick! I brought it in on a Wednesday and he offered me the choice of Saturday to pick it up, but I selected Monday. Not sure how its done but I needed like 2 feet of dress cut from the bottom. Friendly and good service. My brother actually dropped off a suit to get altered and I was supposed to go pick it up for him. When I did, Calvin assisted me and when he showed me the suit I checked it and the pants weren't tailored... He did the jacket but forgot to get to the pants. No biggie, we weren't in a rush for it and he said he'd get to it right away and I could pick it up in an hour. I told him no rush and that I would be back the next day. Calvin is very helpful. I was getting ready for a funeral when I noticed my zipper in my dress was broken. I came straight here and first he said they can have it done on Wednesday. I told him it was for a funeral today, so he said I can come back at 2 and get it. Unfortunately the funeral starts at 2, so I said it was ok, I'd just wear something else. DO NOT COME HERE. Awful tailor, takes forever, and overcharges. I brought a pair of pants to have the waist and hem done. He hemmed them alright (which is simple) and then shortened the crotch line to the point where it felt like spandex. The pants were completely unwearable. So I told him and showed him what was wrong and asked that he fix them. 1 week later I come back and they're are still unbearably tight on my crotch. I show him and tell him again what the issue is and ask him to fix it. 10 days later I come back and nothing has changed. He charges me $28 and I take my pants to another tailor after he's wasted 4 weeks of my time. This new tailor charged $13 and had them done in 3 days. read more

The owner tailor Calvin is NOT honest. Do not be fooled by his friendliness and smile. I was taken and cheated out of my money from Calvin. I was bringing my clothes to him and paying for his overpriced tailoring for all my suits and jackets. To date I have paid over $900.00 in tailoring fees charged. As a busy business woman, I always trusted him and picked up my tailored clothing (always one bunch consisting of 7-10 pieces at a time) without checking whether my clothes were actually altered. On the last pickup he was paid $215.00 for hemming up the sleeves of my 10 leather jackets and 1 cotton jacket. When the items were home, I discovered that out of the 11 jackets paid he did NOT do alterations on 4 of them. In addition, he had ironed on one of my new gray leather jacket and ruined the leather. Without admitting to his mistakes and cheating me out of my money, he cleverly placed these 4 jackets in between the other jackets knowing that I would not inspect it upon pick-up. He took advantage of my trust in him. I took these 4 jackets back to him and politely showed him what happened but he was very ugly in his response. He suddenly turned rude and denied that he ever saw these 4 jackets (that I had already paid for) and told me that I needed to pay him again if I wanted the 4 jackets to be hemmed. Needless to say I was very disappointed by his dishonesty. In addition, he lied about ever seeing my gray leather jacket which he ruined by ironing it. This owner tailor Calvin is DISHONEST AND A FRAUD. Do not go to him. read more

I don't know why this guy has got good reviews. Ripped me off on the hemming of fine wool pants. Hemming Came out visible and he didn't even use matching thread on one of the pants. Continued to argue that that is how it is and it's his style. He argued and argued and kept on defending his mess. What the heck! There was a spot with thread knots clearly visible and he said I am complaining for just a 10$ job. What an attitude and what a poor job! Stay away from this rude and rip off place!!!! I went in to have my work pants hemmed up. When he measured my pants hem, I noticed he was pinning them too long. I told him they seemed too long, that my heels were shorter than that. He insisted that they were fine, that the pants will shrink when I wash them and the hem will be the right length (2 work slacks - polyester types, but actually pretty nice). Well, he's the expert, so I trusted his input. I'm not picky, but when I eventually put the pants on to wear them to work, the bottom of the pant legs completely covered my shoes, with the bottom of the pant legs completely touching the floor and spreading out over my shoes. I may as well have gone to work wearing duckie slippers/leopard-print combat boots - my shoes were nowhere to be seen under that frickin bedspread, aka hem. I brought the pants back. He wanted to charge me to redo them, at half-price (but why charging me for his error?), even though the day he had measured them, I told him all my shoe heels were short but he erroneously insisted the pant hem will "shrink" after being washed. He seems like a nice guy and hemmed my first pair fine two weeks before that happened, but I will definitely not go back. It is blatantly wrong for me to be expected to pay AGAIN when it was his error. I walked out with 2 pairs of pantsfor, that were just as unusable as when I brought them in. I would love to say everything was fine, but it wasn't. He could've had a lot of easy business and plenty of referrals from me. read more
