My shutters and blinds turned out great and still work like new. I've only ever lived in houses with older corded blinds, so making the switch to cordless blinds and shutters has been a game changer. My older blinds were ripped out during the reno process and the windows were bare for a few months. Ciera kindly offered to order me temporary paper shades to help cover the windows as I waited for our new ones to come in. The install was super smooth. I appreciated that they used shoe covers inside and made sure to vacuum and clean up the best they could. I'm glad I was able to support a local, family-business that sells high quality products. I had a pleasant experience working with the team and highly recommend to others!

When…read morewe were looking for shutters for our new home, the reviews for 5 Star Shutters & Blinds made them a must call, and we are glad we did. Ciera, Jesse, Lacey, and Sheena were all fantastic. From measuring the windows to the install, we could not be happier with our purchase and experience. We received two quotes while shopping for shutters and 5 Star made the choice easy when they provided a lower price than a big box store, plus supporting a local family business was the cherry on top. We were notified yesterday our shutters had arrived and they were installed today. The Norman composite shutters we purchased are gorgeous and transformed our home. I cannot thank Jesse and Lacey enough for the thorough, professional, and respectful install today. We had family over during the installation, and one of our relatives plans on using 5 Star for their project. If you are like me and spend a lot of time researching before a purchase, do yourself a favor and call 5 Star Shutters & Blinds. You won't be disappointed. It's been a while since I have experienced personalized customer service like they provide. They clearly take pride in their craft. There is a reason 5 Star Shutters & Blinds has...five stars.

I think Brittany Foster with Elite Shutters/Shades, is OUTSTANDING!…read more I was dealing with Brittany regarding an issue with very old Shades and her abilities and talents were amazing. These were Hunter Douglas shades and she was extremely knowledgeable of the product and everything associated with these shades. Most importantly, she knew how to navigate through Hunter Douglas, which resulted in me receiving entirely new shades to replace the really old ones. Her understanding of the product and understanding of how to negotiate with Hunter Douglas made this possible. Brittany deserves all the credit. Lastly, she did an excellent job of communicating with me on updates and progress of this exercise. In a world where it is difficult to find customer service Brittany is the exception and provided outstanding service, which I appreciate.

At the time we were doing remodeling of our home so we couldn't have them install the shutters right away. They were very accommodating with our time frame. When they installed the shutters, they all looked beautiful! They did fantastic job with installing them. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for shutters to be installed at your place. We think the pricing was fair as well. I don't remember pricing though but I do remember that my parents thought it was fair value. I totally forgot about them until my mom asked me last night because her friend wanted to get shutters installed so my mom asked me to find this place's info to send to her friend. :)

We were interested in changing them out for motorized shades and Rommel came out to our home for the consultation. He explained that the original cellular shades could not be retro-fitted to be motorized, so we would have to buy new sets. No problem - and totally understandable! Rommel was very patient and thorough with his explanation of why and working with us to understand our project. We ended up purchasing four sets of shades for our primary bedroom to cover two large windows with a two-layer, motorized system of black-out and light-filtering cellular shades. Rommel's installation team (Rene and Martin) were amazing - super fast, diligent, and competent! They also moved the original set of cellular shades we had to our living room, which meant we didn't lose them after all! They also updated the cord pulls for the original set, which we appreciated. The motorized shades have been such a wonderful addition to our master bedroom! We love the total darkness it provides for sleeping in -- and the automatic scheduler to lower / raise the shades as well has proven very convenient. We are VERY pleased with this upgrade. Overall, JMK Shutters offers a comprehensive, customer-first experience. Their team is knowledgeable, competent, and on-time. We have only good things to say about Rommel, Rene, and Martin and would consider them again for future work.

I had plantation shutters installed throughout my entire home several years ago. I spent thousands…read moreof dollars I believe it was 15,000 or so. One of my louvres broke on one of the shutters so I called Windowology and I spoke with Joe who asked me to send him photos of the broken louvre. We discovered that it had just fallen out because one of the pins holding it in place was broken. Easy fix! Joe said he would be happy to send somebody over but I needed to pay in advance $300 before I could set up an appointment and that would be the cost of the repair. I went on Amazon and bought the pins myself for $7.99 and I put the pin in and I popped the louvre in easily. It just made me so disappointed that a company would treat a customer that way and charge $300 for something that could be fixed for $7.99. A better customer service would've been to let me know about these pins and tell me how to fix it myself and not try to extort money from me after being a good customer. I forgot to mention that after I emailed Joe the photos of my problem he never called me back. I waited three days and had to contact him myself. I definitely would not recommend this company. To make it even more frustrating they are a mile from my home. If I was the owner of the company, I would've stopped by with the seven dollar pin and fixed it myself.
