The space itself is pretty small with a small front desk, two bathrooms a small hallway and then 2 workout rooms that fit about 10 people each. They had an intro offer on their website that I took advantage of, 2 free classes! One reformer and one for their other room which is mat pilates, Sculpt, bar etc. highly recommend. I took a reformer beginners class and sculpt and strength class. Both were great, challenging and good instructors. I'm enjoying the classes and the new type of workout. Only thing is the entire studio is reallllly cold, no heater on and the fans going, not sure if this is a philosophy of Pilates? Or the studio? Anyways wear long sleeves and sweaters!

That comment took me aback and made me feel worse about my body and I stopped taking her classes. 2) Pilates Barre posted a story on Instagram in sympathy of a misogynistic, racist neo-n*zi. That is entirely unprofessional of a business to post about, especially knowing how awful of a person he was and the hate he had for marginalized communities. (Note, they did not post about the school shooting that occurred within the same hour, so it was not about victims in general.) I no longer felt safe at Pilates Barre so I canceled my membership. I can not in good faith support this business and I hope you don't either.

A few suggestions that could help in this intense Bakersfield summer heat: Adding a couple of powerful floor fans at the front of the room to help circulate more air throughout the space (It gets really hot in the room, especially in the middle, and back, even with the fans on and the air set on cold!). Also, adding some essential oils to the cold towels provided at the end of the class might help to minimize nausea (we do go HARD!). Washing the towels with a scented detergent would be a nice touch too! Absolutely love working out here!
