Perfect spot to go to after a day at the beach. Came here after a leisurely stroll on the Rockaway board walk. Standard American bar food, we ordered the burger, chicken sandwich and fries. The highlights for us had to be the mezcal margaritas. Enjoy the smokiness of the mezcal

The atmosphere is awesome. There's a beautiful outside seating area that's well done with Adirondack chairs and picnic benches and tables. Pretty plants and flowers. Came around 9:00pm on a Saturday for some dessert. We decided to grab a burger and chicken sandwich with fries. the food was good. The dessert was really bad. got a waffle with chocolate ice cream. They put it in the bag with the hot food. It was immediately melted and weird. I asked for more ice cream and they did it. No problem. The waffle was like a brick. Very strange. I would suggest people go there for the food and forget the dessert.

Love love LOVE it here! This is the perfect post beach eat seeing that it's only about two blocks from the beach. You may have trouble finding parking close by but I promise it's all worth the search around the block. Callie's is fenced in and it gives off park vibes ( lots of room if you want to bring your dog, I guess) . Theres plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas for shade and lawn chairs too. Definitely a Covid-19 friendly spot considering all seating is located outdoors. As you enter you'll see a window where you order your food/drinks. I had the fish and chips as well as the sweet chili crispy cauliflower...The cauliflower was divine. Had the right amount of crunch, and (since I like to smell my food as much as I like to eat it) I would like to note that the spicy (not too spicy) aroma tingled my nose in the most satisfying, dreamy way. Anyway, the fish and chips was pretty awesome. The fries were perfect too. This was one of those meals where I get full half way, but power through to the end because the food is too good to let it get cold/go to waste. Now the cherry on top is that there is (a bathroom) a bar on the opposite side of where you order your food and regular drinks. They have this delicious frozen strawberry lemonade that they sell for $5 a cup, $10 if you wanna add some alcohol. I also must mention the wonderful selection of sauces they have, but you will need to ASK for them. The tartar sauce didn't come with my fish and chips, but don't worry it and the rest of the condiments are free. I def will be coming back soon!

Home Callie's home So I grew up on the beach, and always seek places that make me feel at home. It's almost like this place was made for me. Not only is the bar a 5 min walk from the ocean, its as local feeling as they come. As in, the local softball game we just passed let out, and both teams showed up for a round, kinda local. Again, my kinda place Walking in, you'll find a bunch of picnic-style tables, and Adirondack chairs, along with a small fire pit that wasn't lit the night we stopped in (LOVE a fire pit). You order food at the counter closest to 129th and pay, and grab a table. If you're like me, you'll head to the other side of the little building and order a drink at the bar (same building, not the same window). Yes, they have a little outdoor bar with a few large TVs that play local games (the Yankees were on when we were having a light dinner and happy hour drinks). The patio on by the bar also has a deck, which I imagine is nice when it's wet (the main area is ground). The bar slings cocktails, frozen drinks, homemade hard ice tea, and also has little coolers outside where you can just grab a beer and let the bartender know. I love this - the bartender was on break, I grabbed a claw and nodded to her. Felt just like I was home. Decent enough food (I had fish n chips), reasonably priced drinks, and a killer vibe, if you're looking for a spot to get off the beach and grab a beer, look no further.

By the time I remembered to take a picture, the damage had already been done. I've been to Golden K Burgers a few times now, and it has quietly become one of my favorite burger spots. It's a Korean-American burger joint with a cozy diner feel inside. Nothing overly flashy, just great vibes, a comfortable atmosphere, and a staff that always greets you with a warm smile that makes you feel welcome. Over the times I've been here, I've tried the Farmhouse Burger, Big Kahuna Burger, BBQ Chip Burger, and the A1 Burger. Honestly, they've all been excellent. But somehow... I keep coming back to the A1 Burger. Now I know what some of you are thinking. "A1 sauce? Really? There are so many better burger sauces than A1!" I actually agree! A1 has never been my first choice for burgers. But my goodness... whatever magic they're working here just works! The two juicy beef patties, perfectly marinated mushrooms and onions, melted Swiss cheese, tangy A1 sauce, and soft buttery brioche bun come together like a perfectly conducted symphony. Every ingredient has its role, and none of them overpower the others. The mushrooms bring an earthy richness, the onions add sweetness, the Swiss cheese gives it that creamy nuttiness, and then the A1 sauce swoops in with just enough boldness to wake up your palate without stealing the show. Funny enough, every topping on this burger (except the A1 sauce) is exactly what I'd normally choose for any burgers anyway, yet the A1 somehow becomes the finishing touch that ties everything together! Another thing I really appreciated was how well the burger was constructed. It held together beautifully from the first bite to the last without collapsing into a soggy mess. That's an underrated quality that deserves recognition. The fries were also fantastic because they weren't buried under a mountain of salt like so many places do. I actually found myself wondering if they'd fry them a second time upon request because I love my fries extra crispy. I guess I'll have to ask next time! I've also had their 12-piece Buffalo Wings before. I wouldn't say they're the best wings I've ever had, but they're definitely very good. They came out crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, marinated evenly with buffalo sauce (dry) that had just the right balance of buttery richness, tanginess, and heat. They were satisfying without being overly greasy. From the outside, Golden K Burgers probably doesn't scream, "This is one of NYC's best burger joints!" But trust me when I say this: you'll find yourself craving it again very soon. And to me, that's the highest compliment I can give any restaurant. There are plenty of places that impress you once. The truly great ones are the ones that make you want to come back! Give Golden K Burgers a try! Highly recommended!

Since we were dining in, they gave us a table number and we placed it in the holder so staff know where to bring the food. Our order didn't take very long to arrive to our table, just about 10 minutes. After finishing your meal, you bus your own table. The menu has options for burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, shakes, floats, and desserts. I ordered a Yellow Label Burger ($13.45) and a Strawberry shake ($6.75). My husband and I shared a Farm Salad ($9.75). The Yellow Label Burger comprises of USDA Prime Beef, homemade fried mac n cheese patty, lettuce, tomato on a potato bun. This was delicious! I liked how after biting into the crispy, breaded exterior it gives way to a hot, molten cheese center that oozes perfectly over beef. The Farm Salad which consisted of spring mix, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette on the side was also very very very tasty, fresh, and a good portion. The strawberry shake was also very good and had pieces of strawberries. Black Label Burgers pride on only using USDA Prime Angus beef that comes from a single source, Double R Ranch, located in Washington State, a family-owned farm known for its responsible practices and superior beef. You can definitely taste the richness and juiciness of the beef. My husband had the Red Label Burger ($13.25) and the PB&J shake ($7.75). He really enjoyed his meal as well. I really liked the inside decor and the laid back vibes. Black Label Burgers is great for a quick lunch, a night out with friends, or a family dinner. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy, always a good sign. I liked the local (Long Island) themed decor, friendly service, spacious parking lot, wide variety of self-serve beverages (tangy lemonade - yay!) and nicely padded booths. Definitely a cut above competitors like Shake Shack in that regard. I chose the signature black label burger made with dry aged beef and regular fries. While the hand cut fries were wonderfully crispy and flavorful, the burger was kind of disappointing - not terrible, but the bun tasted stale and the meat was very bland. Also I ordered the burger cooked medium but it came out pink in the center, not my preference for chopped meat. Maybe I ordered the wrong item? I plan to try other menu items in the future to see if they hit my taste buds differently.

It may be the best looking burger I've ever had. It tasted really good too, but for me it didn't quite live up to the hype. It was a very good burger, just not the best I've had. My wife had the fried chicken sliders, which unfortunately were pretty unmemorable. The chicken really could have benefited from more seasoning. Service was average, not bad by any means, but nothing that stood out either. Overall I'd give it 3.5 stars, I'm glad I finally tried Au Cheval and the burger was definitely good, but considering all the hype, I was a little let down by the overall experience. I'll have to try the original Chicago location at some point for comparison!
