They depend on customers who don't know about complex European cars, systems, and programming/diagnostics to rip you off. When you bring your car here they will charge you a diagnostic fee, perform no diagnostics however, tell you the repairs will be thousands of dollars to get your car running again. I was personally told the problem was a small module that flailed and would cost hundreds to replace then given a diagnostic report stating it would cost $3000+ to replace entire vehicle computer systems that failed and require replacement to get my European car running again. I asked repeatedly for diagnostic decision trees to verify how they came to that conclusion. They were unable to verify their own diagnoses. Towed the vehicle out of this scam shop and put in a $150 fuel pump that was the issue. The service is great! The scammers are nice! And the shop is clean (they don't actually work on cars here just diagnose expensive scams). It looks like a legitimate business but you will be scammed. Business owner responded trying to say it's not their shop which is just more deception. Beware of this shop.

I called around and got Mike who told me to bring it in, they are busy but it might be a quick fix. Paul got involved and did a careful diagnosis of the problem. The pan of course needed to be replaced. More importantly another part inside was bent, and if they could not fix it, I would need a new valve body, the part cost over $1,100 and would take a week to deliver, which Paul thought was ridiculous. He took this on as a challenge to fix the transmission parts without buying a new valve body. He worked hard on it, and in the end was successful! I saved a bunch of money, and they got me back on the road home. Great work, and much appreciated!

She lives in very rural Siskiyou County. Paul and his crew did a very cost effective rebuild of her transmission in a timely manner. The transmission has been working great for the past two years of heavy use. When we were at the shop for the above repair, we saw many friends coming in for repairs to their vehicles as well. Talked with our friends and found that they have been using RTS exclusively for years. They are all very happy with the work, pricing, and helpfulness. So when the transmission on my truck suddenly went out without warning on our wedding day, we knew where we would be taking the truck. Once again, Paul did a quality repair for a very fair price in a timely manner. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I needed a whole new transmission and had to leave the truck for a few days. Dale was extremely fair and honest, and did a fantastic job rebuilding my transmission. It even came with a 2-year warranty !! Fast forward to this week. The new transmission has been great but we experienced a minor issue. I gave Dale a call and he recommended two transmission shops in Reno where we could take the truck to be checked. The shop I chose stated the transmission was damaged beyond repair due to a clogged air filter and would not be covered under warranty. This made no sense!! I called Dale at Hartnell and relayed the message. Dale assured me that any issues with the new transmission would be covered. Dale called the other shop and ultimately paid for the diagnosis and asked that I take the truck out of that shop and take it to the other for a second opinion. Turns out there is no serious issue after all and the transmission was given a clean bill of health. I appreciate Dale's professionalism and excellent customer service. Now, I wish my transmission never died, but since it did, I'm very happy it ended up at Hartnell transmission. Thank you Dale!!!!!

I bought very expensive aftermarket bulbs but discovered the front bumper must be removed to change the light housing which I also wanted to replace. I saw this body shop had high stars on Yelp so I called to ask if they would perform the work. Their immediate response was "no" and "we don't do that kind of work and only install OEM components." I kindly asked " do you recommend anyone else that will do this work for me?". Immediate "nope, you'll just have to call around" They were about as helpful as a broken fence post and could care less in my opinion. My next phone call was to Underhood Automotive. Immediately helpful and professional. Chris said they do this kind of work all the time and install DOT legal headlights on older Shasta County Search and Rescue vehicles. Every single question I asked was answered. I live 4 hours away from Redding so coordinating this was somewhat of a Challenge. Chris even told me my mom's car had loud squeeking brakes and he would inspect those as well. Strong Automotive has high stars so I'm guessing their body work is pretty good but customer service is also very important and in this department, they have a long way to go.

When I called Redding Crown Honda, I got no help unless I wanted to pay to have the car checked. This was not an option since the car was just at Dublin Honda 7 days prior for diagnostics and repair. Why would I pay to have the car checked again? I called Dublin Honda, hoping they would work with Crown Honda, and get it checked for free. Guess what? Dublin Honda doesn't warranty their work, just the part. I ended up going to an O'Reilly Auto Parts store in Redding. A nice man checked the car for free but unfortunately he couldn't get a read from the car's computer. He recommended I go see Norm and spoke highly of him. Norm took a look at the car for free, gave me a recommendation, reset the computer and sent me on my way. He was so nice, respectful, and understanding. He took the stress away while on vacation and for that I'm so grateful. We need more men like Norm, in this world, especially in the world of auto repair. Thank you Norm!!

I didn't want to make another local appointment to drop my vehicle off and have it serviced whenever someone got around to it. So, based on positive reviews, I took a chance on making an appointment with Norm's and drove there for service. There was a miscommunication on my model but Norm ordered and received the correct parts in town quickly once that was resolved. I was able to drive away in a couple of hours and arrived back home by the afternoon. It was no hassle at all. Norm took a couple of minutes at the end to explain to me how I could do some more visual diagnostics on the vehicle myself, quickly pointing out a few relevant parts with his flashlight. He obviously didn't have to do that, but this is going to save me a lot of time later. The prices were very fair. When I looked up the services on Google for approximately what they should cost, Norm charged me around that amount. He also said for some things he wouldn't charge too much extra for if I wanted them done at the same time. This was much different than places I am used to who will charge me twice for taking apart the same thing once. Even with $50 in gasoline, the service was very affordable. I'll be spending all my vehicle maintenance budget with Norm as long as his business is still open. I'd be confident to recommend this business to anyone who has a Honda. My vehicle now runs a lot better than it did before and I feel like the money I spent went to someone who deserves it for quality work and excellent customer service.
