The facility is nice. I would be careful on buying products from them. They are cheaper elsewhere plus they only allow you 10 days for returns. If you buy products online, you get 30 days. I tried concentrated drops and had a reaction. I don't have allergies (they even subtly said how I should have read the ingredients before trying...like that would have made me think twice since I didn't have known allergies) so I called my dermatologist $$ plus was given cream $$....so since you cannot get in asap with an office visit I was 11 days when I tried to return plus $100 out for the office visit. She did say I can have a discounted service....so spend more money. So just a heads up to not purchase products unless you have used them before and like paying the higher price. I was a little disappointed that they couldn't do better, but lesson learned. read more

This is an amazing salon. I'm so very pleased with all of the different services that are offered. I've been a member at another salon in town for many years but this one is definitely a huge improvement over the other place. For only $9 more a month I get SO much more. And the staff is so kind, polite and knowledgeable. Amanda, the manager, is so amazing, sweet and helpful. I'm in love with the massage chair, the dry aqua massage, the red light/tanning hybrid bed and the red light stand up. Well, because of false information given to me by a poorly trained associate working the front desk and after multiple conversations with guest services I am stuck with a plan that I did not want. After being a loyal member for many years, you'd think you'd get treated a little differently. I would NOT recommend joining this establishment. The settings for the tanning bed are only available to the staff via computer. My first time on virgin skin the staff said six mins is their recommendation to not cause burning but I ended up with second degree burns., they admit they absentmindedly set my time at ten mins- corp offered me 10.00 compensation for a burn that hurt for ten days, then peeled, left marks on me, and has caused need for the dermo. I Had a wonderful experience this thanksgiving eve! I didn't know the salon closed at 2 this day and when I came in a little before that time- Alyssa who was working this day was so sweet and professional she allowed me to tan and massage just before she closed. She was in no rush to get me out of the salon and was extremely helpful with a problem on my account and gave me the perfect advice to pay on my account before the end of the month to avoid withdrawal from a specific card. Horrible! DONT GO TO THIS SALON! I was treated very poorly. The employee coming in to work jumped in front of me to tan when, I was already waiting 30 minutes to tan. Then she took her time chatting on her cell phone with friend making me wait another 30 minutes to tan. They are rude and don't care about customers at all. I don't want to tackled and sold things I don't want or need. Then they are rude to me when I do not buy their high priced lotion. It is like a time share sales. They over charged me for two years on my membership before I found out. They were dipping in to my account more and more higher and higher price by the month without notifying me of any price increases. I was a customer for about 6 years, that does not matter to these girls at all. I don't need to spend my hard eared money to be treated like I am annoying them to be there because I paid for a monthly membership. This was the first time i came to a tanning salon since moving out west. I was feeling down & needed some Vitamin D in my life so i came here. The front desk girl (can't remember her name) was super sweet, bubbly, and though it was her first week on the job she was great at answering my questions. Overall i had a great experience with the bed and their options however i rate this 3 stars because i strongly believe they should have a First Timer special (whether it's a free upgrade or a discounted week pass) & then i also was hoping they would have a package where you can purchase 5 or 10 sessions instead of a monthly membership. I live in Tahoe so i can't commute enough times to justify a monthly membership but i would commit to a 5 tan package. Was kinda bummed about that. Great selection of beds and services. Nice looking salon but bad experience. Called corporate to learn of any packages. Thought about my options and decided to choose the Ambassador. Unlimited tanning and spray tan for $69.00 for one month. They specifically told me that it was $2 a day and that just one spray tan and bed tan would almost total that so it was a great deal. Decided to do it in spite of the distance of 25 miles. Went after work in the horrible weather and 5:00 traffic and yes the Ambassador is $69 for one month BUT THERE IS A $69 DOLLAR SIGN UP FEE AS WELL.... Of course that was never mentioned on the phone. I personally am so tired of hidden cost I can't even stand it. Thank goodness there are many other salons to choose from!!! read more

The tanning beds (other than their highest level, most expensive one) are very poor quality and super ineffective - I saw no results and there were even times I was still cold after being in the bed for the max amount of time. When I went to cancel my membership, I called the membership / customer service number. It gives an option to press a button to speak with someone about your membership or changes to your membership. I pressed and no one answered so instead I left a message. A week or so went by with no response so I decided I would stop by the tanning salon after work to take care of it. I stopped by and the girl at the desk, who was new but was trying her best to be helpful, said she couldn't cancel it in person and that I would have to go to their website instead. I went on the website and completed the process. The tanning salon informed me that they would only charge me for the next 45 days of tanning and then it would be cancelled. This headache of a process seemed super sketchy, sleazy, abusive of the company... I could go on. By the way.... it is about a month later and I still never received a call back from the message I left. I will never go back to this place. I would also just advise that I'm sure if anyone else is looking for a tanning salon, they could find a much more customer friendly location with tanning beds that are actually effective. Fro reading other reviews dating years back, this company has been over charging or incorrectly charges and has had multiple complaints regarding the lack of transparency in regards to their cancellation process. They've been referred to as fraudulent and committing theft in terms of incorrectly charging. In the other reviews I read, I see responses asking them to call customer support if they want to discuss further- please don't bother suggesting that to me- I'm still waiting for a call back from my last message over a month ago. read more

This company will do anything to take your money be very aware that their contract is geared to scam you! The day of the COVID shut down, I called to request my account be cancelled. They offered to freeze it for me indefinitely instead and told me that I would be contacted when it was going to be unfrozen. They claim to have sent out an email in May of 2020 saying that my account would be unfrozen but I never received it. I have every email from Them since 2019 EXCEPT for that email they claimed to have sent out. They have since been charging me monthly without ever notifying me. They charged me over $600 (it's a credit card I never use so I had no clue I was being charged). When I called to ask for a refund the VP of operations told me basically it was my problem that I didn't receive the email. Per their contract they can charge you without you ever responding to an email but they can't cancel your membership UNLESS YOU RESPOND TO THE EMAIL. So they can claim to have sent you emails all day long and never have actually sent them. This is a bonified SCAM and they have no interest in acting in good faith or appear to value their customers. Also just FYI this company received over $700,000 in PPE money from the federal government for assistance during the pandemic but claim they don't have the man power to call customers regarding unapproved charges. read more

I had a pretty good experience here, despite the negative reviews. Nichole was super friendly and answered my millions of questions, but she was the only person working on a Friday and the place was really, really busy. There were a lot of people waiting but she remained friendly, let everyone know she would be right with them, and she calmly rushed around to get things done as quickly as possible. I think that the bed prices are a little extreme. Their highest/best bed was $44/session. Yikes! But it did give me fantastic color after just one sitting. I got a 2-for-1 sunless versa for $25, so that is cheaper than most places I have seen. I like Versa vs. the Mystic because it is better quality and you get a more even tan. It was $2 extra for the PH spray which I think is worth it. I will say that two days later, I feel like the sunless tan is starting to separate, which normally doesn't happen until day 5 or 6, so I was disappointed with that. She did make a lot of product suggestions, but I never felt like she was pushy. The salon was clean, huge, and seemed to be really well taken care of. I thought the bed was completely clean unlike others who have complained before. Definitely like this tanning salon and when I am back in Reno I will be back to California Sun. read more

Well... the facility is clean and the beds are very nice. Seems like a newly remodeled store and pushing more high end products. Which is why it it's a little bit disappointing or maybe a let down to have poor customer service/support. My friend and I visited last night. The assistant manager is pleasant enough.... but she lacks "professionalism". She must have referred to my friend and I separately as "girl" at least 50 times each. It comes off as condescending, patronizing and objectifies women including herself. There has to be a better way. Examples: Alright I have prepared your bed, enjoy yourself. I'm here if you need help/have questions. Or I understand, let me find out the answer for you. I will have the information for you shortly. Or Have a nice tan, see you in a bit. Or Your bed is ready, enjoy! Right? Ending every sentence with "girl" is odd? It's not cute. It lacks a sense of professionalism.... On to the next issue. If you don't know the answer, it's okay. Say I'm not sure, let me find out for you. It's not wise to tell the customer repeatedly to call corporate to ask. Are your managers not trained and empowered to answer/solve problems? We wanted reassurance about a particular product being used, mainly a safety concern. Rather than say "oh your right, that bed does say UV, that is confusing. I assure you the bulbs were recently changed out to ref light". It got turned into," I know it says UV but I'm positive it's red light, but if you don't believe me call corporate" (repeated at least 3 times) Which means to a customer: 1. I don't care if you can read and it seems fishy 2. I know it's red light but I don't know well enough to explain to you why it says uv 3. Since I don't really know the full story, will you do my job for me and call my boss, so it can be explained to you the customer. 4. I don't care, leave me alone Eventually, the assistant manager did call but after lots of discontent and literal "huffing, puffing and deep sighs of discontent and resentment" The visit left a lot of doubts about her ability to handle the pressure. I was here a year ago with no base tan what so ever and did 10 minutes in a basic bed. I just went here to get the same service for the same time in the same bed, as I am still quite tan from the summer, and was denied that. The woman behind the counter first tried to push a membership on me and when I declined that, she told me a tan would be $40 for a single tan. I asked her if there had been a price increase since the last time I had been here because it was under twenty dollars then, she said yes, but oh, a basic bed would be $15. I said that would be fine I'll do the same as last time and that is when I was told 7 minutes was the longest I could go so I wouldn't get burned. Again I tried to explain that the last time I was there I had no tan and I did 10 minutes and had no burn but she still refused so I declined and said maybe I'll come another time. I will never go here again because they obviously do not want my business or anyone else's who doesn't want to sign up for an over priced membership or single tan for $40. read more

First, the cute little brunette that works Friday mornings is awesome. Always friendly, helpful, and smiling. I've been coming here for years. Good deals for members, clean, and effective. My only complaint is recently I've been having trouble with getting the beds started. On three occasions over the past 2 months I've gotten set up in a room, strip down, hit the start button, and NOTHING. The first time, employee took me to the wrong room, had to call corporate and get it reset. Second time, employee didn't finish the computer set up before walking me to my room. Third time there was an issue with the button and had to be pressed really hard to get the bed started. Nothing major, and wouldn't stop me from coming in. But it's super frustrating to get fully undressed, just to have to get dressed again to get help, and then get undressed again. Especially in the brisk winter weather. Attention to detail from employees and perhaps a little sign in the room of the bed that has issues would do the trick. Overall, good spot to keep a nice tan all year long. read more

Would love if there are more of these in Reno. Very clean facility the only tanning location I trust. I know that they change their lights when get to 3/4 of the half life. I really appreciate the clean atmosphere and the towel that you always get. I think it's really important that you can feel comfortable ar your tanning salon. It is awesome that they always have good music and someone to help you. Many beds so you never have to wait unless you want to specific bed. Very good selection of tanning lotions and they are very safe and force you to wear goggles. I really love this place and think that they do a good job at what they do. I recommend getting a membership because it ends up being vastly cheaper than drop in days or packages of 5 or 10 tans. They also constantly have good deals on spray tans. Last time I was there I was able to buy two get one free. I really think that they need to open at least one more in Reno as this location is pretty far from Midtown. No need for an appointment usually can just walk in. If you are waiting to get a spray tan I do recommend calling ahead to see if there is a long wait for that. Every single time they check your ID, goggles, and your lotion. Make sure that you always have that ready as they get pretty annoyed if you're not ready.They will not let you tan without any of those three things. Again I love this place and the only place I trust for real results and clean environment!! read more

As an Easthetician I wanted a place where I could get some vitamin D without added skin damage. So I went in thinking a minimum package on the the low end UVB bed would do. HOWEVER I'm glad every day that Carissa at the Reno location talked me into a full spa package!! I use the amazing inferred bed almost everyday and love how it helps keep me detoxed and feeling so great. I also noticed that it helps keep the extra lbs off big time, an added BONUS! I also believe in and use the red light bed often which kills bacteria is on your skin and helps your skin produce elastin and collagen therefore helping it to firm it. The spray on tan is great for keeping me dark without too much UV exposure. Thank you so much Carissa you guys do an amazing job and I look forward to it every day! read more
