My husband and I dined here with our infant on our recent trip to Disneyland Paris. This restaurant is located in the Disneyland Hotel on the 2nd floor. We had a reservation for 6:30 which is apparently what time they open because when we arrived at 6:15 the doors were not yet open. So I took the baby over to a store for a few minutes and when I returned they had sat my husband by the kitchen. I couldn't decide if this was a good table or a bad table. It was nice because we had a view through the window of the kitchen, so it was kind of like eating at the chef's table. But, it also felt like it was in a hallway and we weren't good enough to be in the main dining room. Either way, it worked great as far as putting our stroller where it was out of the way.
Our service here was excellent. It was some of the best service we had on our trip. Our server even made a little chef hat for the baby which is the sort of Magical Moment we have come to expect from the FL and CA parks.
For dinner I had the winery menu where I chose a beet and goat cheese salad, pork tenderloin, and cheese plate. It was priced at 70 Euro. The salad was excellent. I loved the dressing and I loved the goat cheese. It was a beet salad, but the beets were not the star of the dish for me. The pork was so bland. I was so sad because I really love the pork dish at the California Grill at Walt Disney World and I in no way expected it to be the same, but I expected it to be good. Who am I kidding? I am in France, I expect it to be better! The sauce saved it, but I was totally unimpressed. For dessert I had the cheese plate. I love French cheeses, but I was a bit disappointed not to get some bread or crackers or something to eat my cheese with. I understand that this may be an American way of eating cheese, but I still would have liked it. All the cheeses were good except one which was a bit funky for me.
My husband had a different prix fixe menu that was 90 Euro, but he did the wine pairing which made it even more. He started with the foie gras which was his favorite part of the meal. He then had the duck which he liked, but agreed it was a bit bland. He wanted it to be more than it was and he wished the skin was crispier or had more flavor. The potatoes that were served with his duck were even more lackluster. However, the dessert, a cheesecake, was a standout. It was incredible and both of our favorite aspects of the meal. Here's the crazy thing. If you didn't get the prix fixe menu that cheesecake was 30 euro?! I could buy a whole Juniors Cheesecake in NYC for that.
Overall, we enjoyed the dining experience. I was able to watch the night time fireworks from the window. We had excellent service. Our appetizers and desserts were good, but for the price the food has got to be better. read more
