Stay away! Waiter scammed us in July 2024. This was the first restaurant we ate at when we first arrived in Paris and definitely left a bad impression. We understood that tips are not required but can be added if desired for excellent service. The waiter actually asked us to add tip and wanted 10%. We've agreed to 10% but then the waiter proceeded to add a flat €20 on top of the bill and hid the receipt in the back of the bill, handed to us quickly and left. We didn't see this extra added amount until we got back to the hotel. We've reported this fraud amount charged and was able get the €20 back from our credit card company. Poor management. We requested to sit outside on a nice day. We were seated, and when I thought we were ordering, the waiter told us the area is reserved and asked us to sit inside. Without being apologetic to move my elderly mother and little child. There was no sign of it being reserved. When we went inside in the cramped place, it didn't feel right. Second time trying the French onion soup for me, and it was definitely a bust Tepid, very light on the onions and super light on Gruyère cheese (which is served on the side as well as the bread). This is one of my favorite spots that I found in Paris, although I wasn't in Paris for very long. I ate at the Washington Post twice. The servers were SO helpful and wonderful. They were extremely nice and provided excellent service. The food --- perfect! I've never had scrambled eggs that were this delicious. After all the walking we had done in Paris, Bryan and I definitely need a drink maybe two. Washington Poste caught our eye because it was tucked into this little alley-way along the busy streets of Champs Elysees, just be careful going in and out of that alley, people drive a little fast in Paris. Our server was nice he knew very little English and we know no French, so he really made an effort communicating with us. Our phones were dying and we asked for a charger and he dropped off this huge box that allowed us to charge both of our phones, yes very touristy of us but we need it for photos and directions people! I ordered an Aperol Spritz, holy shit it was huge and strong, while Bryan ordered a French beer, not really sure which one. Our server dropped by multiple times to see how we were doing and even enticed Bryan to order another beer. Overall we had a wonderful time, ambiance is just lovely and got us out of the cold. Stopped in here when we first arrived in Paris. We were tired after our overnight flight and needed some food. We were able to be seated quickly and the pricing on the menu was slightly better than right on the Champs-Elysees. I opted for their bacon cheese burger. It came out cooked as requested,juicy and flavorful. They had a great beer and wine menu so got a great rose to go with the beer. The kids also had burgers and enjoyed them. Loved the food here! I was walking down the street looking for food and heard the music from far away. They are open pretty late I went in about 10pm and they were still serving food and drinks. I ordered a mojito, very different than any other mojito I had before it was good I ordered the roasted chicken for dinner and it was so flavorful. There was sauce that tasted like a French Dio sauce over the chicken, made the chicken taste amazing. The chicken was tender and also came with salad and French fries. Nothing else was open at 8am in the area besides this spot, so we ended up here for breakfast. I got the Scrambled Eggs with Salmon and Toast (€8.00). This is a great little pub located just off the busy hustle of Champs Élysées. Often admits all the glitz and glam you just crave an insanely good beer, enter Washington Poste and you'll have that beer you're looking for... The staff is friendly, the beer taps are ice cold and the location is awesome. I've actually had a couple of appetizers here as well and their delicious as well as largely portioned. The main thing that keeps me coming back to this particular pub when in France is the fact that they have Hoegaarden on tap, which is delicious with a sliver on lemon, mmmmm. Highly recommended! Most surprising meal in Paris. I would never expect to have a terrific little meal one block off the most touristy Street in Europe. We were walking along the Champs Elysee on an incredibly busy New Year's Day and wanted some breakfast. The most perfectly cooked French scrambled eggs, a bit of bacon, just a few greens drizzled with a bit of vinaigrette and a large piece of bread. All for about 11 euro - maybe $13. This was my third visit to Paris. I consider myself a decent home chef, I can cook decent Onion Soup, Escargots de Bourgogne or Baguette. During my previous trips including the last one, I tried visiting a new restaurant every day to enjoy French cuisine. On the 14th of July (Bastille Day, which is a national French holiday when most restaurants are closed) however, my son and I decided to grab lunch after the Military Parade on Champs Elysées with this restaurant being one of the only open ones at the time. We started with an Onion soup which was watery, with a minimal amount of some boiled, not caramelized, pieces of onion floating around. Instead of grilled cheese toast deliciously floating around in the soup, the soup was served with thin small, air-dried slices of (probably recycled) baguette and a tiny metal cup with a ridiculously small amount of grated cheese on the side. Let alone that none of this was baked in with cheese on top. When I asked what I should do with this odd assortment, the waiter replied to me in a condescending tone "Just put bread and cheese into soup". The cheese did not melt in the soup either since it was not that hot. Next, I ordered Escargots de Bourgogne. They were very petite, I order them at almost every French restaurant I go to and I've never seen them that small. They came with a small amount of green sauce in the shells and were practically tasteless with a strange sweet aftertaste. Last, they brought us their version of beef tartar. The beef itself looked like it was processed on a high-speed food processor and had an interesting dirty color to it. The beef had a disgusting sweet taste to it. I came quite close to vomiting after trying it. The owner told me that the beef tartar was mixed with some very special Italian sauce. I returned the dish since it was impossible to eat. Throughout our visit the waiter completely ignored us most times. We tried to get his attention in many ways, but it was useless. He pretended that he was very busy and important. We waited for the check for over 30 minutes and finally got it after I complained to the owner. When we received the check, the tartar was included in the bill even though I had returned this dish as uneatable. The owner explained that: "other people are eating this dish". That's why he is going to charge us for the returned dish. I've seen many restaurants in Paris. There will always be variations in service or quality of food. But this was by far the worst in comparison to the other restaurant in every single aspect. The Washington Poste is honestly a disgrace to French cuisine, if there was an option to give it less than one star I wouldn't think twice. read more

Great food. Very busy area. I had the truffle burger which was under seasoned sadly but I only give this good of a review for the rotisserie chicken my girlfriend had. The gravy had a beautiful depth and flavour. It would be perfect for poutine. The muscles were great, cooked in a great Sauce but we're very small. You still get a mini pot full of them. A Drink Off the Block! Paris is crazy expensive in any place that's meant to be seen. So imagine my surprise at this upscale pub that serves up wine at reasonable prices.....just off the Champs-Ellyses no doubt! Awaiting a night tour of the sights, I set my sight(see what I did there) on a few glasses of France's finest. This place caught my eye walking up the main boulevard. Very good staff, no hint of snobbery which is common in this area. I felt very welcomed here, and they took the time to explain the wines and help me choose what was best. While wine menus change regularly, there was a Bourdeaux I was pretty keen on. Big, bold, and full bodied. It was brilliant. One thing I appreciate about pubs in France is that you have the option to buy wine in various increments. So essentially I bought two glasses of wine in one glass and saved some money. I don't normally order this high on the menu but for this night in this place, I was more than satisfied. Check this place out if you're in the area. The food was good enough, not spectacular. The problem came when we got the bill. The waiter asked for extra tip, which they are not allowed to do in France. When I asked if the tip was already included, he got very attitudinal, slammed the check down and glared at us. Very disappointing, but as another poster mentioned, they tried the same with him.
