Got wood? CA firewood does, and their staff is very friendly and helpful! Much cheaper buying in various percentages of cords than picking up the small packages at the grocery store that only contains fast burning wood. You can easily go through two full packs of store bought wood for $12 or go through 3-5 pieces of oak and itll last longer and save you money. Not to mention the denser wood burns hotter. read more

You sold us wood that was not seasoned when you said it was. Terrible, problem getting wood to light very disappointed in them . Wil no longer do business with them or refer them to others. read more

This fabulous company delivers a TRUE measured cord! Their wood is great for our fireplace. This will be our 4th year having them deliver to us in Poway. read more

California Firewood - Firewood Near Me - Ramona, California

This place sucks! I had a delivery scheduled that didn't show up, called and was told she accidentally put me down for the wrong day. She said she can't get the wood to me for another 5 days. I wasn't happy but asked that she wave the delivery fee for wasting 2 hours of my time waiting for nothing. She refused, said she made a mistake and has apologized...thanks, but your apology doesn't replace my 2 hrs. That's just bad business! read more

California firewood provided high-quality oak split firewood and delivered it. The wood was high quality and they dumped it safely right where I asked them to. I completely recommend this business. read more

As a Poway resident, was frustrated by the local Poway Firewood option on Poway Road. Saw the stellar reviews for firewood @ California FIrewood. Called and they agreed to meet us. Met up with the ladies running it and they were really nice. Got three hefty wheelbarrows of Palomar Mtn. Oak firewood. Nice and dry. Paid 75 bucks cash (they take cash or check). Wanted a 1/4 cord but she did not think it was a good idea weight wise for our Honda Pilot to handle. Will be taking our yearly firewood needs to them from now on. read more

I had a camping trip planned, but our previous plan for firewood fell through. I called the morning of our trip and asked if they had firewood that they could sell to us, but they were already out on deliveries and only had enough wood to cover the deliveries. They asked if I would be passing through Ramona and since I was, they pointed me to a spot that I could get good quality wood at a good price. It was great that they seemed to genuinely care and took the time to help me even though I wasn't buying wood from them. Next time I'll call ahead of time to make sure I can actually buy from them! read more

We just received a cord of wood from these folks. It was delivered and stacked for a very reasonable price. This is by far the best outfit in town for firewood. Friendly, reasonable, and reliable! read more

FANTASTIC! Absolutely fantastic. We received 1/4 cord delivered to our door less than 24 hours after the initial call. I opted to stack it myself, so I can't speak for that service. The delivery was quick, customer service is excellent. I received a courtesy call when they were on their way. Wood was unloaded as close as possible to stacking area. I've been using this for over a month now, never had any issues. No bugs, no rot, etc. I will continue using them as long as they're open for business! I ordered all oak, but they gave me the tip to order a mix of oak and piñon if I was looking for something to give off a scent. They said it smells amazing while burning. I'll try that next season!! read more

After our chimney sweep inspected and certified our fireplace for wood fires, we started looking for a good source of firewood for this winter's hearth. There's a handful in our area, but after research, we were directed to California Firewood by our neighbors. Were told they were dependable, had excellent prices and their wood was well seasoned. Called and spoke with one of the owners about what wood they'd recommend. Oak! Burns long, hot and clean. Asked for a quarter cord of oak..and was surprised to hear they could deliver the same day.. in fact, ~2 hrs after I called! $100 for a quarter cord, and $20 for delivery (though we're not too far from their wood lot in Ramona) My wife received the delivery, and asked if they could stack it in our backyard. Learned then that it was an additional $40 for stacking..but decided to do it anyways without extra charge. Folks.. that is how you get customer loyalty! Now I know better about stacking fees (Hey.. new to this!) and for future orders of $160 for a quarter cord of oak, delivered and stacked? That is the best price in town! We got a nice fire going right now. That wood is well seasoned and burning quite well. We're very happy. Cal Firewood will be getting our call should we need more..and in future seasons! read more

California Firewood is the best. I live in Ramona. In November I ordered a cord of wood. On the day it was to be delivered their large truck had broke down. They sent a small truck and delivered half the order so that we would have something. They didn't want any payment because it wasn't the full order. Today in January they delivered the rest of the order and offered a discount because of the delay. I was never out of wood thanks to them. I will be using California Firewood again. Rob read more

I'm sitting in front of the fire writing this review. Very friendly with great prices. Next time I will probably have it delivered. I was skeptical with only 2 reviews, probably because its a small outfit in Ramona. I won't be buying wood anywhere else. read more

California Firewood - Quarter cord of Oak for a C Note - Firewood Near Me - Ramona, California

While camping at Dos Picos County Park down the road, we used to buy our wood from the ranger station. Guess they don't do that anymore, so now we're in need of some s'more-makin' wood! Looked this up on Yelp, and while it only had one review, it was quite positive and we were about to drive right by it while heading in to town for some supplies. (Wouldn't be a camping trip with this family without forgettin' sumthin...) The staff was very helpful. Even knew that the park wouldn't want us to bring oak into the park to burn (the gold-spotted oak borer is reeking havoc on the trees in the park, brought in by firewood...), so we bought several bundles of avocado at a great price, and the weekend was saved! read more

We've purchased wood from California Firewood in the past and so we decided to give them a call when our oak supply ran out right in the middle of those winter storms we had last week. They got us a 1/4 cord of oak in short time and the wood was dry, well seasoned and ready to burn on arrival. They even loaded all the wood into a utility trailer for me and swept up after themselves when they finished up! Always have been happy with the quality and service we get from California Firewood! We will be calling them again when this 1/4 cord of oak is gone........ Keep up the great work folks! Dave. read more

Easy to deal with. Significantly better pricing than 5 others I spoke with. I called on a Sunday expecting to leave a message. Phone was answered by Cindy who was very personable professional. They delivered wood and began stacking 90 minutes later. Great price and Service. Will definitely call them again. P.S. We've burnt the wood in our fireplace for about a week. The individual pieces are slightly smaller than any firewood I've bought before. It makes it easier to carry and use. Great company, service and Product. Usually in life you get price or service, Costco or Nordstrom. These guys seem to deliver both. Exceptional Value!! read more

The place for firewood! Great prices, great wood, super friendly and they deliver! I first went with them just to support local business, but after checking around I won't go anywhere else, they are consistently cheaper and better than the competition. I called today and had a cord of wood in my yard an hour later! 5 Stars all the way! read more

Unfortunately, most firewood dealers are sketchy at best, delivering wood in the dark so you can't see it clearly or just not showing up at all, which has been the case for us so far this year. Lucky for us we found Carla at California Firewood in Ramona, who not only gave us the best price but made a long delivery and showed up on time with beautiful wood - important to us because that's the way we heat our house. Give her a call! read more

Great service! Thank you for delivering and stacking the wood for us. I know it wasn't easy since we live on a slope. The wood burns nicely and smells great :-) read more

These guys were amazing. Helped us load the wood into our vehicle, gave us an amazing price and some bonus wood. Then we left our propane tank there and drove an hour away. They picked up the phone after hours and coordinated with our friends to get the propane tank off the property. They went above and beyond to help us out when they owed us nothing. Thanks guys! read more

Cindy Lopez and Co. at California Firewood will take care of you in an easy, customer-forward fashion. I backed my Honda CRV in to their no-frills lot where her worker carefully loaded a perfectly split, quarter cord of oak. The worker took time to protect the back interior of my vehicle and donated a tarp to prevent scrapes. As a retired, single, 62-year old female, I appreciate that level of service and attention to detail. From Rancho Bernardo, I drove a scenic and quick route via Poway Rd. and Hwy. 67. Trust every other reviewer too; this is an honest, hard-working and dependable company. If this locale works for you, look no further for fireplace, fire pit or camping needs. Locate their lot entrance off of Main St. on Kalbaugh St. in Ramona. read more

Excellent service. They arrived for delivery and I was 30 min late. They still waited for me, asked for nothing more in the price, and still all smiles. I gave them an extra $20 and they were very grateful. Highly recommend them. read more

If you want great wood at a great price with exceptional customer service, order from this place! I work a lot and don't have a lot of personal time. For me to take the time out of my day to post a positive review on YELP, -this should convey how impressed we were with Karla and team. Right before Thanksgiving weekend, we called on a Saturday morning after reading YELP reviews. We were not sure if they would deliver to Oceanside. To our surprise, they would deliver to Oceanside and on the same day. The price to deliver and stack were extremely reasonable. Karla and team came on time and as promised stacked a 1 cord of Oak and a 1/4 cord of Almond wood. All of the wood was nicely split. They did an awesome job all the way around. Even thoughtful with putting card board under their truck to ensure no leaks on our driveway and cleaned up after working hard to neatly stack our wood. We will be ordering from them again along with referring all of our Oceanside neighbors and friends in Fire Mountain. Meanwhile our fires have been burning great this December. Can not say enough good things about this place and their truly great customer service! read more
