Got wood? CA firewood does, and their staff is very friendly and helpful! Much cheaper buying in various percentages of cords than picking up the small packages at the grocery store that only contains fast burning wood. You can easily go through two full packs of store bought wood for $12 or go through 3-5 pieces of oak and itll last longer and save you money. Not to mention the denser wood burns hotter. read more

As a Poway resident, was frustrated by the local Poway Firewood option on Poway Road. Saw the stellar reviews for firewood @ California FIrewood. Called and they agreed to meet us. Met up with the ladies running it and they were really nice. Got three hefty wheelbarrows of Palomar Mtn. Oak firewood. Nice and dry. Paid 75 bucks cash (they take cash or check). Wanted a 1/4 cord but she did not think it was a good idea weight wise for our Honda Pilot to handle. Will be taking our yearly firewood needs to them from now on. read more

I had a camping trip planned, but our previous plan for firewood fell through. I called the morning of our trip and asked if they had firewood that they could sell to us, but they were already out on deliveries and only had enough wood to cover the deliveries. They asked if I would be passing through Ramona and since I was, they pointed me to a spot that I could get good quality wood at a good price. It was great that they seemed to genuinely care and took the time to help me even though I wasn't buying wood from them. FANTASTIC! Absolutely fantastic. We received 1/4 cord delivered to our door less than 24 hours after the initial call. I opted to stack it myself, so I can't speak for that service. The delivery was quick, customer service is excellent. I received a courtesy call when they were on their way. Wood was unloaded as close as possible to stacking area. I've been using this for over a month now, never had any issues. No bugs, no rot, etc. I will continue using them as long as they're open for business! I ordered all oak, but they gave me the tip to order a mix of oak and piñon if I was looking for something to give off a scent. They said it smells amazing while burning. After our chimney sweep inspected and certified our fireplace for wood fires, we started looking for a good source of firewood for this winter's hearth. There's a handful in our area, but after research, we were directed to California Firewood by our neighbors. Were told they were dependable, had excellent prices and their wood was well seasoned. Called and spoke with one of the owners about what wood they'd recommend. Oak! Burns long, hot and clean. Asked for a quarter cord of oak..and was surprised to hear they could deliver the same day.. in fact, ~2 hrs after I called! $100 for a quarter cord, and $20 for delivery (though we're not too far from their wood lot in Ramona) My wife received the delivery, and asked if they could stack it in our backyard. Learned then that it was an additional $40 for stacking..but decided to do it anyways without extra charge. Folks.. that is how you get customer loyalty! Now I know better about stacking fees (Hey.. new to this!) and for future orders of $160 for a quarter cord of oak, delivered and stacked? That is the best price in town! We got a nice fire going right now. That wood is well seasoned and burning quite well. We're very happy. Cal Firewood will be getting our call should we need more..and in future seasons! read more

California Firewood is the best. I live in Ramona. In November I ordered a cord of wood. On the day it was to be delivered their large truck had broke down. They sent a small truck and delivered half the order so that we would have something. They didn't want any payment because it wasn't the full order. Today in January they delivered the rest of the order and offered a discount because of the delay. I was never out of wood thanks to them. I will be using California Firewood again. Rob read more

They got us a 1/4 cord of oak in short time and the wood was dry, well seasoned and ready to burn on arrival. They delivered wood and began stacking 90 minutes later. Great price and Service. Will definitely call them again. P.S. We've burnt the wood in our fireplace for about a week. The individual pieces are slightly smaller than any firewood I've bought before. It makes it easier to carry and use. Great company, service and Product. While camping at Dos Picos County Park down the road, we used to buy our wood from the ranger station. Guess they don't do that anymore, so now we're in need of some s'more-makin' wood! Looked this up on Yelp, and while it only had one review, it was quite positive and we were about to drive right by it while heading in to town for some supplies. (Wouldn't be a camping trip with this family without forgettin' sumthin...) The staff was very helpful. Even knew that the park wouldn't want us to bring oak into the park to burn (the gold-spotted oak borer is reeking havoc on the trees in the park, brought in by firewood...), so we bought several bundles of avocado at a great price, and the weekend was saved! read more

Unfortunately, most firewood dealers are sketchy at best, delivering wood in the dark so you can't see it clearly or just not showing up at all, which has been the case for us so far this year. For me to take the time out of my day to post a positive review on YELP, -this should convey how impressed we were with Karla and team. Right before Thanksgiving weekend, we called on a Saturday morning after reading YELP reviews. We were not sure if they would deliver to Oceanside. To our surprise, they would deliver to Oceanside and on the same day. The price to deliver and stack were extremely reasonable. Karla and team came on time and as promised stacked a 1 cord of Oak and a 1/4 cord of Almond wood. All of the wood was nicely split. They did an awesome job all the way around. Even thoughtful with putting card board under their truck to ensure no leaks on our driveway and cleaned up after working hard to neatly stack our wood. We will be ordering from them again along with referring all of our Oceanside neighbors and friends in Fire Mountain. Meanwhile our fires have been burning great this December.
